Parkman, Ohio

Parkman Township is one of the sixteen townships of Geauga County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 4,446, up from 4,136 at the previous census.According to the 2020 "ACS 5-Year Estimates Data Profiles", 37.4% of the township's population spoke only English, while 62.6 spoke an "other [than Spanish] Indo-European language" (basically Pennsylvania German/German).

The airport is located 40 nautical miles (12 mi, 19 km) east of downtown Cleveland. The airport serves as the area base for University Hospitals' AirMed 1 medical helicopter, as well as for The Cleveland Soaring Society, a glider club. It is home to Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 5, which holds regular social events at the airport.

Middlefield is known for being the center of the world's fourth largest Amish settlement, and its significant manufacturing base, which includes Gold Key Processing, Inc., Duncan Toys and KraftMaid. Because of its central location, home of the areas' public schools and prominent business and retail presence, Middlefield village is considered the hub community for Huntsburg, Parkman, and Middlefield Townships.

The Hiram College Library was established in 1900 as part of the Hiram College, previously known as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute. The construction of its predecessor, the Teachout-Cooley Library, was funded by Abram Teachout. The collection consisted of books donated by the literary societies and the depository collection. The first of several additions made to the building was constructed in 1923.

Hiram College ( HY-rəm) is a private liberal arts college in Hiram, Ohio. It was founded in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute by Amos Sutton Hayden and other members of the Disciples of Christ Church. The college is nonsectarian and coeducational. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Among its alumni is James A. Garfield, who also served as a college instructor and principal before he was President of the United States.
