Paytonville is an unincorporated community in Wauponsee Township, Grundy County, Illinois, United States. Paytonville is located along Southmoor Road near Illinois Route 47, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of Morris.

The Mazon River or Mazon Creek (), is a tributary of the Illinois River in the United States. The confluence is near Morris, Illinois.The Mazon River is associated with the Mazon Creek fossils of the Francis Creek Shale, which are also exposed in strip mines and quarries near the River. This fossil bed includes well-preserved fossils from the Pennsylvanian period of the Paleozoic era and is a world-famous Lagerstätten site. The Mazon River is approximately 28 miles (45 km) in length, with the West Fork considered the main branch. The river was named in honor of William Mason, a pioneer settler.

William G. Stratton State Park is an Illinois state park in Morris, Grundy County, Illinois, United States. It is named after Illinois Governor William Stratton, and was developed in 1959 to provide public boating access to the Illinois River. It features motorboat and jet-ski landing areas, and is bounded by the Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail to the north and the Illinois River to the south.

Gebhard Woods State Park is an Illinois state park on 30 acres (12 ha) in Grundy County, Illinois, United States. Originally was owned by Mrs. William Gebhard, but was bought by the Grundy County Rod & Gun Club in 1934. After paying the $1,500.00, the Rod and Gun club donated the land to Illinois to create the Gebhard Woods State Park.

The Morris Downtown Commercial Historic District is a historic district in downtown Morris. The district includes 116 buildings and a monument; 105 of these are commercial buildings, and 87 are contributing properties to the district.

Morris station was a Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway station in Morris, Illinois. Unlike many old stations, the depot is still standing on the south side of the track just west of Route 47. The tracks were built by the Rock Island Line in 1853. The single track line is now on the CSX New Rock Subdivision. Across the tracks is the former Illinois Terminal Railway station house, now used as a business. The station is considered for service on Amtrak's proposed Chicago—Moline—Iowa City line. There is speculation that Metra's Rock Island District will be extended to Morris.

The Morris Wide Water Canal Boat Site is an archaeological site in Morris, Illinois, which contains the remains of seven canal boats sunk in the Illinois & Michigan Canal. The boats were likely built between 1865 and 1885 and were abandoned at the site between 1895 and 1915, after which they gradually sank. All of the boats were flat-bottomed with a rounded bow and stern. The hulls of the boats are in good condition and provide insight into construction methods used in canal boats of the period. As no fully intact Illinois canal boats from the period survive, the remains of these boats are some of the few pieces of physical evidence which can be used to study canal travel during the era. The remains were first discovered in 1978 after a storm exposed the part of the canal bed containing the boats; another storm in 1996 again exposed the boats and allowed further studies to be conducted on them.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 4, 2000.
