Docker is a civil parish in the South Lakeland district of the English county of Cumbria. Docker is 4.3 miles north east of the market town of Kendal. At the 2011 census Docker was grouped with Lambrigg giving a total population of 260.In 1870–1872, John Marius Wilson from the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Docker as: "a township in Kendal parish, Westmoreland; near the river Mint and the Lancaster and Carlisle railway 3 miles ENE of Kendal"

Grayrigg is a small village and civil parish in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, England. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 223, increasing at the 2011 census to 242. It lies on undulated and partly mountainous land, 4.9 miles (8 km) north east of Kendal, on the north side of the West Coast Main Line, and west side of the M6 motorway.

Beck Houses is a hamlet in Cumbria, England. It lies south of Grayrigg in the Westmorland and Furness unitary authority area. The West Coast Main Line passes close by and provides a popular viewpoint for railway photographers. The Dales Way long-distnace footpath passes just south of Beck Houses, crossing the railway on the minor north-south road through the hamlet.

Lambrigg Fell is a hill, the highest point of the area of high ground between Kendal and the M6, in south-eastern Cumbria, England.It lies just outside the area normally defined as the Lake District, and the hill is not in the same mould as the nearby Lakeland Fells, being a sprawling, grassy moorland. For this reason, it is not nearly as popular as its subsidiary top to the west, Benson Knott, which overlooks Kendal. However, the hill provides close-range views of both the Howgill Fells and the Lake District, together with the Yorkshire Dales. The hill can be accessed by the minor road linking Docker and Lambrigg Head, which runs across the northern slopes of the fell. However, car parking is very limited near to the access gate. A track runs most of the way towards the summit, passing a small reservoir. The landowner is strongly opposed to use of this track from the top sheepfold onwards and the right of way follows a due south route over boggy ground from the top sheepfold. This gives a walk of about two and a half miles. Note that the right of way does not reach the summit and the landowner has acted to prevent those making the 200metre diversion to get to the top. Some 100 metres west of the summit, on the eastern side of the bridleway, the ruins of a small building may be seen. The exact nature of this structure is unclear, but local residents state that it was used as a shelter for members of shooting parties on the fell. It is possible to continue in a southerly direction along the bridleway and complete the walk by joining the A684, Sedbergh Road. There is a large wind farm owned by Innogy just to the east of the summit. The wind farm, which can generate 6.5 Megawatts of electricity, was opened in September 2000 and at that time it was the largest wind farm to be built in England since 1993. The land on which the wind farm is built is out of bounds to unauthorized personnel. The block of land of which Lambrigg Fell is the summit — thus making it a Marilyn — lies in the extreme south-east of Lakeland, between the River Kent and the River Lune. It also contains the Marilyns of Hutton Roof Crags and Arnside Knott, and the summits of Benson Knott, Scout Hill, Warton Crag and Oaken Head.

Whinfell is a civil parish in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. It does not have a parish council but a parish meeting. The parish lies north east of Kendal, between the A6 and the A685. The neighbouring parishes are Grayrigg to the east, Docker to the south, Skelsmergh to the south west, Selside and Fawcett Forest to the west, and Tebay in Eden District to the north. In the 2001 census Whinfell had a population of 152, increasing at the 2011 census to 186.There are nine grade II listed buildings or structures in the parish, including bridges, barns, houses and a limekiln.

Lambrigg is a civil parish in the South Lakeland district of the English county of Cumbria. It includes the hamlets of Cross Houses and Lambrigg Head, and the hill of Lambrigg Fell. The parish has a population of 90. As the population taken at the 2011 Census was less than 100, data was included with the parish of Docker.

Whinfell Beacon is a hill of 472 metres (1,549 ft) in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England, to the east of the Lake District. It is in the far east of the Lake District National Park since the national park's expansion in 2019. It is east of the A6 road and west of the M6 motorway, south of Borrowdale, Westmorland (not the better known Borrowdale in the central lake district) and east of the upper reaches of the River Mint. There is a cairn and remains of a shelter near the summit, but the highest point is a few metres away on the north east side of the wall across the summit.Whinfell Beacon can form part of a 19 kilometres (12 mi) walk starting from the A685 road 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south of Tebay, climbing Grayrigg Forest (with an optional extension to Grayrigg Pike), and following the ridge south of Borrowdale over Birk Fell, Castle Fell and Mabbin Crag, west as far as the A6 until dropping into the valley for the return.It is one of three summits, along with Grayrigg Forest and Winterscleugh, added to the list of Fellrangers in the new edition (2019-2021) of Mark Richards' eight volumes of guidebooks and bringing the total to 230. They were included after the boundary of the Lake District National Park was extended in 2019, adding them to the national park.

Grayrigg railway station in Lambrigg parish, was situated on the course of the original Lancaster and Carlisle Railway (L&CR) (the West Coast Main Line) between Lancaster and Penrith. It served the village and rural district of Grayrigg, Cumbria, England. The new station opened in November 1861, and closed on 1 February 1954 replacing the L&CR station that was located two miles (3.2 km) west of the station and closed in 1861.

Scalthwaiterigg is a former civil parish, now in the parish of Skelsmergh and Scalthwaiterigg, in the Westmorland and Furness district, in the ceremonial county of Cumbria, England, immediately north east of Kendal. It previously had a joint parish council with the adjacent parish of Skelsmergh. In 2001 it had a population of 104.There were three listed buildings or structures in the parish: the 16th-century farmhouse Benson Hall and two bridges.

New Hutton is a village and civil parish in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 348.New Hutton is east of Kendal, and north of Old Hutton. The M6 motorway runs through the eastern edge of the parish, and the A684 road across it east–west.The village is south of the A684. The church of St Stephen is in the centre of the village.There is a parish council, the lowest tier of local government.

Killington Lake Services is a motorway service station on the M6 motorway between Junctions 37 and 36 near Killington Lake in Cumbria, England. It was opened in 1972. It is owned by Roadchef. It comprises a BP petrol station, a Days Inn and a main facilities building with a Costa Coffee outlet and WHSmith newsagents. A McDonald's restaurant opened here in March 2014. It is only accessible to southbound traffic only therefore to access the services while travelling north, it is necessary to continue up to Junction 37 and then come off, turn round, and head all the way back down. However, northbound traffic can use the northbound-only Burton-in-Kendal services ten miles to the south of Killington Lake Services, or Tebay Services ten miles to the north.
