Achterste Erm is a hamlet in the Netherlands, it is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. Achterste Erm is a statistical entity, but the postal authorities have placed it under Erm. It was first mentioned in 1936 as Achterste-Erm, and means "the furthers part of Erm".

Dalerveen is a village in the Netherlands and it is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. Dalerveen started during the peat excavation from Dalen. There were originally two villages: De Haar and Dalerveen. It was first mentioned in 1597 as "uth Daler venne" and means "the bog near Dalen". In 1840, it was home to 275 people. In the 1940, De Haar and Dalerveen merged into a single village.

Erm is a village in the Netherlands and is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. It was first mentioned between 1267 and 1290 as Erme. The etymology is unknown. It used to be referred to as Voorste Erm to distinguish from Achterste Erm. In 1840, it was home to 400 people. In 1885, a school was built in the village, but closed in 2019.

Ermerveen is a hamlet in the Netherlands and it is part of the Emmen municipality in Drenthe. Ermerveen is a statistical entity, however the postal authorities have placed it under Veenoord. It was first mentioned in the 1850s as Het ErmerVeen, and means "the bog near Erm. It is located outside the build-up area.

De Hoop (English: 'The Hope') is a smock mill in Sleen, Drenthe, the Netherlands, which has been restored to working order. The mill was built in 1914 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 33787.

Sleen is a village in Drenthe, Netherlands of about 2,500 people. Sleen has been inhabited for centuries. Much ancient history can be found in the area, particularly in the forests (which are planted, though). At birth and during the Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden (Republic of the Seven United Netherlands (1581–1795)). Sleen became the capital of one of the six “dingspels” (administrative areas) of Drenthe. When Drenthe was recognised as a province, Sleen became a municipality capital, before it merged into the municipality of Coevorden. Sleen has a 450-year-old church. At about 68 meters, it is the highest church in the entire province. Nowadays, it functions as a Dutch Reformed Church. There is also another Protestant church in the village. Sleen has its own supermarket (behind the former police station), library, fish stand (every Wednesday), cafés, a few other shops, hair salons, petrol station, sports park (soccer, tennis, multipurpose indoor complex), horse riding school, houses for the elderly, and other facilities. There are also two schools: CBS “de Fontein” (Christian primary school) and OBS “de Akker” (public primary school). “De Brink” is the “centre” and the old part of the village, with some historic houses and a brick road. This is also where the two churches are, and other facilities like the former municipal centre. New houses were constructed over time, and an area known as “de nieuwbouw” is where the most recently constructed houses can be found. The famous Pieterpad (a 498 kilometres (309 mi) long hiking route that runs from Pieterburen in the north of the country to the St Pietersberg in Maastricht in the south) goes straight through Sleen. The windmill De Hoop has been restored to working order.

The A37 motorway is a motorway in the Netherlands. It is approximately 42 kilometers in length. The A37 is located entirely in the Dutch province of Drenthe. The A37 connects the city of Hoogeveen with Emmen and the German border (Twist, Germany) near Zwartemeer. At the border, the road continues as the German road B402, which connects to the German A31 a few kilometers east of the border. Along the entire length of the motorway, the European route E233 follows the A37.

Diphoorn is a hamlet in the Netherlands and it is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. It was first mentioned in 1542 as ten Diephoorn. The etymology is unclear. Diphoorn is dependent on Sleen, however it has its own postal code. In 1842, it was home to 82 people.

Nieuw Amsterdam is a railway station located in Nieuw Amsterdam, Netherlands. The station was opened on 1 November 1905 and is located on the Zwolle–Emmen railway. Train services are operated by Arriva under the name Blauwnet.

Grevenberg is a hamlet in the Netherlands and is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. North of Grevenberg lies Oosterhesselen and south lies Wachtum. Grevenberg is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Wachtum. It was first mentioned in 1843, and means grave hill which is a references to a pre-historic burial mount known as Hunenkerkhof. The hamlet consist of about 25 houses.

Van Gogh House is a cultural site in Nieuw-Amsterdam, in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. The painter Vincent van Gogh stayed here for two months in 1883; the house is now a museum.

Veenoord is a village in the Netherlands and it is part of the Emmen municipality in Drenthe. It forms a single urban area with Nieuw-Amsterdam. Vincent van Gogh stayed in the Scholte Inn during his Drenthe period.
