Waha

Castle of Waha is a castle in Waha, Wallonia, Belgium. It is the main residence of the Duke and Princes of Arenberg in Belgium.

Marche-en-Famenne (French pronunciation: [maʁʃ ɑ̃ famɛn] ; Walloon: Måtche-el-Fåmene [mɑːtʃ ɛl fɑːmɛn]; literally "Marche in Famenne") is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the Belgian province of Luxembourg. The municipality consists of the following districts: Aye, Hargimont, Humain, Marche-en-Famenne, On, Roy, and Waha. Other population centres include Grimbiémont, Hollogne, Lignières, Marloie, and Verdenne.

Aye (Walloon: Åye) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Marche-en-Famenne, located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. The inhabitants of Aye are called the "Godis" in the Walloon language.

Famenne (French: [famɛn]; Walloon: Fåmene [fɑːmɛn]) is a natural region in Wallonia (southern Belgium). Together with The Fagne or la Fagne, west of the river Meuse, it is part of the Fagne-Famenne natural region. The two regions are often grouped together because they are quite similar both geographically and naturally.

Nassogne (French pronunciation: [nasɔɲ]) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2007 the municipality, which covers 111.96 km2, had 5,045 inhabitants, giving a population density of 45.1 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Ambly, Bande, Forrières, Grune, Harsin, Lesterny, Masbourg (including Mormont), and Nassogne.

Noiseux (French pronunciation: [nwazø]; Walloon: Nwezeu) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Somme-Leuze, located in the province of Namur, Belgium. Near Noiseux flows the Ourthe river for a short distance through the province of Namur.

The N4 road in Belgium is a highway that runs from Brussels to Luxembourg. It starts as chaussée de Wavre at Porte de Namur on the Brussels inner ring and runs south east through Wavre and Namur, Marche-en-Famenne, Bastogne, Martelange and Arlon before terminating as route de Luxembourg at the Luxembourg border. On its route is crosses the Meuse and Lessive Rivers and the Belgian Ardennes. Before the development of motorways the N4 was a main artery for traffic going south east from Brussels and it was dotted with many friteries, cafes and petrol stations. From the 1960s to the end of the 1980s, it has been superseded by the completion of the A4 motorway which runs from Delta in Brussels down past Arlon where shortly after it enters Luxembourg where it becomes part of the Luxembourg by-pass system until it reaches the south of the city where it turns south continuing down to Thionville and Metz in France and onwards. By diverting the traffic away from the N4 the motorway has caused the closure of most of these traditional Belgian friteries. Outside of major towns the N4 mostly consists of dual carriageway with the opposing lanes separated by a central reservation or concrete blocks, but certain sections are still without any form of physical separation and have been the scene of many fatal accidents. The N4 still offers a more pleasurable and scenic route to the south of Belgium for the less pressed driver and for bicyclists. The end sections remain busy routes during the rush hour due to the high number of commuters travelling to and from Brussels and Luxembourg from residential communities all over the area. Stretches of the road continue to be renovated. The N4 crosses or borders 29 municipalities in total. 4 of them in the Brussels Capital Region, 2 in Flemish Brabant, 5 in Walloon Brabant, 7 in Namur and 11 in Luxembourg. The Arrondissement of Marche-en-Famenne (French: Arrondissement de Marche-en-Famenne; Dutch: Arrondissement Marche-en-Famenne) is one of the five administrative arrondissements in the Walloon province of Luxembourg, Belgium. It is both an administrative and a judicial arrondissement. However, the Judicial Arrondissement of Marche-en-Famenne also comprises the municipalities of Gouvy, Houffalize and Vielsalm in the Arrondissement of Bastogne.

Hotton War Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission burial ground near Hotton in Belgium. Most of the British troops who died in the battle for the Ardennes are buried here.

St. Peter's Church, Melreux (French: Église Saint-Pierre de Melreux) is a Roman Catholic church on the Avenue de la Gare in Melreux in the municipality of Hotton, Belgium. The present church, whose tower is flanked by four turrets, dates from 1671, although the 12th-century Romanesque baptismal font and medieval tombstones attest to the existence of an earlier building. The interior furnishings include some beautiful paintings, including one of Mount Golgotha attributed to the artist Riga, and an altar in the Louis XIII style. The church was completely destroyed during the Battle of the Bulge (winter of 1944–45) by the mortars of the German forces, who were fighting the oncoming Americans. Most of the interior was saved. The church was rebuilt after the war and since 1989 has had the status of a protected monument.

Hotton (French pronunciation: [ɔtɔ̃]; Walloon: Houton) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. The municipality lies 12 kilometers from Marche-en-Famenne in the Ardennes and has more than 5,400 inhabitants. The river Ourthe crosses Hotton. The municipality consists of the following districts: Hampteau, Hotton, Marenne and Fronville. There are also several hamlets: Bourdon, Deulin, Ménil-Favay, Monville, Monteuville, Melreux, Ny and Werpin. The municipality lies in the Arrondissement of Marche-en-Famenne. In the west it borders the province of Namur.

Riveo is an environmental interpretive centre of the river Ourthe situated in Hotton, Belgium, since April 2007.
