Blue Mountain High School
Blue Mountain High School is a rural public high school in Schuylkill Haven in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1957 and renovated from 1999 to 2001. It is part of the Blue Mountain School District. By 2015, enrollment was reported as 795 pupils in 9th through 12th grades. The school employed 58 teachers.An original Wanamaker Eagle was donated to the school when the department store it had decorated for many years went out of business. The bronze Eagle stands in front of the school.High school students may choose to attend the Schuylkill Technology Center for training in the construction and mechanical trades. The Schuylkill Intermediate Unit IU29 provides the school with a wide variety of services like: specialized education for disabled students; state mandated training on recognizing and reporting child abuse; speech and visual disability services; criminal background check processing for prospective employees and professional development for staff and faculty. In 2016-17, Blue Mountain School District began to offer a virtual academy for its pupils.
