Little Big Econ State Forest

Taintsville is an unincorporated community in Seminole County, Florida, United States, located between Oviedo and Chuluota. On December 14, 1971, it was formally designated as the Village of Taintsville by Seminole County. The population is about 80 people.The community's name was derived by residents saying "t ain't" Oviedo and "t ain't" Chuluota.

The Black Hammock Wilderness Area is a 700-acre (2.8 km2) joint purchase between Seminole County, Florida and the St. Johns River Water Management District. It was acquired as part of a comprehensive effort to preserve significant habitat along the shores of Lake Jesup. This particular area also helps protect important recharge areas for the Geneva Bubble (local aquifer). Additionally, the wetland habitats of this property filter water on its way to Lake JesupThe wilderness area includes a round-trip hike of approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) of trails, through habitats such as mixed hardwood swamp, sand pine scrub and pine flatwoods. Wildlife observed in the wilderness area includes the barred owl, white-tailed deer, bobcat and eastern hognose snake. The includes a boardwalk and trail system designed for local equestrians, mountain bikers, hikers, photographers and other outdoor enthusiasts. The main parking area for the Black Hammock Wilderness Area is on CR 426, at the Barr Street entrance of the Little Big Econ State Forest in Geneva, Florida.

The Lake Proctor Wilderness Area is a 475-acre (1.92 km2) wooded site located in east Seminole County, Florida, United States, near the town of Geneva and to the west of Lake Harney. It can be found by taking State Road 46 east from Sanford, Florida and following it to the entrance on the left (north) side of SR 46 approximately 1-mile (1.6 km) east of the intersection with CR 426. The area includes a loop-type trail that is approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) in length. Habitats such as sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, sandhill and bayhead swamp are highlighted in the area. Wildlife observed on this site includes the wood duck, white-tailed deer, red fox and Florida worm lizard. Benches are provided at several locations. This site's variety of habitats and beautiful trail system make it a popular destination for local equestrians, mountain bikers, hikers, boy scout troops and other outdoor enthusiasts.

It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geneva is the home of the Little-Big Econ State Forest, home of the big and little Econlockhatchee Rivers.

Little Econlockhatchee River (or Little Econ River) is a major tributary of the Econlockhatchee River. It originates at an unnamed lake at 28°33′47″N 81°17′00″W, near Orlando, Florida in southeast Orange County. It is approximately 18 miles (29 km) long, from unincorporated Orange County to its mouth at Oviedo. It is located within the Middle St. Johns River Basin of the St. Johns River Water Management District. It is similar to the Econlockhatchee, with a forest in its floodplain. As far downstream as Blanchard Park, the river acts like a canal. The source elevation is 72 feet (22 m), higher than the source elevation of the tributary of the St. Johns River, the Econlockhatchee River. In August 2008, the river rose a record 4 feet (1.2 m) over its banks due to Tropical Storm Fay. In November 2008, the river became a place of investigation after divers found a bag of toys, originally thought to be bones, in the river near Blanchard Park in East Orange County. The findings were thought to be related to the disappearance of Orlando toddler Caylee Anthony, who went missing in June 2008.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 33,342, representing an increase of 7,026 (26.7%) from the 26,316 counted in the 2000 Census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Oviedo is known for its historic houses and buildings, as well as its population of chickens that roam the downtown area. Although the city has historically been rural, in recent years it has had an influx of new developments to support its rapid growth, due to its proximity to the University of Central Florida and the Central Florida Research Park.

WPOZ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is in Bithlo, Florida. WPOZ is simulcast on several other stations in Central Florida. The station broadcasts using HD Radio technology. There are other Christian music formats on WPOZ's three digital subchannels, which feed several FM translators in Central Florida.

WUCF-TV (channel 24) is a PBS member television station in Orlando, Florida, United States. Owned by the University of Central Florida (UCF), it is the region's sole PBS member station, reaching an estimated population of 4.6 million people in its viewing area. WUCF-TV is sister to WUCF-FM (89.9 MHz), Central Florida's secondary NPR station. The two outlets share studios on Research Parkway on the UCF campus. Through a channel sharing agreement with religious station WTGL (channel 45), the two stations transmit using WUCF-TV's spectrum from an antenna in unincorporated Bithlo, Florida. Channel 24 had previously been WMFE-TV, the main ETV and PBS outlet for Central Florida from 1965 to 2011, when then-owner Community Communications dropped PBS programming in preparation for a sale. In response, UCF and Brevard Community College (BCC) partnered to approve the creation of WUCF-TV, a new PBS station to serve the Central Florida market. The station operated on the primary digital channel of BCC's PBS station, WBCC. Days after the agreement was reached to replace WMFE, Daytona Beach PBS station WDSC-TV announced that it would cease its membership due to financial hardship, leaving WUCF as the only PBS member station in Central Florida. In 2012, PBS programming returned to WMFE, as the station's ownership announced that it would sell all of the station's assets, except the studio facilities, to UCF for $3.3 million. In September 2012, WMFE was relaunched as WUCF following approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).On cable, the station is available in standard definition on channel 2 on Charter Spectrum, channel 4 on Comcast Xfinity, and channel 24 on CenturyLink Prism, and in high definition on Spectrum channel 1024, Xfinity channel 424, and CenturyLink Prism channel 1024.
