Calgary Girls Charter School (CGCS) is an all-female public charter school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It currently teaches grades 4–9. Established in 2003, the school operates at two sites. Grades 4-5 are located at the Bel Aire campus, and students in grades 6-9 are located at the Lakeview campus. Students at CGCS are required to wear a uniform. Calgary Girls Charter School is renowned for its "Go Girls" curriculum in which girls talk about image, bullying, and the amount of pressure placed on girls. The CGCS is administered by the Calgary Girls' School Society, a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to administering the school. As one of 13 charter schools in Alberta, CGCS operates with its own board of directors, and is accountable directly to the Minister of Education. As a public charter school, it receives the same provincial funding per student of any public school. With public funding comes the obligation to accept any female student that it is able to accommodate, without charging tuition. Like any public Alberta school, it is allowed to charge fees, but they are not tied to the right of admission.

The Little Synagogue on the Prairie is a small, wooden synagogue originally built in Sibbald, Alberta, just west of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border. Originally called the Montefiore Institute, it was built in 1913 or 1916 by the Montefiore colony of Jewish immigrants who had settled in Alberta in 1910, named after Sir Moses Montefiore. It is one of the few surviving examples of the small, wooden synagogues that were built by pioneers on the Canadian and American prairie.In the sanctuary, Torah is read to the congregation from the bimah and the Torah scrolls are stored in the aron kodesh on the east wall. The congregation face towards the east, and Jerusalem, in prayer. The ornamentation features symbols such as Stars of David, and natural forms.The synagogue was moved to Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary at a cost of over a million dollars in 2008, becoming the first Jewish house of worship to be housed in a Canadian historic park. About 2,000 people attended the dedication of the synagogue in its new location on June 28, 2009.With an area of approximately 74 square meters, the building was constructed on the farm of Joseph, Fanny and Dov Chetner to serve the approximately 30 Jewish families as a community center, school, and house of worship. After the colony was abandoned in the 1920s, the Canadian government sold the building to a family around 1937 for $200. It was moved to the town of Hanna, Alberta and served as a two-bedroom house for the same family for almost 70 years.

Bayview is a small residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located on a peninsula on the southern shore of Glenmore Reservoir. One of the lake's two marinas is located in this community. Bayview was established in 1967. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 11 councillor

North Glenmore Park is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by 50 Avenue SW to the north, Glenmore Athletic Park, Lakeview Golf Course, and Earl Grey Golf Club to the east, Earl Grey Golf Club to the south, and Crowchild Trail SW to the west.North Glenmore Park was established in 1959 as a subdivision after it was annexed by Calgary the previous year. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 11 councillor.

Peacekeeper Park is an urban park in Calgary, Alberta. The park is located in the neighbourhood of North Glenmore, on the former grounds of Canadian Forces Base Calgary. The park includes a memorial wall with the names of Canadian Forces members who have given their lives on peacekeeping and peace support missions with the United Nations, NATO and other organizations since the end of the Second World War, including the current mission in Afghanistan.

Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) is a large hospital. It is located in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on the shores of the Glenmore Reservoir and is administered by Alberta Health Services and formerly by the Calgary Health Region. The hospital contains over 650 beds and provides medical and surgical services to Calgary and Southern Alberta. The RGH is noted for its comprehensive urology department, and is becoming the leader in Canada for urological care. It includes a 24-hour emergency department, an intensive care unit (ICU), as well as day surgery units. It offers a Maternal Newborn Program, mental health and psychiatric services, as well as senior's health and ambulatory care. The Lions Eye Bank, which is a regional centre for recovery of donated eye tissue for corneal transplants, is located at RGH. The building was designed by Culham Pedersen Valentine, and built at a cost of $90 million. It had a total surface of 69,952 m2 (752,960 sq ft), and an additional 23,000 m2 (250,000 sq ft) were added in 1995. Further expansion in 2004 added another 100 beds. The hospital underwent expansion and upgrades, with two operating theatres added to the surgical suite, and vertical expansion of the Highwood Building. The construction included an additional 100 inpatient beds, as well as three stories added to the hospital's North Tower, and five stories to the south side of the hospital. These expansions were completed in 2008.

Bishop Pinkham Junior High School is a public junior high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It has classes for grades 7 through 9, offering French, and English programs. Bishop Pinkham is located in the Lakeview community of Calgary. September 2017 was the last year that French grade 6 was offered at BP. As of September 2017, students leaving the elementary Spanish Bilingual program will enter middle school at AE Cross instead of Bishop Pinkham. At that point, Bishop Pinkham will only offer French and English to grades 7, 8, and 9. The school is named after Bishop William Cyprian Pinkham who was the first Anglican bishop in Calgary.

Eagle Ridge is an affluent residential neighbourhood situated on a peninsula in the Glenmore Reservoir in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The community is known for its unique proximity to green spaces and parks, recreational waterways, and Calgary's multi-use urban pathway system despite its relative proximity to the city's denser downtown core and adjoining communities. In 2014, Eagle Ridge was ranked the 18th wealthiest neighbourhood in Canada and 3rd wealthiest in Calgary. One of Calgary's smallest neighbourhoods by population, Eagle Ridge is physically secluded from other nearby communities due to the Glenmore Reservoir acting as natural boundary to its north, west, and south, while 14 Street W bounds the community to the east. Directly adjacent to Eagle Ridge is the Heritage Park Historical Village, which borders the community to the west on the banks of the reservoir. Other landmarks in the neighbourhood’s vicinity include the Heritage Marina beach, North Glenmore Park, the Glenmore Reservoir, Earl Grey Golf Club, Calgary Golf & Country Club, Glenmore Sailing Club, Calgary Rowing Club, the Elbow River, Weaslehead Flats, Rockyview General Hospital, the Glenmore Landing shopping area, and Chinook Centre. The community is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 11 Councillor. It is represented in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta by the MLA for Calgary-Glenmore and in the House of Commons of Canada by the Member of Parliament for Calgary Heritage. At the neighbourhood level it is represented by the CKE Community Association (Chinook-Kelvin Grove-Eagle Ridge) and is therefore a member of the only tri-community in Calgary. Eagle Ridge is the westernmost, and, alongside adjacent communities Kelvin Grove, Chinook Park, and Kingsland, northernmost neighbourhood in the greater area/district collectively referred to as “Heritage”, of which a total of 10 communities are included.

Juno Beach Academy of Canadian Studies was an Alternative Program public high school in Calgary, Alberta. The Calgary Board of Education ran the program as an alternative for students with a focus on humanities (such as police or military careers). Academic achievement was an area of focus (for those most interested in attending college or university after graduation). There was a particular focus on Canadian studies.

Lord Shaughnessy High School (named for Thomas Shaughnessy, 1st Baron Shaughnessy) is a high school located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Lord Shaughnessy High School accommodates three distinct Calgary Board of Education (CBE) programs. 1. The Career and Technology Centre (CTC) provides CBE students with access to rigorous academic and technical curriculum in preparation for further education and careers in high-skill, high-demand occupations. 2. CBe-learn is the CBE's online junior and senior high school. 3. Chinook Learning Services offers adult Continuing Education (Professional Development and Corporate Training) courses. This location also serves as the hub for Chinook's administration and registration departments for High School Upgrading and Summer School. From 2006 to 2009, Lord Shaughnessy High School housed the Juno Beach Academy of Canadian Studies.In fall 2010, construction began at Lord Shaughnessy High School with the anticipation of creating the Career and Technology Centre. In fall 2012, all programs at The Career and Technology Centre were in full operation. In spring 2013, CBe-learn, the Calgary Board of Education's online school relocated to the Career and Technology Centre, housed at Lord Shaughnessy High School. In fall 2018, Chinook Learning Services moved into the building.

The Career and Technology Centre (CTC) is a centre of excellence, serving high school students in Calgary, Alberta who want to pursue apprenticeship in the trades. The centre falls under the jurisdiction of the Calgary Board of Education. The CTC is currently located within the Lord Shaughnessy High School.

The Glenmore Velodrome is a 400-metre outdoor bicycle racing track in Calgary, Alberta. It is operated by the Calgary Bicycle Track League, and was built in 1974. The track surface is concrete, with 29 degree banking in the corners. It hosted the 1975 National Track Championships.
