Barksdale Air Force Base

The Barksdale Global Power Museum (formerly, the 8th Air Force Museum) is an aviation museum run by the United States Air Force on Barksdale Air Force Base near Bossier City, Louisiana. Hosted by the 2nd Bomb Wing, it maintains a large collection of military aircraft and historical artifacts that illuminate the early days of United States military aviation, the Barksdale base, and the formations of the 2nd Bomb Wing and the 8th Air Force. The museum aims to preserve the heritage and traditions of the Air Force, particularly those of the 2nd Bomb Wing and other bomber units; to stimulate esprit de corps among Air Force personnel; to educate the public about the Air Force; and to ensure proper stewardship of its aircraft, artifacts, and art.

Bossier City ( BOH-zhər) is a city in Bossier Parish in the northwestern region of the U.S. state of Louisiana in the United States. It is the second-most populous city in the Shreveport–Bossier City metropolitan statistical area. In 2020, it had a total population of 62,701, up from 61,315 in 2010.Located on the eastern bank of the Red River, Bossier City is closely tied economically and socially to its larger sister city Shreveport on the opposite bank, though the city maintains its own community college (Bossier Parish Community College).

The Shreveport–Bossier City–Minden combined statistical area is made up of four parishes in northwestern Louisiana. The statistical area consists of the Shreveport–Bossier City metropolitan statistical area and the Minden micropolitan statistical area. As of the 2010 census, the CSA had a population of 439,000 (though a July 1, 2011, estimate placed the population at 444,000). In 2013, OMB changed statistical definitions, subsuming Minden into the Shreveport metro (and therefore voiding the separate Combined Area); in 2018, these changes were reversed.

The Brookshire Grocery Arena (formerly CenturyLink Center, CenturyTel Center, and Bossier City Arena) is a 14,000-seat multi-purpose arena, in Bossier City, Louisiana. The naming rights were purchased by the company Brookshire Grocery Group of Tyler, Texas in 2021.

Pierre Bossier Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Airline Drive (Louisiana Highway 3105) in Bossier City, Louisiana. The mall, as is the city in which it is located, is named after early settler Pierre Bossier. In October 1998, the mall was purchased by General Growth Properties, which built and sold it in the 1980s, for $26 million. It is currently managed by The Woodmont Company. Its anchor stores are J. C. Penney, Dillard's, Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees, and Forever 21, formerly Stage, established with the sale in 1994 by Horace Ladymon of the Beall-Ladymon Corporation. The mall had a theater, The Bossier 6. It was opened September 10, 1982 and was operated by AMC. It closed in 2000. The mall banned smoking on June 1, 1994.In 2005, Shreveport newspaper The Times reported that Pierre Bossier Mall was one of two local malls to increase sales, bucking the national trends toward the decline of traditional enclosed malls. The mall faced increased competition from newer outdoor shopping centers such as the Louisiana Boardwalk but the hot, humid Louisiana summers helped to drive shoppers to the air conditioned indoor mall. In mid-2012, Virginia College moved into an anchor spot vacated by Service Merchandise in 1999.For mall walkers, a lap around the Pierre Bossier Mall including all the niches is a half mile. On June 6, 2018, it was announced that Sears would be closing in September 2018.On June 1, 2019, Virginia College closed its doors and the space sat vacant until May 2022, when Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees opened in the former space.

Shreve City is the area of Shreveport located between the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge and East Kings highway. Shreve City currently houses the neighborhoods of Shreve Island, Broadmoor, and South Broadmoor; between these small neighborhoods is the newly remodeled Shreve City shopping city which includes a new Wal-Mart Super Center, Burlington Coat Factory and other small stores. The Shreve City area also contains a street named after Captain Shreve, after whom the city of Shreveport is also named. The Shreve City area is also a large gathering place for the Mardi Gras parades in Shreveport, running down the route of the Shreveport-Barksdale Highway.

Caddo Parish Magnet High School (CMHS) is located in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. Caddo Magnet was founded by its first principal, Ascension Smith. The school colors are gold and red, and the mascot is a Mustang. The current principal is Mr. Robert Middleton. The assistant principals include Dr. Cedric Ellis (attendance and discipline), Schannon Lanclos, and Kerri Miles (both curriculum and instruction).

Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack is a horse racing track and racino located in Bossier City in northwestern Louisiana. It opened in 1974. The casino features over 800 slot machines. The track specification is a dirt track of 1 mi (1.609 km) & turf course of 0.875 mi (1.408 km).

A. C. Steere Elementary School, formerly Broadmoor School, is an elementary school located at 4009 Youree Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana, and operated under the direction of the Caddo Parish school board.

Bossier High School is a co-educational college preparatory high school in Bossier City, Louisiana, United States.Its former building on Colquitt Street, a Classical Revival-style building constructed in 1923, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 as Bossier High School (Colquitt Street). Its current location on Bearkat Drive, with its International Style architecture, also was listed on the National Register, in 2004.

Parkway High School is a class 5A public high school located in outside of Bossier City, Louisiana, United States. The school is under the directory of the Bossier Parish School Board, and is currently under the administration of Principal Steven Vrbka. Parkway was ranked as a "Top Gains School" by the Louisiana Department of Education in 2012.Alongside the main campus, the school operates property at the Preston Crownover Stadium, which serves as the school's main athletics facility. The school is partnered with Bossier Parish Community College and the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning to provide collegiate-level dual enrollment courses and vocational courses.

The Gold Dome is a 3,000-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was built in 1970. It is home to the Centenary Gentlemen basketball team, Centenary Ladies basketball team, volleyball team and gymnastics team.
