Carrickalinga (from Kaurna Karrakardlangga / Karragarlangga) is a small coastal town in South Australia about 60 kilometres (37 mi) south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula overlooking Gulf St Vincent. The town has no shops, with the nearest being in Normanville, one kilometre away. Haycock Point separates two beaches, sometimes referred to as North Carrickalinga and South Carrickalinga beaches, both on Yankalilla Bay. Carrickalinga Creek discharges into the sea south of the town.

The biennial Leafy Sea Dragon Festival is held within the jurisdiction of the District Council of Yankalilla in South Australia. It is a festival of the environment, arts, and culture of the Fleurieu Peninsula, with a theme of celebrating the leafy sea dragon. The inaugural festival in 2005 attracted over 7,000 participants and visitors. The 2013 festival was held between 12 and 21 April with over 70 events scheduled.

The District Council of Yankalilla is a local government area centred on the town of Yankalilla on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. It was created on 23 October 1856, when the District Council of Yankalilla and Myponga was divided into two. It later absorbed two other councils: the District Council of Myponga on 5 January 1888, one of a number of amalgamations mandated under the District Councils Act 1887, and later the District Council of Rapid Bay on 12 May 1932.The district has a rich history, as one of the earliest South Australian coastal settlements, and a wide range of agricultural activities having taken place. Today the district remains agricultural in nature, supplemented by tourism and forestry.

Lady Bay is the colloquial name given to a former settlement of 21 shacks in the Australian state of South Australia located in the locality of Normanville about 2 km (1 mi) south of the locality's 'town centre.' The area adjoining the former shack site includes "The Links Lady Bay" resort, which includes a hotel, golf course and a 1,100 housing site subdivision.A proposal announced in 2008 by the developer of the "Lady Bay Estate" to create a new locality called "Lady Bay" from the existing locality of Normanville with the Bungala River as the boundary was "withdrawn by the developer in November 2009 following strong opposition by Normanville residents."The mouth of the Yankalilla River is at Lady Bay.

Yankalilla is an agriculturally based town situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, located 72 km south of the state's capital of Adelaide. The town is nestled in the Bungala River valley, overlooked by the southern Mount Lofty Ranges and acts as a service centre for the surrounding agricultural district. In the early stages of the colonisation of the state, Yankalilla was a highly important location, but its close proximity to Adelaide and the advent of fast transport has greatly diminished this position.

Yankalilla Bay is a long, wide bay in south-eastern South Australia, on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Yankalilla Bay is known for being the site of the ship's graveyard of HMAS Hobart, which was scuttled on 5 November 2002 off the coast between Wirrina Cove and Normanville to create a dive wreck and artificial reef. Its official name is the Fleurieu Artificial Reef. The HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout is located at Little Gorge.

Wirrina Cove is a locality and holiday resort on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia. It is located between the coastal towns of Second Valley and Normanville on Yankalilla Bay. The holiday resort was developed from around 1972, and is located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) south of Adelaide. There are various overlapping names associated with the Wirrina Cove area recorded as being used by the Kaurna people before the British colonisation of South Australia: Congeratinga (with a creek now given that name), also spelt Kongaratinga, Yarnauwingga, and Anacotilla. The location is also associated with the Dreaming story of creator ancestor Tjilbruke. Today, features at Wirrina cove include marina named Marina St. Vincent, the New Terry Hotel & Golf Resort, a variety of camping and other holiday accommodation at the Wirrina Cove Holiday Park other accommodation options. Little Gorge, near which the HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout is located, is north of the cove, on the road to Normanville.

The Ingalalla Waterfalls, also known as Ingalalla Falls, is a cascade waterfall in the Australian state of South Australia, located in the locality of Hay Flat within the District Council of Yankalilla, on an unnamed creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The waterfall is situated approximately 8.3 kilometres (5.2 mi) south of the town of Yankalilla and 70 kilometres (43 mi) south southwest of the state capital of Adelaide, the waterfalls descend from an elevation of 253 metres (830 ft) above sea level in the range of 81–92 metres (266–302 ft) to the Second Valley below. Its name was approved on 25 May 2000 in response to "a request for clarification from the Royal Automobile Association on which name to use for the feature." There is a strenuous bush walk starting at the waterfall and tracking through parts of the Second Valley Forest, around Mount Hayfield nearby. Mount Hayfield is a significant Aboriginal site due to its connection with the Kaurna Dreaming story of the hero Tjilbruke. Tjilbruke, the creator being of the Kaurna people, is said to have created yellow ochre at this site.

The Myponga River is a stream on the north-western side of the Fleurieu Peninsula in the Australian state of South Australia.

Myponga Beach is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia about 54 kilometres (34 miles) south of the state capital of Adelaide. It is on the eastern shore of Gulf St Vincent, immediately north of the northern boundary of the Fleurieu Peninsula.The locality extends from Snapper Point (at the southern end of Aldinga Bay) in the north to Carrickalinga Point about 18.7 km (11.6 mi) to the south-west. The coastline includes an inlet known as Coweelunga Bay; on its shores are a popular beach (known colloquially as Myponga Beach) and the mouth of the Myponga River.Myponga Beach began as a shack site on the shoreline in section 240 of the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Myponga. Boundaries were created for this "long established name" in 1999.As of 2015, land use within the locality consisted of land zoned for primary production uses such as agriculture, land adjoining the coastline being zoned for conservation purposes and the settlement at Coweelunga Bay being zoned as a "country township".The 2016 Australian census reported that the locality had a population of 33 people.Myponga Beach is located within the federal division of Mayo, the state electoral district of Mawson and the local government area of the District Council of Yankalilla.
