It was used historically as a meeting hall, as a specialty store, as a department store, as a professional building, and as a multiple dwelling.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

It was built in 1869, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, transitional Greek Revival / Italianate style brick dwelling. It measures approximately 27 feet, 6 inches, wide and 65 feet deep. The house was built in 1904–1905, and is a large 2+1⁄2-story, brick veneer frame dwelling with elements of Queen Anne and Colonial Revival style design. It has a steeply pitched hip roof, one-story verandah, and paired Tuscan order columns. Also on the property are the contributing gazebo, garage, chicken house, corn crib, scales site, iron fence, and barn.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
