Dhanmondi Thana

Dhanmondi Lake is a lake located in the Dhanmondi residential area in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The lake was originally a dead channel of the Karwan Bazar River, and was connected to the Turag River. The lake is partially connected with the Begunbari Canal. In 1956, Dhanmondi was developed as a residential area. In the development plan, about 16% of the total area of Dhanmondi was designated for the lake.

Darul Ihsan University (Bengali: দারুল ইহসান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) or DIU was a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded by late Syed Ali Ashraf in 1989. The government of Bangladesh accredited it as a private university in 1993. The Education Ministry shut down the university on 26 July 2016 for internal conflict among the trustees.

The Dhanmondi Shahi Eidgah (Bengali: ধানমণ্ডী শাহী ঈদগাহ), also known as Mughal Eidgah (Bengali: মোগল ঈদগাহ), is located in Saat Masjid road, in Dhanmondi residential area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Eidgah was built in 1640 CE during the Mughal era and has been in use for Eid celebration since then.The structure is a listed archaeological site of the Department of Archaeology and has historical, architectural and heritage values. It is an example of Mughal architecture. Conservationist architect Abu Sayeed M Ahmed wrote, "This Eidgah is the oldest surviving Mughal monument in Dhaka city. There is no second one with the architectural forms and features similar to it."

Junior Laboratory High School was established in 1984 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The school is located in the heart of Dhaka city in the Dhanmondi area. It teaches students from nursery to SSC level in Bangla medium and up to O level in English medium.

Northern University Bangladesh (Bengali: নর্দান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশ) or NUB is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 2002. The university was sponsored and funded by International Business Agriculture & Technology (IUBAT) Trust. Eastern University (Bengali: ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি) or EU is a private university located in Road 6, Block B, Ashulia Model Town, Savar, Dhaka-1345.The Eastern University was established in 2003 under the Private University Act 1992, and later on approved under Private University Act of 2010. The university was set up by Eastern University Foundation - a non-profit, non-political and philanthropic organization. Its founders include academics, chartered accountants, engineers, industrialists and retired civil servants. The Foundation has 30 members. The governance of Eastern University is carried out as per the Private Universities Act of 2010 by several bodies: Board of Trustees, Syndicate, Academic Council, Curriculum Committee, Finance Committee, Teacher Selection Committee and Disciplinary Committee.

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (Bengali: লিবারেল আর্টস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশ) (ULAB) is a private liberal arts-based University in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in February 2002, permission to open was received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in November 2003, pursuant to the Private University Act 1992. ULAB incorporates the values of Liberal Arts and Sustainability into its curricula, through its General Education Department and its Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). ULAB is a research-intensive University, with multiple research opportunities for its faculty members and students. ULAB has its permanent campus in Mohammadpur within an eco-friendly environment providing facilities such as open sports field, library, auditorium, student center, transportation services, interactive court and other necessary amenities.

State University of Bangladesh (SUB) is a private university in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 2002 under the Private University Act 1992.

Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium is a stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh that hosts domestic and inter-collegiate cricket matches. It is the home of the Dhaka division cricket team.

Anwer Khan Modern Medical College (AKMMC) (Bengali: আনোয়ার খান মডার্ন মেডিকেল কলেজ) is a private medical school in Bangladesh, established in 2008. It is located in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. It is affiliated with the University of Dhaka as a constituent college. It offers a five-year course of study leading to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. A one-year internship after graduation is compulsory for all graduates. The degree is recognised by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. The college is attached to the 750-bed Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital. Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Journal (AKMMCJ) is the official journal of the college.
