Battle of Tatarahama (1569)

The 1336 battle of Tatarahama (多々良浜の戦い, Tatarahama no tatakai) was one of many battles constituting the Nanboku-chō Wars in Japan, in which two rival Imperial Courts battled for legitimacy and control of the country. It was decisive in securing control of the island of Kyūshū for the Northern Imperial Court, which was closely connected to the Ashikaga shogunate.

Its subway station's symbol mark is a brown conch which because Kaizuka's initials Chinese character 貝 means seashell and spiral is suggestive of transportation's junction. The subway line coming from the city center terminates at this station and the Nishitetsu train line continues to Nishitetsu Kashii Station and Nishitetsu Shingū Station.

The Fukuoka Masjid Al Nour Islamic Culture Center (Fukuoka Mosque)(アン　ヌール　イスラム文化センター　福岡マスジド) is the first mosque on the island of Kyūshū in Japan. It is located in Hakozaki, Higashi-ku in the city of Fukuoka. It was built in 2009, and officially opened on 12 April 2009. Fukuoka Mosque aims to serve about 1,000 Muslims in Fukuoka Prefecture, as well to serve people in Japan interested in Islam.The mosque arranges daily prayers, Friday prayers, and Eid prayers on a regular basis. It occasionally, arranges program for conversion into Islam, Muslim marriage, and funeral prayers. The cultural wing of the mosque offers weekend Arabic language lessons and cooking classes once every three months. It also arranges seminars and dialogue sessions occasionally.Kyushu University Muslim Student Association (KUMSA) initiated the idea of building a mosque in 1998, and started collecting donations. In 2006, land was purchased, and a construction plan was started. After a series of discussions with neighbors, the construction was started in 2008, and it was completed around a year later. The first floor is mainly set for the men's prayer room, the second floor is the women's prayer room. On the basement level, there is a multi-purpose hall, a library, and a kitchen. The third floor has classrooms and a kitchen.

Kyushu University (九州大学, Kyūshū Daigaku), abbreviated to Kyudai (九大, Kyūdai), is a Japanese national university located in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. It was the 4th Imperial University in Japan, ranked as 6th in the 2020 Times Higher Education Japan University Rankings, one of the top 10 Designated National University and selected as a Top Type university of Top Global University Project by the Japanese government. Kyudai is considered one of Japan's most prestigious research-oriented universities and is a member of the Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities along with the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Peking University and others. The history of Kyushu University can be traced back to the medical schools of the Fukuoka Domain (福岡藩 Fukuoka han) established in 1867. The school was reorganized into Fukuoka Medical College of Kyoto Imperial University in 1903. It became independent as Kyushu Imperial University in 1911. Albert Einstein visited the university on December 25, 1922.There are 2,089 foreign students (As of 2016) enrolled in the university. It was chosen for the Global 30 university program, and has been selected to the top 13 global university project.

The 1953 North Kyushu flood was a flood which hit Northern Kyushu, Japan (Fukuoka Prefecture, Saga Prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture and Ōita Prefecture) in June 1953. The flood was caused by cloudbursts and prolonged rain from the Meiyu rain front which dropped 1,000 mm (3.3 ft.) of rain over Mount Aso and Mount Hiko. This downpour resulted in the overflow of many of the surrounding rivers, such as the Chikugo River. The flood was a major disaster with 771 people dead or missing, 450,000 houses flooded, and about 1 million people affected. Due to the severity of the disaster, flood control measures along rivers in Northern Kyushu were fundamentally revised, with many of the changes still in place. The flood was not given an official name by the Japan Meteorological Agency which has resulted in it being referred to differently in a variety of sources. In Kumamoto Prefecture, Shirakawa Great Flood (白川大水害) or 6.26 Flood (6.26水害) are usually used. In Kitakyushu city, they tend to use North Kyushu Great Flood (北九州大水害).

Hakozaki-Kyūdai-mae Station (箱崎九大前駅, Hakozaki-Kyūdai-mae-eki) is a subway station on the Fukuoka City Subway Hakozaki Line in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka, Japan. Kyūdai-mae means "in front of Kyushu University". Its station symbol is a pine branch with leaves which branch look like Kyushu University's initials Chinese character 九, because a pine‐covered area is named Ciyono-matsubara (千代の松原) is near this station.
