Ballston Spa High School

The Verbeck House is located on Church Street (NY 50) just south of downtown Ballston Spa, New York, United States. It is a frame house built in the late 19th century. It was one of the last buildings designed by regionally important architect Marcus F. Cummings. The building is one of the few houses he designed late in his career, and one of his few in the Queen Anne architectural style. It retains much of its ornate period interior decorations. In 1983 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was used for a time afterwards as the National Bottle Museum, which obtained a state matching grant to restore it. The museum later moved to larger quarters in the village's downtown following a legal dispute with its parent organization. Today the house is home to some professional offices.

Brookside Museum, sometimes known as the Aldridge House, is located on the western edge of downtown Ballston Spa, New York, United States. It is a wooden house built in 1792, one of the oldest in the village, but modified since then. It was originally used as an inn for visitors to the spring waters that gave the village its name, very near its location. The inn had several famous guests; for example, James Fenimore Cooper is said to have written some of The Last of the Mohicans during his stay. The building has been a boys' school, a private residence, a boarding house, a sanatorium, and apartments. In 1970, the Saratoga County Historical Society purchased the building and opened it as a museum. In 1975 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the first of four properties in the village to be listed.

The U.S. Post Office in Ballston Spa, New York, is located on Front Street in the village's commercial center. It is a brick building constructed in the mid-1930s, serving the 12020 ZIP Code, which covers the village and the surrounding areas of the Town of Ballston, Town of Milton, and Town of Malta Designed by Louis A. Simon, supervising architect of the Treasury Department, it uses an extremely restrained version of the Colonial Revival architectural style common on most post offices in small towns from that period. Only one other post office in New York is similar to it. In 1988 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The population of the village, named after Rev. Eliphalet Ball, a Congregationalist clergyman and an early settler, was 5,111 at the 2020 census. Ballston Spa lies on the border of two towns, situated partly in the Town of Ballston and partly in the Town of Milton. The Ballston Spa School District encompassing most of the combined towns of Milton, Malta, and Ballston is often referred to locally as ‘Ballston Spa’ with the village proper being referred to as ‘The Village’ or 'Town'.

The Union Mill Complex, (also Bischoff's Chocolate Factory), is located at the junction of Milton Avenue (NY 50) and Prospect Street in Ballston Spa, New York, United States. It is a complex of three late 19th-century brick buildings on a 4-acre (1.6 ha) lot, and the ruins of a dam. Originally built to harness the nearby Kayaderosseras Creek for textile production, in the years of the Gilded Age, George West converted it to paper bag production and made the center of his company. It later became a chocolate factory, and then a warehouse for a local plastics concern. In 1982 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is now used as a retail complex.

North Ballston Spa is a census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Milton in Saratoga County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 1,338. The CDP is southwest of the center of Saratoga County, in the southeastern corner of the town of Milton. It is bordered to the south by the village of Ballston Spa, the Saratoga county seat; to the north by the Milton CDP; and to the east by the city of Saratoga Springs, the largest city in the county. New York State Route 50 runs through North Ballston Spa, connecting Ballston Spa and Saratoga Springs.

Shenantaha Creek Park is located in the town of Malta, in Saratoga County, New York. In 1993, the Malta Town Board commissioned the Ruhle Road Park Committee to plan a park on 56.1 acres of land along the Ballston Creek and an abandoned railroad track. The land wasn't accessible to vehicles, so the Town purchased an additional 5.29 acres for access and egress of the park in 1995. The park opened in 1997. A portion of the Zim Smith Trail runs through the park allowing hiking, bicycling, rollerblading, horseback riding, and snowmobiling. The forest includes oak, maple, pine, and hemlock trees. There is a moraine where it has been said that bowls in rocks were used as mortars for grinding food by Native Americans, although some speculate they result from glacial scouring. In the park there are remains of a mill that pressed flax seed oil.

Ballston Creek, also called Shenantaha Creek from the Iroquois name for Ballston Lake ("deep water"), is a stream in Saratoga County, New York. It originates at the north end of Ballston Lake and runs approximately six miles (9.7 km) through the towns of Ballston and Malta, descending 100 feet before exiting into Round Lake. "Some geologists find evidence to convince them that there was a period ... when the Mohawk, after its turn at Scotia, continued northeast and flowed through Ballston Lake, then turned southeast coursing its way through the wide valley of Ballston Creek into Round Lake, then down the Anthony Kill to the Hudson."The Rensselaer and Saratoga Railroad, later merged with the Delaware and Hudson, largely followed the path of Ballston Creek north of the village of Round Lake. The former rail bed is now part of the Zim Smith multi-use trail.
