The Barksdale Global Power Museum (formerly, the 8th Air Force Museum) is an aviation museum run by the United States Air Force on Barksdale Air Force Base near Bossier City, Louisiana. Hosted by the 2nd Bomb Wing, it maintains a large collection of military aircraft and historical artifacts that illuminate the early days of United States military aviation, the Barksdale base, and the formations of the 2nd Bomb Wing and the 8th Air Force. The museum aims to preserve the heritage and traditions of the Air Force, particularly those of the 2nd Bomb Wing and other bomber units; to stimulate esprit de corps among Air Force personnel; to educate the public about the Air Force; and to ensure proper stewardship of its aircraft, artifacts, and art.

Pierre Bossier Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Airline Drive (Louisiana Highway 3105) in Bossier City, Louisiana. The mall, as is the city in which it is located, is named after early settler Pierre Bossier. In October 1998, the mall was purchased by General Growth Properties, which built and sold it in the 1980s, for $26 million. It is currently managed by The Woodmont Company. Its anchor stores are J. C. Penney, Dillard's, Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees, and Forever 21, formerly Stage, established with the sale in 1994 by Horace Ladymon of the Beall-Ladymon Corporation. The mall had a theater, The Bossier 6. It was opened September 10, 1982 and was operated by AMC. It closed in 2000. The mall banned smoking on June 1, 1994.In 2005, Shreveport newspaper The Times reported that Pierre Bossier Mall was one of two local malls to increase sales, bucking the national trends toward the decline of traditional enclosed malls. The mall faced increased competition from newer outdoor shopping centers such as the Louisiana Boardwalk but the hot, humid Louisiana summers helped to drive shoppers to the air conditioned indoor mall. In mid-2012, Virginia College moved into an anchor spot vacated by Service Merchandise in 1999.For mall walkers, a lap around the Pierre Bossier Mall including all the niches is a half mile. On June 6, 2018, it was announced that Sears would be closing in September 2018.On June 1, 2019, Virginia College closed its doors and the space sat vacant until May 2022, when Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees opened in the former space.

The Shreveport–Bossier City–Minden combined statistical area is made up of four parishes in northwestern Louisiana. The statistical area consists of the Shreveport–Bossier City metropolitan statistical area and the Minden micropolitan statistical area. As of the 2010 census, the CSA had a population of 439,000 (though a July 1, 2011, estimate placed the population at 444,000). In 2013, OMB changed statistical definitions, subsuming Minden into the Shreveport metro (and therefore voiding the separate Combined Area); in 2018, these changes were reversed.

Barksdale Air Force Base (Barksdale AFB) (IATA: BAD, ICAO: KBAD, FAA LID: BAD) is a United States Air Force (USAF) base in Bossier Parish, Louisiana in northwest Louisiana. It is contiguous to Bossier City, Louisiana, along the base's western and northwestern edge. Barksdale AFB occupies more than 22,000 acres (89 km2) east of Bossier City and along the southern edge of Interstate 20. More than 15,000 active-duty and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) members serve at Barksdale. The host unit at Barksdale is the 2nd Bomb Wing (2 BW), the oldest bomb wing in the U.S. Air Force. It is assigned to the Air Force Global Strike Command's (AFGSC) Eighth Air Force (8 AF). Equipped with about 44 B-52H Stratofortress bombers, 2 BW provides flexible, responsive global combat capability and trains all AFGSC and AFRC Boeing B-52 Stratofortress crews. The base was established in 1932 as Barksdale Field, named for World War I aviator and test pilot Lieutenant Eugene Hoy Barksdale (1896–1926).

Caddo Parish Magnet High School (CMHS) is located in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. Caddo Magnet was founded by its first principal, Ascension Smith. The school colors are gold and red, and the mascot is a Mustang. The current principal is Mr. Robert Middleton. The assistant principals include Dr. Cedric Ellis (attendance and discipline), Schannon Lanclos, and Kerri Miles (both curriculum and instruction).

Bossier High School is a co-educational college preparatory high school in Bossier City, Louisiana, United States.Its former building on Colquitt Street, a Classical Revival-style building constructed in 1923, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 as Bossier High School (Colquitt Street). Its current location on Bearkat Drive, with its International Style architecture, also was listed on the National Register, in 2004.

KBCL (branded as Praise 1070) is a United States radio station serving the Shreveport-Bossier City metropolitan area with a Christian talk radio format. The station broadcasts on AM frequency 1070 kHz and is currently under ownership of Barnabas Center Ministries.

Airline High School is a secondary school located in Bossier City, Louisiana, United States.

The Bossier City Municipal Building, at 630 Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City, Louisiana, was built in 1926. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.It is a two-story brick building which originally included city offices, an auditorium/council chamber, a jail and a fire station. It was converted in the 1980s to be home for the Bossier Arts Council. It was designed by architects Jones, Roessle, Olschner & Wiener with some elements that can be termed Renaissance Revival in style. According to its NRHP nomination, ithas a romantic and evocative style that partakes of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque, although the effect is heavily dependent upon accent features rather than overall design. Despite some admittedly significant alterations over the years, the building retains the bulk of its original exterior character and would be easily recognizable to someone from the historic period. Hence it conveys its identity and historical significance as a “coming of age” for Bossier City. The Municipal Building’s Italian flavor can be seen in its villa-like asymmetrical massing under a low, broadly overhanging roof (originally clay tile) with widely spaced extended brackets. The asymmetry is minimal, but nonetheless convincing when seen from a three-quarter view. Massing takes the form of a large, low-pitch, gable-fronted main block with a one story projection on the east side and a two story projection containing the staircase on the west side. At the rear is a flat roofed fire station wing. The one story addition spanning the western elevation of the main block, behind the staircase “tower,” dates from the historic period. Its brickwork and windows are identical to the original construction. A series of great round arch windows on the second story facade and side elevations light what was originally the council chamber. Five of these windows span the façade. Above them, in the low gable, is a cast stone tablet with classical details identifying the building.

The Bossier High School on Colquitt Street in Bossier City in Bossier Parish, Louisiana was built in 1923 and 1928 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. It later became known as Bossier City Elementary School.The listed property is a three block area which includes three buildings. The oldest is a two-story brick and stone building designed by architect Edward F. Neild in Classical Revival, built by Caldwell and Co. in 1923. A second contributing building is the similarly styled classroom building built in 1928 in front of the 1923 building. A third, non-contributing building, is a one-story brick gymnasium built in 1955.The complex had a total of 36 classrooms and served all levels of schooling, despite its name suggesting that it would serve high school level only. The town had been growing rapidly, quadrupling in population from 1920 to 1930 and continuing to grow. The school complex was devoted to serving elementary school levels only from 1939 on, when a new high school also named "Bossier High School" and also now NRHP-listed, was built elsewhere in Bossier City.

Margaritaville Resort Casino is a casino hotel in Bossier City, Louisiana. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Penn Entertainment, and uses its name under license from Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. The casino has 26,500 square feet (2,460 m2) of gaming space with 1,200 slot machines and 50 table games. The hotel has 395 rooms in an 18-story tower.
