Rembrandtplein (English: Rembrandt Square) is a major square in central Amsterdam, Netherlands, named after Rembrandt van Rijn who owned a house nearby from 1639 to 1656.

The Museum of Bags and Purses (Dutch: Tassenmuseum Amsterdam), was a museum devoted to the history of bags, purses, and their related accessories. Located in Amsterdam's historic central canal belt, the museum's collection included over 5,000 items dating back to the sixteenth-century. One of only three museums across the globe specialising in this field, it housed the world's largest collection of bags and purses.The Museum of Bags and Purses was the first cultural institution in the Netherlands to announce its permanent closure in April 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kloveniersdoelen ("musketeers' shooting range") was a complex of buildings in Amsterdam which served as headquarters and shooting range for the local schutterij (civic guard). The companies of kloveniers were armed with an early type of musket known as an arquebus, known in Dutch as a bus, haakbus or klover (from the French couleuvrine), hence the name kloveniers. The Kloveniersdoelen was located at the corner of Nieuwe Doelenstraat and Kloveniersburgwal canal, both named after the former shooting range. The 19th-century Doelen Hotel now stands on the spot. Two kloveniers are depicted on the domed tower of the hotel, another reference to the history of this location. Rembrandt's painting The Night Watch was commissioned for the great hall of the Kloveniersdoelen.

The NH Collection Amsterdam Doelen is a historic hotel in the Binnenstad (historic centre) of Amsterdam, the oldest hotel in the city. It is located on the Binnen-Amstel (inner Amstel) at the southern end of the Kloveniersburgwal. The entrance is at Nieuwe Doelenstraat 24. The hotel completed in 1883, was designated in 2001 as a rijksmonument (Dutch national heritage site). The best-preserved part of the interior is the central hall with marble stairs and balustrade and artwork by artist Gerrit Hendrik Heinennl.

De L'Europe Amsterdam (formerly known as Hotel de l'Europe) is a five-star hotel located on the Amstel river in the centre of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. De L'Europe Amsterdam is situated opposite and overlooking the Munt, where the river Amstel flows into the Rokin canal. The 19th-century hotel became an official monument (rijksmonument) in 2001. Since 2012 the hotel houses the Michelin-starred restaurant Bord'Eau Restaurant Gastronomique. It is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Freddy's Bar, the bar of the hotel, is named after Freddy Heineken. De L'Europe Amsterdam changed its name in 2011, after being called Hotel de L'Europe since 1896.

The Ajax Experience was a museum dedicated to AFC Ajax' club history in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The museum, located at the Rembrandtplein, was opened on 24 September 2011 and closed within two years after a 9 million euro loss.

Excelsior is a defunct restaurant located in Hotel de l'Europe, Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin stars for the period 1957-1970 and for the period 1987–1992.Restaurant Excelsior closed in 2010 and was replaced by "Restaurant Bord'Eau" in February 2011.

Restaurant Spectrum (formerly Librije's Zusje) is a restaurant located in the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded two Michelin star since 2015.Head chef of Spectrum is Sidney Schutte. Schutte, a former chef of "De Librije" and Librije's Zusje in Zwolle, returned to the Netherlands from Hong Kong, where he worked in The Landmark Mandarin Oriental.On 1 May 2014, this second sister of De Librije opened for business. On 14 September 2014 it was announced that the first sister, Librije's Zusje in Zwolle, would close on 31 December 2014 and that De Librije would take over the location. Contrary to the first "Librije's Zusje", this restaurant is not owned by Jonnie Boer but a kind of franchise.In October 2018 it was announced that "Librije's Zusje" would become independent and would change its name per 1 January 2019. After a refurbishment, the restaurant reopened as restaurant "Spectrum" on 6 February 2019.

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is a five-star luxury hotel in Amsterdam, part of Hilton Worldwide. Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was opened on May 1, 2014. It is the 25th hotel of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts. It is located at Herengracht 542-556, between the Utrechtsestraat and Reguliersgracht, on the UNESCO heritage protected Herengracht (Gentlemen’s canal).The hotel has a historical exterior comprising six monumental 17th and 18th century double-front canal palaces featuring a staircase built by the architect of Louis XIV, Daniel Marot. There are 93 rooms and suites overlooking the city's canal or the courtyard garden. The interior is designed by GA Design from London.

The Groenburgwal is a canal in Amsterdam that connects the Raamgracht with the Amstel. The Groenburgwal is parallel to the Kloveniersburgwal and the Zwanenburgwal, in the shadow of the tower of the Zuiderkerk.

Athenaeum Illustre, or Amsterdamse Atheneum, was a city-sponsored 'illustrous school' founded after the beeldenstorm in the old Agnieten chapel on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal 231 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Famous scientists such as Caspar Barlaeus, Gerardus Vossius, and Petrus Camper taught here.

The Agnietenkapel (Chapel of the Convent of Saint Agnes) is a 15th-century Gothic chapel in Amsterdam. It is the birthplace of the University of Amsterdam and still in use for doctoral dissertations and other university ceremonies, as well as academic events such as lectures and symposiums. The building has held rijksmonument status since 1970.
