RAF Stafford

Ministry of Defence Stafford otherwise known as MOD Stafford, Stafford Station or Beacon Barracks is a Ministry of Defence site in Stafford, in England.

Astonfields Balancing Lakes is a local nature reserve on the north-eastern edge of Stafford, in Staffordshire, England. The main purpose of the balancing lakes is flood defence; the site has also been developed for wildlife habitats. Its area is about 4 hectares (9.9 acres), and it is designated a Grade 1 Site of Biological Importance.

The Stafford Hospital scandal concerns poor care and high mortality rates amongst patients at the Stafford Hospital, Stafford, England, during the first decade of the 21st century. The hospital was run by the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, and supervised by the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority. It has been renamed County Hospital. The scandal also resulted in the resignation of NHS Chief Sir David Nicholson in 2013.

County Hospital is an acute hospital with less than 200 inpatient beds, opened in 1983. It is the main hospital in Stafford, England. The hospital is managed by University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. County Hospital's Accident and Emergency unit is the only such facility in Stafford. Wards at County Hospital are numbered, with the exception of specialist units. The hospital changed its name on 1 November 2014 from Stafford Hospital to County Hospital as part of the dissolution of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust.

Beaconside is an area in Stafford, Staffordshire, England. The district is home to the Stafford branch of Staffordshire University along with the Ministry of Defence site MoD Stafford (which is a former RAF base). Mid Staffordshire Postgraduate Medical Centre is a Medical Education establishment situated in Stafford, England. The Centre is located in the grounds of County Hospital, and opened in 1986.The centre includes conference rooms, lecture theatres, a library, and the remaining buildings that belonged to the demolished Coton Hill Asylum, consisting of a lodge building and a chapel.

Littleworth is a former village now forming part of the eastern end of the county town of Stafford in the English county of Staffordshire. Littleworth is a relatively diverse area of Stafford, ranging from terraced former council-owned estates on its western side to more up-market housing on the eastern side and bookended at each end by a nature reserve. Running through the centre of Littleworth is Weston Road, which forms part of the main route between Stafford and Uttoxeter, while Tixall Road leads to Tixall, the Haywoods and Rugeley. The town's major hospital, Stafford District General, lies within Littleworth, while the fire station and Staffordshire University lie just to the east of the boundary with Milford ward. The major source of employment in Littleworth is Perkins factory (formerly known as Dorman Diesels) which makes powerplants for marine and other applications, although many residents commute to Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent. Littleworth contains a post office, three public houses (the Metropolitan Bar, the Prince of Wales and the Morris Man), one bowling green and one of the town's largest allotments.

Hopton is a village in the civil parish of Hopton and Coton and is within the English county of Staffordshire.

Stafford Common railway station was a former British railway station on the outskirts of Stafford. It was opened by the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway in 1874 about seven years after the line opened. There was a single platform with a stationmaster's office and waiting room, but it included a goods yard and an engine shed. It became the headquarters of the line, to reduce dependence on the LNWR at Stafford station. The Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway was purchased for £100,000 by the Great Northern Railway in July 1881 and the line subsequently passed into LNER ownership with Railway Grouping in 1923. The original station was to the southwest of the Marston Road bridge (now Common Road). When the GNR doubled the line, the station was rebuilt on the other side of the bridge and bordering on Aston Terrace. It had two platforms and opened in 1882. The station buildings were on the bridge, timber throughout, with covered steps to the platforms where there were small shelters. Passenger services finished in 1939, though it remained open as Stafford Common Air Ministry Sidings until 1952. Both of the station's platforms remain in situ, albeit under vegetation, and the line through the station has been converted into a public footpath. From there the line climbed steeply at 1 in 70 before falling at 1 in 75 to Salt and Sandon.

St George's Hospital is a mental health facility in Stafford, Staffordshire, England. The main building is no longer in use but survives and is a Grade II listed building.

HM Prison Stafford is a Category C men's prison, located in Stafford, Staffordshire, England. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. In 2014 it became a sex offender-only jail.
