Lake Tegel

The Schloss Tegel or Humboldt-Schloss is a country house in Tegel, part of the Reinickendorf district of the German capital Berlin. The brothers Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt spent much of their childhood in a former schloss on the site and on the estate, which extends almost as far as Lake Tegel. The present building was built between 1820 and 1824 by Wilhelm von Humboldt to designs by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. It still belongs to the Heinz family, descendants of Wilhelm. It houses the private Humboldt-Museum, open to guided tours during the summer.

The Tegeler Fließ is a 30 km stream in Brandenburg and Berlin, and is named after the Tegel district of Berlin through which it flows. The river's source is in Basdorf in Wandlitz and it flows down into Lake Tegel. The Kindelfließ is a tributary of it.

Tegel (German: [ˈteːɡl̩] (listen)) is a locality (Ortsteil) in the Berlin borough of Reinickendorf on the shore of Lake Tegel. The Tegel locality, the second largest in area (after Köpenick) of the 96 Berlin districts, also includes the neighbourhood of Saatwinkel.

Alt-Tegel is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . It was constructed by B. Grimmek and opened as "Tegel" station in 1958. In 1992, the station was renamed to Alt-Tegel (Old Tegel). Nearby, indeed nearly 600 meters to walk, is the S-Bahn station Berlin-Tegel, and the rename perhaps occurred to avoid confusion.As it is the end of the U6, it has eight exits, and is an important feeder for people who want to go to the Tegeler See, a recreation site in Berlin.

Berlin Tegel is a railway station in Tegel, a locality of the Reinickendorf borough of Berlin. It is served by the S-Bahn line . Whilst the U6 is located a couple of streets away, it is not possible to reach Berlin Tegel Airport directly from this station.

Flughafensee is a lake near Tegel Airport in the borough of Reinickendorf in Berlin, Germany. Its surface area is 30.6 hectares (76 acres). It was formed by gravel quarrying operations in the period after the second world war. After operations were shut down in 1978, it was gradually taken over by the local population as a recreational lake with beaches and an angling club. The lake is surrounded by woodland, part of the Jungfernheide area.

Borsigwerke is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . This station was built by Bruno Grimmek and opened in 1958. The northern entrance was integrated into the famous brick entrance building of the Borsig Factory (German: Borsigwerke). The walls of the platform are covered with yellow tiles.

The Transmitter Berlin-Tegel was a broadcasting facility for medium wave in Berlin-Tegel, Germany. It was built in 1933 and used as an aerial wire hung up in a 165-metre-high (541 ft) tower of wood framework. In 1940, the height of the tower was reduced to 86 metres. On December 16, 1948 the tower (and a guyed mast under construction, intended to replace the tower) was bombed under orders of the French Commander (Jean Ganeval) at the time, because of concerns of endangering the air traffic of the nearby Berlin Tegel Airport, which was under construction at the time. The transmitters were moved to Königs Wusterhausen and installed there. Nevertheless, the transmitter building is still standing.

Tegel Prison is a penal facility in the borough of Reinickendorf in the north of the German state of Berlin. The prison is one of the Germany's largest prisons.

Holzhauser Straße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. The station was built on an embankment by Grimmek in 1958.

Berlin Tegel "Otto Lilienthal" Airport (German: Flughafen Berlin-Tegel „Otto Lilienthal“) (IATA: TXL, ICAO: EDDT) was the primary international airport of Berlin, the federal capital of Germany. The airport was named after Otto Lilienthal and was the fourth busiest airport in Germany, with over 24 million passengers in 2019. In 2016, Tegel handled over 60% of all airline passenger traffic in Berlin. The airport served as a base for Eurowings, Ryanair as well as easyJet. It featured flights to several European metropolitan and leisure destinations as well as some intercontinental routes. It was situated in Tegel, a section of the northern borough of Reinickendorf, eight kilometres (five miles) northwest of the city centre of Berlin. Tegel Airport was notable for its hexagonal main terminal building around an open square, which made walking distances as short as 30 m (100 ft) from the aircraft to the terminal exit. TXL saw its last flight on 8 November 2020 after all traffic had been transferred gradually to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport until that date. It was legally decommissioned as an airfield after a mandatory transitional period on 4 May 2021. All government flights were also relocated to the new airport with the exception of helicopter operations which will stay at a separate area on the northern side of Tegel Airport until 2029.The airport's grounds are due to be redeveloped into a new city quarter dedicated to scientific and industrial research named Urban Tech Republic which is to retain the airport's main building and tower as a repurposed landmark.

The Berlin-Tegel Russian Orthodox Cemetery (German: Russischer Friedhof Berlin-Tegel) is the only Russian Orthodox burial ground in Berlin. It is located on Witte street in the Tegel locality of the Reinickendorf borough. It is owned and operated by the Brotherhood of St. Prince Vladimir (Bratstvo).
