Spring Arbor, Michigan

Spring Arbor University (SAU) is a private Free Methodist university in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Developing from an earlier academy and junior college, in 1963 it began offering bachelor's degrees. Attaining university status in 1994, it is the second-largest evangelical Christian university in Michigan. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Spring Arbor Township is a civil township of Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 8,267 at the 2010 census, up from 7,577 at the 2000 census.

Western High School high school located east of Parma, Michigan, United States. It has classes for grades 9 through 12. Western is located on Dearing Rd, just inside the border of Spring Arbor Township. Jared Vickers is the principal. The school serves the northern half of Spring Arbor Township, a college community, and Parma, a mostly rural farming community. Other communities served are Woodville and Westwood, both of which are in Blackman, plus much of Sandstone, most of the area around Minard Mills, which is located in the southern portion of Tompkins, and the northeast portion of Concord Township.

Other notable cities within 517 include Charlotte, Mason, Eaton Rapids, East Lansing, Holt, Jackson, Albion, Howell, Coldwater, Adrian, Blissfield, and Hillsdale. 517 was one of the original area codes created in 1947. It initially covered the eastern half of the Lower Peninsula, outside the southeast (Metro Detroit and Flint), which was assigned area code 313. Besides Lansing, It included the Tri-Cities (Saginaw, Bay City and Midland) and much of Mid-Michigan, then it was later expanded to include Jackson. It was one of the largest area codes east of the Mississippi River that did not cover an entire state. On April 7, 2001; the central and northern portions of the old 517 territory became area code 989. Until then, despite the presence of Lansing and the Tri-Cities, 517 had been the only one of Michigan's original three area codes to have never been split, and one of the few remaining original area codes (not counting those serving an entire state) to have never been split or overlaid.

Parma is a village in Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 769 at the 2010 census. The village is divided into three sections with boundaries in Parma Township and Sandstone Charter Township.

Sandstone Charter Township is a charter township of Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,984.

Lumen Christi Catholic School is a private Roman Catholic high school located in Summit Township, just outside Jackson, Michigan, in the United States. Located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing, it was established in 1968 from the merger of St. Mary's and St. John's Catholic High Schools.

The Cascades is a manmade waterfall attraction in Sparks Foundation County Park, Jackson, Michigan. The falls are both illuminated and choreographed and is the site of concerts and special events from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Three times a year, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, fireworks displays are presented at the Cascade Falls. Since its creation in 1932, millions of people have enjoyed the beauty of The Cascades.

WKHM (970 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Jackson, Michigan. It is owned by Jamie McKibbin, through licensee McKibbin Media Group, Inc., and broadcasts a talk radio format. Studios, offices and the transmitter are on Glenshire Drive in Jackson.WKHM is a Class B station, broadcasting at 1,000 watts using a directional antenna with a four-tower array. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator station W268CA at 101.5 MHz.

The Denton Road-Sparks Foundation Park Pond Bridge is a road bridge carrying Denton Road over the Sparks Foundation Park pond in Jackson, Michigan. The original bridge, constructed c. 1931, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. This bridge was demolished and replaced in 2007.
