Upland Hills School

Bald Mountain State Recreation Area is a 4,637-acre (1,877 ha) state park located near Lake Orion, Michigan off M-24. It consists of some of the most rugged terrain in southeastern Michigan. The recreation area is composed of a North Unit and a South Unit, which are not contiguous. The South Unit itself includes two parts separated by M-24 (Lapeer Road), but the section west of M-24 has no recreational facilities or trails and is primarily undeveloped forest and grassy plains segmented by a few through-roads. It is a popular recreation area for day users, hunters, and fishermen. Hunting includes deer, rabbit, squirrel, Canada goose, woodchuck, duck, raccoon, and woodcock. Fishing includes bass, pike, panfish, and trout. The park also includes a rifle and a sporting clays range.Bald Mountain gained widespread attention when it was the location of two assisted suicides performed by Dr. Jack Kevorkian in 1991.Bald Mountain's South Unit is adjacent to the grounds of Lake Orion High School. Some of the land that is now part of Bald Mountain had previously been a part of the Scripps Mansion.

Lakeville Lake is an all-sports, 460-acre (190 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake located in the northeast part of the county in Addison Township. The lake is 68 feet (21 m) deep and is one of the largest lakes in Oakland County. The all-sports lake has a public boat launch.

Lakeville Swamp Nature Sanctuary is a 76-acre (31 ha) sanctuary located in northeastern Oakland County, Michigan. It is maintained and preserved by the Michigan Nature Association.

Lake Orion Historic District is a commercial and residential historic district located in Lake Orion, Michigan and roughly bounded by Elizabeth Street, Hauxwell Drive, Front Street, and Lapeer Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Lake Orion Community Schools is a school district headquartered in Lake Orion, Michigan, serving students from the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township; and small parts of Oxford Township, Oakland Township, and Independence Township.

Addison Township is a civil township of northeast Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 6,351.The Township was named for pioneer settler Addison Chamberlain.

The Axford-Coffin Farm, also known as Cranberry Lake Farm, is a farmstead located at 384-388 West Predmore Road in Oakland Charter Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The Indian Lake Road Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge which now carries a hiking/biking path over Indian Lake Road, just east of M-24 near Orion, Michigan. It is one of only a small number of stone arch railroad bridges known to exist in Michigan. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Lake Orion ( ORR-ee-ən) is a village in the northern outskirts of Metro Detroit in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,973 at the 2010 census. "Lake Orion" can refer to either the village or the much larger Orion Township, of which the village is a part. Lake Orion began as a resort town and over time has incorporated elements of a bedroom community.

Trout Creek is a 6.5-mile-long (10.5 km) tributary of Paint Creek in Oakland County, Michigan, in the United States. Via Paint Creek and the Clinton River, it is a tributary of Lake St. Clair. Trout Creek flows through the Bald Mountain Recreation Area and is one of two designated trout streams in Oakland County, the other being Paint Creek.

The Charter Township of Oakland is a charter township on the north Oakland County outskirts of Metro Detroit, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is colloquially referred to as "Oakland Township". The population was 16,779 at the 2010 census.Oakland Township is less densely populated than neighboring townships to the west, south, and east; and retains many elements of a rural, wooded residential bedroom community. Lake Orion is an all-sports, 470-acre lake in Orion Township in Oakland County, Michigan. It has a maximum depth of 58 feet (18 m). The lake is located within the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township. It is the eighth largest lake by area in Oakland County, Michigan. The current area of the lake was formed by a collection of smaller lakes over time, beginning with the damming of Paint Creek in the 1830s. Canals have also been dredged to maximize lake frontage. There is a public access boat launch on the northern side of the lake. It is administered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
