University of Agder

Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden, University of Agder (Norwegian :Naturmuseum og botanisk hage, Universitetet i Agder, formerly Kristiansand Museum and Agder Natural History Museum) is the only natural history museum on the Southern Coast of Norway, located in Kristiansand in Vest-Agder County.

Kjosneset is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Vågsbygd and in the district of Vågsbygd. Kjosneset is north of Smiebrygga, south of Auglandskollen, east of Kjos Haveby and west of Storenes.

The cathedral city is Kristiansand, Norway's fifth largest city. Kristiansand Cathedral serves as the seat of the presiding Bishop. The bishop since 2013 has been Stein Reinertsen. As of 1 January 2003, there were 347,324 members of the Church of Norway in the diocese.

Gimle is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It's located in the borough of Lund. It is located near the neighborhoods of Oddemarka and Presteheia. The neighborhood of Kjøita lies to the southwest and the neighborhood of Marvika lies to the southeast. The oldest building in Kristiansand, Oddernes Church, as well as the Agder Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden, the Kristiansand campus of the University of Agder, the Kristiansand Cathedral School, the Gimle videregående skole (high school), and the Gimle sports hall are located within the neighborhood of Gimle.The European Route E18 passes through Gimle, for the most part in a shallow tunnel under the neighbourhood. Gimle was the location for the E18's toll plaza of the Kristiansand Toll Ring until this was removed in 2007. Norwegian County Road 1 follows the Otra River along the western edge of Gimle.

Kristiansand Cathedral School (Kristiansand katedralskole Gimle), known in Latin as Schola Christiansandensis, is a high school in Kristiansand, Agder, Norway. It is the oldest high school on the southern coast of Norway, having been founded in 1686. Originally, the school was located near the cathedral in the center of the town of Kristiansand. Although it represents an old institution, Katta is a modern school, offering courses in general and business studies, as well as in health and care. It has an exclusive collection of paintings donated by former student Reidar Wennesland, and some antique books.

Oddernes Church (Norwegian: Oddernes kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the district of Lund in the borough of Lund in the city of Kristiansand. It is one of the churches for the Oddernes parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built in a long church design around the year 1040 using plans drawn up by unknown architect. This makes it the oldest building in the city of Kristiansand. The church seats about 395 people.The chancel has rubble walls and a semi-circular apse, testifying to the church's medieval origins. The newer additions such as the tower are made out of wood. The church was the main church for the old municipality of Oddernes which existed from 1838 until 1965. North of the church is a parish house.

Oddernes is a former municipality that was located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The 103-square-kilometre (40 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The administrative centre was the village of Lund on the east side of the river Otra near where Lund Church is located. The former area of the municipality makes up the area just west of the urban town of Kristiansand within the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county. The old municipality encircled the town of Kristiansand, and it included the villages such as Flekkerøy, Vågsbygd, Slettheia, Lund, Strai, Mosby, and Justvik. Today, the town of Kristiansand has a borough named Oddernes, but it has very different boundaries than the old municipality had.

The Oddernes stone (Oddernessteinen) is a rune stone from Oddernes Church at Oddernes in Kristiansand, Vest-Agder, Norway. The stone was originally just in the church yard east of the church. In 1990 it was moved into the church porch.

Kjøita or Kjøita Park is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It's located along the eastern shore of the Otra river in the borough of Lund. The neighborhood of Oddemarka lies to the east, Gimle lies to the north, and the centre of Lund lies to the southeast. Kjøita Park is an industrial park.

Presteheia is a neighborhood in the city of Kristiansand (town) which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Lund in the district of Gimlekollen. It is located to the west of Bjørndalssletta, north of Oddemarka, and east of Gimlemoen. The neighborhood developed after the year 2000 has many "rekkehus" and terrace blocks. The residents of the area are both young families and elderly people. The view from Presteheia is magnificent overlooking the borough of Lund, the University of Agder, and the downtown Kvadraturen area. You can see both Oksoy and the island of Odderøya from the top of Presteheia.

Lund is a borough and district in the city of Kristiansand which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is the second largest borough in the city after Vågsbygd. In 2015, the population was about 30,000. Lund is divided into 4 districts: Lund (centrum), Gimlekollen, Justvik, and Ålefjær. Lund lies to the north and west of Topdalsfjorden-Ålefjærfjorden and to the East of the river Otra. The borough of Oddernes lies to the east and the boroughs of Kvadraturen and Grim lie to the west. North of the borough is the municipality of Vennesla. The University of Agder is located at Lund along with Kristiansand Cathedral School. The Church of Norway has three churches in Lund: Lund Church, Justvik Church, and Oddernes Church. Oddernes Church was one of the first churches to be built in Kristiansand. There are three bridges connecting Lund to the city center Kvadraturen: "Lundsbroa", "Oddernesbrua" and "Christian Quartbroa". Before Oddernesbrua was built, the Lundsbroa was the main way to the east. Today, the Oddernesbrua is a part of the European route E18 highway, and the bridge ends in a tunnel. The Lundsbroa is a part of Fylkesvei 471, which eventually joins up with the E18. The recently opened Christian Quartbroa footbridge is located between the other two bridge connections. Public transportation is available by bus, all local buses headed eastbound have more than one stop at Lund. There are also buses that go "deeper" into Lund. Line 13 Grimsmyra-Lund goes to Kuholmen in Lund, a place south of Lund, while Line 19 Suldalen-Lund UiA, follows Riksvei 471 to the University.

The European route E18 highway passes by the neighborhood on the north side. The neighborhood of Presteheia lies to the north of Oddemarka, Kjøita lies to the west, and Marvika lies to the south. Oddemarka school is located in the neighborhood.The population is about 200 inhabitants.
