The W. C. Clemmons Mound is a Native American mound in the south central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located near the unincorporated community of Fox, it lies in the middle of a farm field near a creek. A cone measuring approximately 22 feet (6.7 m) high and 144 feet (44 m) in diameter, its shape is almost exactly circular.The mound is significant as a potential archaeological site. Although it has never been excavated, its location has led archaeologists to conclude that it was built by people of the Adena culture, who constructed many burial mounds for their leaders; typical Adena mounds contain log tombs that house the bodies of high-ranking members of society along with plentiful grave goods. Because the mound has never been excavated, it is exceedingly well preserved; perhaps no other mound in Pickaway County has been so little changed since the region was settled.In 1974, the Clemmons mound was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, due to its archaeological value.

Pickaway County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,539. Its county seat is Circleville. Its name derives from the Pekowi band of Shawnee Indians, who inhabited the area. (See List of Ohio county name etymologies.) Pickaway County is part of the Columbus, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Robtown is an unincorporated community in Pickaway County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. The area is located approximately five miles west of South Bloomfield, Ohio and three miles northeast of Darbyville, Ohio, on the banks of Grave Run, a tributary of the Scioto River, and at the crossroads of Ohio State Route 316 and Turney Caldwell Road.

Bowers Landfill, also known as Island Road Landfill, is a former privately owned landfill site covering 12 acres (5 hectares) near Circleville, Ohio, on the Scioto River floodplain. The site operated between 1958 and 1968. Initially only domestic refuse was accepted, but in 1963 the site began accepting chemical waste from DuPont and PPG Industries. Waste was either dumped on the ground and covered with a layer of soil, or incinerated in the open air. Analysis of surface water undertaken by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 1980 revealed the presence of contaminants and in 1983 the site was added to the National Priorities List (NPL) of hazardous waste sites eligible for long-term remedial action (cleanup) financed under the federal Superfund program. The site was cleaned up in 1993, removed from the NPL in 1997, and is still up for review every five years.

South Bloomfield is a village in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,143 at the 2020 census. Since the 2000 census, it has consistently been one of the fastest-growing villages in central Ohio.

Millport is an unincorporated community in Pickaway County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. The community is located between Ashville, Ohio, and South Bloomfield, Ohio, on Ohio State Route 316. As of 2019, the Millport has approximately 50 homes and has been incorporated into the Village of South Bloomfield.

Calamus Swamp is a 19-acre (0.077 km2) public preserve located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Circleville in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. It has a natural kettle lake/wetland and is owned by the Columbus Audubon, the local chapter of Audubon.

Ralph C. Starkey High School is a high school in Circleville, Ohio. It is a part of the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility. All youth prisoners who do not have a high school diploma are required to participate in the educational program.

Stage's Pond State Nature Preserve is a 178 acres (0.72 km2) nature preserve with ponds in Walnut Township, Pickaway County, Ohio. The State Nature Preserve is located at 4792 Hagerty Road, north of the county seat of Circleville. The preserve was dedicated on August 23, 1974.

Redlands is a historic farmhouse near the city of Circleville in the south-central part of the U.S. state of Ohio. A grand home built in the middle of the 19th century, it has been named a historic site. Constructed in 1858, Redlands was originally the home of one of Pickaway County's more prosperous farmers, Jacob Valentine. The farmhouse itself is a brick structure, built of bricks manufactured on the farm; its foundation and minor elements are stone, and additional buildings on the property are weatherboarded. Its construction and its numerous decorative elements combine to make it typical of estates built for wealthy southern Ohio landowners soon before the Civil War. Particularly significant among these elements are the Greek Revival front porch, transoms above the windows and doors, its prominent fireplaces, and its grand front stairway.Besides the residence, the farmstead comprises three outbuildings: two historic buildings, which are vernacular structures that had been completed by 1860, and one that lacks historic integrity. In 1982, Redlands was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, qualifying because of its well-preserved historic architecture; the house and the two historic outbuildings were ranked as contributing, and the non-historic outbuilding was considered non-contributing. Crucial to the farm's designation was its status as an intact gentleman's estate from the end of the pre-Civil War period.

The Ashville Depot is a small former train station in the village of Ashville in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. A simple weatherboaded building that was constructed in 1876, it was once the commercial center of the area.Ashville was a railroad town that was founded at the intersection of a railroad line and a leading rural road. As the connecting point between the two modes of transportation, its train station was a central part of the life of the village and of the surrounding Harrison Township. In 1876, the short-lived Scioto Valley Railway erected a new station in Ashville; its construction helped to make the newly founded village the most important community in northern Pickaway County.After a century of use, the depot was closed in 1976. Railroad officials planned its destruction, but local residents formed a historic preservation organization to save it; accordingly, it was relocated and placed on concrete blocks. The depot was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, qualifying because of its historic architecture and its important place in local history; among the reasons it qualified was its status as the only extant train station built by the Scioto Valley Railway. Such a designation is unusual, for buildings that have been moved from their original locations are not normally eligible for inclusion on the National Register.
