Glanusk Park

The Green Man Festival is an independent music, science and arts festival held annually in mid-August in the Brecon Beacons, Wales. Green Man has evolved into a 25,000 capacity week long event, showcasing predominantly live music (in particular alternative, indie, rock, folk, dance and Americana). The festival site is divided into 10 areas, hosting literature, film, comedy, science, theatre, wellness and family acts. The festival has expanded into other ventures, including setting up a charitable wing called the Green Man Trust and launching its own beer range called Green Man Growler. Previous headliners have included Kraftwerk, Bicep, Laura Marling, Van Morrison, Michael Kiwanuka, PJ Harvey, Fontaines D.C, Devo, Fleet Foxes and First Aid Kit.

The Rhiangoll is a river in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Powys, Wales. It rises on the western slopes of Waun Fach, highest point of the Black Mountains (Welsh: Y Mynyddoedd Duon) and drops steeply down to the west into the north–south valley through which the A479 runs between Talgarth and the hamlet of Tretower and through the village of Cwmdu. It is joined by various minor tributary streams on its left bank including the Ffinnant, Nant yr Ychen, Nant-y-fedw and Nantygarreg, all of which rise on the flanks of the ridge extending between the Pen Trumau spur of Waun Fach and Pen Gloch-y-pibwr. Two tributary streams flowing from Mynydd Troed and Mynydd Llangorse enter on its right bank as does Nant Ewyn east of the village of Bwlch. The main valley was excavated by glacial ice during the course of the ice ages as it breached the watershed at Pengenffordd. Its broad lower section was influenced by the merging of the Rhiangoll valley ice with that of the main Usk Valley glacier which swept down past Bwlch. The Rhiangoll itself enters the River Usk near Glanusk (or 'Tower') Bridge 1 mile south of Tretower.

Tretower (Welsh: Tretŵr) is a hamlet in the community of Cwmdu and District, in the southern part of the county of Powys in Wales. It lies on the A479 road within the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) at the foot of the Black Mountains just off the Usk Valley. Tretower is frequented by tourists visiting the impressive Tretower Court and the nearby ruins of Tretower Castle, both of which are now managed by Cadw. Cadw own the Court whilst ownership of the Castle lies with the owner of Tyllys Farm in the centre of the village. Tretower Church in the village is dedicated to St John the Evangelist. Though the site is ancient, the present church was completely re-built in 1876–77 after the earlier structure had fallen into disrepair. The Green Man Festival takes place annually in the grounds of Glanusk Park a mile to the south-east of the village.

Tretower Court (Welsh: Llys Tre-tŵr) is a medieval fortified manor house in Wales, situated in the village of Tretower, near Crickhowell in modern-day Powys, previously within the historical county of Breconshire or Brecknockshire.

Tretower Castle (Welsh: Castell Tretŵr) is a Grade I-listed ruined castle in the village of Tretower in the county of Powys, Wales. It was built around the beginning of the twelfth century as a motte and bailey castle and this was probably replaced mid-century by a stone shell keep. The castle was enlarged in the early thirteenth century, but later fell into ruin.

Llangattock (Welsh: Llangatwg) is a village, community and electoral ward in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Powys, Wales. It lies in the Usk Valley just across the river from the town of Crickhowell. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal passes through the village en route between Brecon and Pontypool. It is in the historic county of Breconshire. According to the 2011 UK Census the population of the community was 999, with the village itself having a population of around 660.Llangattock elects a community council of ten members who, amongst other things, are responsible for the running of Llangattock cemetery. Llangattock electoral ward also elects one county councillor to Powys County Council.

Crickhowell High School is an English medium co-educational secondary school situated in the town of Crickhowell in the county of Powys, Wales, within the Brecon Beacons National Park. The school was built to meet the needs of the growing community and opened as a new school in 1983. It now has about 920 pupils, but was only originally intended to hold 550. The school attempted to meet the potential overcrowding issues by expanding the main building, installing new IT devices throughout the complex, and building a larger, more modern "6th Form block" for the 180 students studying A/AS levels.

Crickhowell Bridge is an 18th-century bridge that spans the River Usk in Crickhowell, Powys, Wales. The main A4077 road to Gilwern crosses it. The bridge is claimed to be the longest stone bridge in Wales at over 128 metres (420 ft). It is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled monument.

Craig y Cilau is a limestone escarpment in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Powys, Wales. It was declared a national nature reserve in 1959 because of its importance for wildlife, particularly plants. It is situated on the north side of Mynydd Llangatwg in Llangattock community, about 2 miles (3.2 km) south-west of Crickhowell. The reserve covers 157 acres (0.64 km2) and has a varied geology with Old Red Sandstone below the cliffs and Millstone Grit above them. The range of habitats is equally wide with woodland and scrub in the lower parts and moorland higher up. There are numerous caves and disused quarries along the escarpment. The limestone cliffs are home to many scarce plants including maiden pink (Dianthus deltoides), hutchinsia (Hornungia petraea) and the most southerly British population of alpine enchanter's nightshade (Circaea alpina). Five species of whitebeam occur including the narrow-leaved whitebeam (Sorbus leptophylla) and lesser whitebeam (Sorbus minima) which are endemic to Wales. About 50 species of bird breed on the reserve including ring ouzel and raven on the cliffs and redstart, wood warbler and pied flycatcher in the woods. One of the caves, Agen Allwedd, holds a roost of lesser horseshoe bats during the winter months.

St Edmund's Church is located in Crickhowell, in southeastern Powys, Wales. Built in the early 14th century, the church is dedicated to Saint Edmund the king and martyr. It has been known by this name from its establishment in 1303. In a will dated 1576 in the register office at Brecon, it is termed the parish of Saint Edmund. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Porth-Mawr (Great Gate) is a gatehouse on Brecon Street in the centre of Crickhowell, Powys, Wales. Constructed in the 15th century by a branch of the Herbert family as the entrance to their Tudor mansion of Cwrt Carw, it is a Grade I listed building.

Myarth is a hill in the Usk Valley in the county of Powys in South Wales, about 2 miles west of Crickhowell. Its summit at 292 metres (958 ft) is covered by trees, whilst the larger part of its slopes are also wooded. It is listed as a Marilyn. Myarth has an elongate form commonly ascribed to erosion by the west-to-east movement of the Usk Valley glacier during successive ice ages. The River Usk runs along the foot of the hill on its southern side. Myarth forms a prominent feature in many views over the Usk Valley and often features in commercial photography of the area. Though it is ringed by public roads—the A40 to the north and a minor road to the south—there is no public access to the hill itself, which is in private ownership. In 2016, the hill was used as the location for a segment of an episode of the motoring series The Grand Tour.
