The Middle Branch Mousam River is a 13.9-mile-long (22.4 km) river in southern Maine, flowing through the town of Alfred in York County. It is a tributary of the Mousam River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Spiller Farm Paleoindian Site, designated Site 4.13 by the Maine Archaeological Survey, is a prehistoric archaeological site in Wells, Maine. Located overlooking a stream on the Spiller Farm property on Branch Road, it is an extensive site at which a fine collection of stone artifacts has been found, dating to c. 8,000 BCE. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Morrell House is a historic house on Morrills Mill Road in North Berwick, Maine. Built in 1763 by a descendant of one of the area's first European settlers, it is a fine local example of Georgian craftsmanship. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Lyman is a town in York County, Maine, United States. The population was 4,525 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area. Lyman, together with Alfred, is home to the Massabesic Experimental Forest.

Alfred Shaker Historic District is a historic district in Alfred, Maine, with properties on both sides of Shaker Hill Road. The area had its first Shaker "believers" in 1783 following visiting with Mother Ann Lee and became an official community starting in 1793 when a meetinghouse was built. It was home to Maine's oldest and largest Shaker community. Two notable events were the songwriting of Joseph Brackett, including, according to most accounts, Simple Gifts, and the spiritual healing of the sick by the Shakers. When the Alfred Shakers products and goods were no longer competitive with mass-produced products and the membership had dwindled significantly, the village was closed in 1931 and members moved to Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, also in Maine. In memory of the influence that the Shaker village had on the community, the Shaker Village Museum was founded by the Friends of the Alfred Shaker Museum and in 2001 the village, or historic district, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1931 the farmland, village and buildings were acquired by the Brothers of Christian Instruction, now called the Notre Dame Spiritual Center.

The Kennebunk River is a 17.6-mile-long (28.3 km) river in York County, Maine in the United States. It drains a settled rural area southwest of Portland, emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. It rises in central York County, at the junction of Carlisle Brook and Lords Brook in the town of Lyman. Lords Brook issues from Kennebunk Pond in Lyman. The Kennebunk River flows generally southeast, passing under Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1. It flows past the town center of Kennebunkport, where it becomes navigable, and enters the Atlantic in Kennebunkport, approximately one-half mile (1 km) downstream from the town center.

The Division No. 9 School is a historic former one-room schoolhouse on Maine State Route 9 in Wells, Maine. Built in 1900, it is the best-preserved of the town's surviving district school buildings, and is now a museum owned by the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Wells Regional Transportation Center is an Amtrak train station in Wells, Maine. The station sits next to the Pan Am Railways mainline, formerly the Western Route mainline of the Boston and Maine Railroad.
