Orange City Colored School

University High School is a public, four-year high school located in Orange City, Florida, United States. Established in 2010, it is the newest high school established in Volusia County since 1994, as well as its costliest. As of 2010, it was the largest high school in Volusia County by enrollment. The new school opened on August 16, 2010. About 500 students at the new high school come from DeBary, about 500 from Orange City, another 250 from the unincorporated area around Orange City, and about 900 from Deltona. The school did not have a senior class for its 2010–2011 school year. The school has an elaborate advanced-placement program. University High School is partnering with the University of Central Florida, Stetson University, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in sponsoring two academies, the STEM Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and the Academy of Finance. Stetson has an advisory role in the program. For the 2016–2017 school year, University High School had 2,824 students enrolled.

The Dickinson Memorial Library and Park is a historic site in Orange City, Florida, United States. The library is located at 148 Albertus Way. The park is located on the corner of East Graves Avenue and U.S. Hwy 17–92. It contains tables and park benches around a gazebo and two water fountains. It is adjacent to the library. Every Friday from 8 AM to 1 PM you can find a farmer's market located in the park, with a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, plants, baked goods and other great items. The park is also used for various City and community events including an annual summer music in the park program. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The library is now known as the Orange City Library, and is part of the Deltona Region of the Volusia County Public Library.

The Orange City Town Hall is a historic site in Orange City, Florida, United States. It is located at 205 East Graves Avenue. On May 16, 2002, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Orange City Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on April 6, 2004) located in Orange City, Florida. The district is roughly bounded by Banana, Carpenter, French and Orange Avenues. It contains 211 historic buildings and 3 structures. A notable part of the historic district is the 1876 Heritage Inn. Since 1876, the 1876 Heritage Inn has been known as a remnant of the Orange City Historic District. The historic inn is the oldest operating hotel in Volusia County. The hotel was originally built as a resort hotel and for a long time was the only one in the area. The 1876 Heritage Inn has served as a place for the local townies to celebrate the holiday across the decades and now is still serving its guests who are looking for that antique feel.

The Seth French House (also known as the Fairview Cottage) is a historic house located at 319 East French Avenue in Orange City, Florida. It is locally significant as one of the oldest dwellings in the county, and also as a good example of Frame Vernacular construction from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The house was built for American Civil War veteran and surgeon Seth French in 1876. He served in the Florida Senate in 1879.

Orange City is a city in Volusia County, Florida, United States. It is a part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach metropolitan area. As of the 2020 US census, the city had a population of 12,632.

Sara-Nicole Morales (April 7, 1986 – November 20, 2021) was shot and killed in the front yard of her mother's house in Orange City, Florida, United States. While returning home from her job at a Volusia County library, she had become embroiled in a road rage incident with a local motorcyclist, during which she had intentionally struck his vehicle with hers, an act witnessed by two nearby motorists. The three notified police and followed her to the house, where she confronted them with her fiancé's pistol. The motorcyclist drew his own gun and shot her five times.Morales, who was reported by her mother to be five months pregnant, was pronounced dead following arrival at a nearby hospital. The shooter, who had a concealed carry permit, was taken into police custody and released pending the investigation. Authorities were unable to confirm her pregnancy during the autopsy. Four months later the local prosecutor's office announced it had found the shooting justified as self-defense and would not be filing charges.

WMGF (107.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Mount Dora, and serving Orlando and Central Florida. It is owned by iHeartMedia and airs an adult contemporary radio format, switching to a Christmas music for much of November and December. Its offices and studios are on Maitland Center Parkway in Maitland. WMGF broadcasts with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 98,000 watts from a transmitter on Miller Road in Orange City, Florida. The station can be heard as far as Jacksonville to the north, as far as Sebastian to the south, and is one of the few Orlando stations that covers Ocala and parts of Gainesville. WMGF broadcasts using HD Radio technology. One digital subchannel airs smooth jazz, informally using the call sign of a past Orlando jazz station, WLOQ. Another subchannel rebroadcasts the talk radio programming of co-owned WFLF 540 AM.

WOTF-TV (channel 26) is a television station licensed to Daytona Beach, Florida, United States, serving the Orlando area as an affiliate of the digital multicast network Grit. The station is owned by Entravision Communications, and has a transmitter near Orange City, Florida.

WOCL (105.9 FM "Sunny FM") is a commercial radio station, licensed to DeLand, Florida, and serving Greater Orlando and Central Florida. It is owned by Audacy, Inc., and airs a classic hits radio format, focusing on the hits from the 1980s but with some 90s and 2000s titles as well. The radio studios and offices are on Pembrook Drive in Maitland.WOCL has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts, the maximum for non-grandfathered FM stations. The transmitter is on Miller Road in Orange City, Florida. WOCL can be heard as far away as the Space Coast in Brevard County, and the eastern shores of Central Florida. To the North, the station can be heard up to Jacksonville. Sunny can also be heard as far west as the Nature Coast of Citrus and Hernando Counties. Sunny FM is also one of the few Orlando stations to cover Ocala and parts of Gainesville with a decent signal.

WQMP (101.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to Daytona Beach serving the Orlando and Space Coast areas of Central Florida. Owned by Audacy, Inc., it broadcasts an alternative rock format branded as "FM 101.9". Its studios are located in Maitland and the transmitter is in Orange City. To the north, the station can be heard as far as St. Augustine, to the south, the station can be heard as far as Palm Bay and is one of the few Orlando stations that covers Ocala.

The Thursby House located at Blue Spring State Park in Orange City, Florida, was constructed in 1872. The house was once a two-story structure built from three kinds of center-cut pine that had been milled in Savannah, Georgia, and transported by boat to the site. Louis P. Thursby and his family settled on the inlet to Blue Springs, located on the St. Johns River, in 1856. Shortly after arriving, he constructed one of the first steamboat landings and planted one of the earliest orange groves on the upper St. Johns River. His initial residence was a log cabin that he built. Thursby's son added a third story and kitchen wing in 1900, which is still standing today.A cypress water tank stood near the northeast corner of the house. The tank has recently been removed from its supports. The Louis P. Thursby House is a historic home in Orange City. It is located inside Blue Spring State Park. On May 11, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
