Juno Beach Academy of Canadian Studies was an Alternative Program public high school in Calgary, Alberta. The Calgary Board of Education ran the program as an alternative for students with a focus on humanities (such as police or military careers). Academic achievement was an area of focus (for those most interested in attending college or university after graduation). There was a particular focus on Canadian studies.

Lord Shaughnessy High School (named for Thomas Shaughnessy, 1st Baron Shaughnessy) is a high school located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Lord Shaughnessy High School accommodates three distinct Calgary Board of Education (CBE) programs. 1. The Career and Technology Centre (CTC) provides CBE students with access to rigorous academic and technical curriculum in preparation for further education and careers in high-skill, high-demand occupations. 2. CBe-learn is the CBE's online junior and senior high school. 3. Chinook Learning Services offers adult Continuing Education (Professional Development and Corporate Training) courses. This location also serves as the hub for Chinook's administration and registration departments for High School Upgrading and Summer School. From 2006 to 2009, Lord Shaughnessy High School housed the Juno Beach Academy of Canadian Studies.In fall 2010, construction began at Lord Shaughnessy High School with the anticipation of creating the Career and Technology Centre. In fall 2012, all programs at The Career and Technology Centre were in full operation. In spring 2013, CBe-learn, the Calgary Board of Education's online school relocated to the Career and Technology Centre, housed at Lord Shaughnessy High School. In fall 2018, Chinook Learning Services moved into the building.

The Career and Technology Centre (CTC) is a centre of excellence, serving high school students in Calgary, Alberta who want to pursue apprenticeship in the trades. The centre falls under the jurisdiction of the Calgary Board of Education. The CTC is currently located within the Lord Shaughnessy High School.

Peacekeeper Park is an urban park in Calgary, Alberta. The park is located in the neighbourhood of North Glenmore, on the former grounds of Canadian Forces Base Calgary. The park includes a memorial wall with the names of Canadian Forces members who have given their lives on peacekeeping and peace support missions with the United Nations, NATO and other organizations since the end of the Second World War, including the current mission in Afghanistan.

Alternative High School (AHS) is a public senior high (secondary) school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; which teaches grades 10 through 12. AHS is currently located at the Clinton Ford Centre, which was home to the former Clinton Ford Elementary School. AHS was launched, independent of the board, in September 1974 by a parents group. It reflected many of the "alternative education" ideas that were popular at the time. The early philosophy the school borrowed from the ideas of A. S. Neill, who founded Summerhill School. This involved supporting the freedom of children, and opposing the traditional structure and control of most schools. Although, AHS was never meant to be a copy of Summerhill. In 1975 AHS came under the control of the Calgary Board of Education (CBE).

Calgary Girls Charter School (CGCS) is an all-female public charter school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It currently teaches grades 4–9. Established in 2003, the school operates at two sites. Grades 4-5 are located at the Bel Aire campus, and students in grades 6-9 are located at the Lakeview campus. Students at CGCS are required to wear a uniform. Calgary Girls Charter School is renowned for its "Go Girls" curriculum in which girls talk about image, bullying, and the amount of pressure placed on girls. The CGCS is administered by the Calgary Girls' School Society, a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to administering the school. As one of 13 charter schools in Alberta, CGCS operates with its own board of directors, and is accountable directly to the Minister of Education. As a public charter school, it receives the same provincial funding per student of any public school. With public funding comes the obligation to accept any female student that it is able to accommodate, without charging tuition. Like any public Alberta school, it is allowed to charge fees, but they are not tied to the right of admission.

The Glenmore Velodrome is a 400-metre outdoor bicycle racing track in Calgary, Alberta. It is operated by the Calgary Bicycle Track League, and was built in 1974. The track surface is concrete, with 29 degree banking in the corners. It hosted the 1975 National Track Championships.

The Military Museums is a reorganization of the former Museum of the Regiments in Calgary, Alberta, announced by Sophie, Countess of Wessex, on June 3, 2006. The new museum comprises the former Museum of the Regiments as well as the relocated Naval Museum of Alberta and an Air Force Wing consisting of artifacts being acquired.

Bishop Carroll High School is part of the Calgary Catholic School District in Alberta, Canada. The school is named after Bishop Francis Patrick Carroll, the Bishop of Calgary from 1935 to 1966. The school welcomes people who are not Roman Catholic; however, all students are expected to complete Religious Studies courses. Bishop Carroll's athletic teams are nicknamed the Cardinals.

Garrison Green is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located on former Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Calgary, bounded by Richardson Road SW to the west, Glenmore Trail (Highway 8) to the south, Crowchild Trail to the east, and the Lincoln Park community to the north. The neighbourhood is referred to as Lincoln Park South in the CFB West Master Plan and consists of the CFB Calgary's former Lincoln Park Permanent Marital Quarters (PMQ).Garrison Green is located within Calgary City Council's Ward 11.

The Glenmore Reservoir is a large reservoir on the Elbow River in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is controlled by the Glenmore Dam, a concrete gravity dam on the Elbow River. The Glenmore Reservoir is a primary source of drinking water to the city of Calgary. Built in 1932, with a cost of $3.8 million, the dam controls the downstream flow of the Elbow River, thus allowing the city to develop property near the river's banks with less risk of flooding.The reservoir’s perimeter features a scenic, uninterrupted 16km multi-use pathway/pedestrian and cycling trail along the water’s edge, connecting popular city destinations such as the Heritage Marina beach, Heritage Park Historical Village, South Glenmore Park, Glenmore Sailing Club, Weaselhead Flats Natural Environment Park, North Glenmore Park, Calgary Canoe Club, Calgary Rowing Club, and the Earl Grey Golf Club. The reservoir has a water mirror of 3.84 km2 (1.48 sq mi) and a drainage basin of 1,210 km2 (470 sq mi). From 2017 to 2020, the City of Calgary rehabilitated and upgraded the Glenmore Dam at a cost of $81 million.The reservoir is bordered to the west by the Tsuut’ina Nation reserve, to the north by the communities of Lakeview and North Glenmore, to the east by the neighbourhood Eagle Ridge (which sits on the peninsula alongside Heritage Park), and to the south by the communities of Oakridge, Palliser, and Pump Hill.
