Lake Auburn is a lake and reservoir in Auburn, Maine. The Lake has a total area of 2,260 acres (910 ha) and a maximum depth of 118 feet (36 m). It is the water supply for the Lewiston-Auburn area. The lake is closed to most recreational activity, including ice fishing and swimming. In 2013, the Lake experienced several small algal blooms, though the fishing conditions and local water supply were not extensively harmed by the change in conditions. Some of Maine's most sought after fish species are found in the lake, including Salmon, Lake Trout, and Brook Trout. In recent years, Lake Auburn has also seen rising populations of warm water fish species such as Largemouth Bass and Chain Pickerel, which are now thriving in soft, shallow areas of the lake. The rise of warmwater fish in the lake may have an impact on native Coldwater fishes in the near future.

WIGY (1240 AM) is a radio station owned by Bennett Radio Group that is licensed to serve Lewiston, Maine. WIGY airs a classic hits radio format. Its programming is also heard on translator stations W239ET (95.7 FM) and W288CW (105.5 FM). In addition to music, WIGY broadcasts Lewiston–Auburn area high school sports.

Central Maine Community College (abbreviated CMCC) is a public community college in Auburn, Maine. It is part of the Maine Community College System.

Saint Dominic Academy is a Catholic grammar school and high school located on two sites: in Lewiston, Maine, and Auburn, Maine. Both sites are in the Diocese of Portland. The Lewiston campus is for grades Pre-K to 5 while the Auburn campus is for Grades 6 to 12.

The Gay-Munroe House is an historic house located at 64 Highland Avenue in Auburn, in the U.S. state of Maine. Built in 1878 for Charles Gay, a local shoe manufacturer, it features an architecturally eclectic mix of Late Victorian decorations. It is also notable as the home for many years of Willard Noble Munroe, another leading shoe manufacturer. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

William A. Robinson House is a historic house at 11 Forest Avenue in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1874, it is one of the region's finest examples of Late Gothic Revival architecture, and is the state's only surviving work of local architects Herbert and Balston Kenway. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Webster Grammar School is an historic former school building at 95 Hampshire Street in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1915-16 to a design by Harry S. Coombs, it was one of the first junior high school buildings in New England, and is a fine local example of Colonial Revival architecture. The building is now apartments and a community center, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in September 2010.

The Frank L. Dingley House is a historic house in Auburn, Maine, United States. Built in 1867, it is a high-quality local example of Second Empire architecture. It is most significant as the long-time home of Frank L. Dingley, long-time editor of the Lewiston Evening Journal, the state's second-largest newspaper at the time. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Holman Day House is a historic house at 2 Goff Street in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1895, it is one of the state's finest examples of Queen Anne architecture, and is further notable as the home of Maine author Holman Day. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Edward Little High School is a public high school in Auburn, Maine, United States that was first established as Lewiston Falls Academy in 1835. Philanthropist Edward Little donated 9 acres (3.6 ha) and considerable money to the academy, which was named in his honor. The school is now situated on a 56.25-acre (22.76 ha) tract of land overlooking the city from the top of Goff Hill in Auburn Heights.

The Charles L. Cushman House is an historic house at 8 Cushman Place in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1889 for the son of a major local shoe manufacturer, it is unusual as an example of Queen Anne architecture executed in stone, and is one of the finest residential commissions of Lewiston architect George M. Coombs. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
