Surbiton Lagoon was an open air swimming pool located in Surbiton, London, England. It opened in May 1934 though had been open for business since April, and was situated in Raeburn Avenue in what was then the Surbiton Urban District of Surrey. It was situated on the 418 bus route of London Transport (London Country Buses from 1 January 1970), and near to Berrylands and Tolworth railway stations. The lagoon complex was designed by the architect HT Mather. The pool had a maximum depth of 9 feet (2.7 m) and a minimum depth of 3 feet (0.91 m). It was 165 ft (50 m) x 90 ft (27 m) - a huge pool by any standards. The lagoon was closed permanently in 1980.

Raeburn Open Space, locally known as Berrylands Nature Reserve, is a 5-hectare Local Nature Reserve and Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1, in Berrylands in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London, England. It is owned and managed by Kingston Council. but is mainly maintained by local community volunteers. Officially declared a nature reserve in 1992, little was done to manage it as a nature reserve until 2017 when a community initiative began. The site is a linear park along the Tolworth Brook (also known as the Surbiton Stream), a tributary of the Hogsmill River, which is the life blood of the nature reserve. It has areas of mown grass, unmanaged grassland, scrub and woods, together with ancient hedgerows which have a variety of native plants. Birds include jays, stock doves, great spotted woodpeckers and kingfishers, and there are invertebrates such as the ringlet butterfly.The park adjoins the former Surbiton Lagoon, now Berrylands Park, to the south. Rose Walk is to the north and Elmbridge Open Space to the east. There are four main access points: off Elmbridge Avenue, from either end of Stirling Walk off Grand Avenue and Raeburn Avenue, and from Meldone Close. In 2017, the Environment Trust successfully bid for a grant from Thames Water which was to restore and enhance the nature reserve over three years. This project has been a great success and has attracted many locals to support the nature reserve. Work completed has included removing sections of concrete channelling from the stream sides and base, naturalising it instead, building a new wooden bridge to create a trail on the far side of the stream linking to the old concrete bridge, digging a new wildlife pond, clearing invasive plants, regular litter picking and other general conservation work.

Edith Gardens is a 0.44 hectares (1.1 acres) Local Nature Reserve and Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation in Berrylands in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London. It was designated in 1992.The site is abandoned allotments next to Tolworth Brook. The stream is of low wildlife value as it is in culvert with no vegetation. There is a dense thicket of elms and a trip next to the brook which has mature oak, ash and sycamore trees. Most of the site is grassland dominated by oat grass and cock's foot.The entrance in the road called Edith Gardens, off Raeburn Avenue, is kept locked and there is no public access. As of spring 2021, the social enterprise organization, Citizen Zoo, is working to transform Edith Gardens into a small nature reserve, particularly for people with disabilities to help them engage with nature.

Elmbridge Open Space or Elmbridge Meadows is a Local Nature Reserve in Berrylands in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London. It is a linear open space along the western bank of the Hogsmill River which starts at Malden Way and ends at a path between Surbiton Hill Park to Green Lane.The site has a variety of names. It is part of the Hogsmill Valley Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade I. It is also called the northern Hogsmill River Park, but Kingston Council has designated a closed wood east of the Hogsmill and north of the A3 road as Hogsmill River Park Local Nature Reserve.The London Loop long-distance walk passes through the site.

Berrylands is a residential neighbourhood in Surbiton, London, originally forming part of the Municipal Borough of Surbiton, and since 1965 part of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. It is a suburban development situated 10.1 miles (16.3 km) south west of Charing Cross. Nearby places include Surbiton, New Malden, Old Malden, Tolworth and Chessington. Berrylands railway station is 24 minutes from London Waterloo by train.

Rose Walk is a 2.7 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Berrylands in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London. It is also part of the Hogsmill Valley Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1.The site is unmanaged grassland with scattered wild flowers. The main grasses are oat grass, tall fescue and rye-grass. It is located south of the Waterloo to Surbiton railway line, west of the Hogsmill River and north of Elmbridge Open Space. There is access at the junction of Surbiton Hill Park and Elmbridge Avenue.

Berrylands railway station is a National Rail station in the borough of Kingston upon Thames, London. It is 10 miles 78 chains (17.7 km) south-west of London Waterloo and is situated between New Malden and Surbiton.

Hogsmill River Park or Hogsmill Valley is a linear park along the banks of the Hogsmill River in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London. It stretches from the junction of Surbiton Hill Park and Elmbridge Avenue in Berrylands in the north to the junction between the river and a footpath to Manor Close in Old Malden in the south.Most of the site is grassland, which has a rich variety of wildlife, including locally unusual plants such as grass vetchling, devil's-bit scabious and pepper-saxifrage. Birds which breed on the site include bullfinch, spotted flycatcher, lesser spotted woodpecker.The site is a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1. It is also a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) - or several LNRs. Details on Natural England's website are confused. The page for Hogsmill River Park gives the coordinates and description similar to the details on the London Parks and Gardens Trust and Greenspace Information for Greater London, but the map is of a small wood closed to the public called Hogsmill Wood, north of the A3 road and east of the Hogsmill River. Natural England also shows two duplicate LNRs on the same land, Elmbridge Open Space to the north of the A3 and Southwood Open Space to the south.The London Loop walk goes through the park.

Tolworth is a suburban area in the Surbiton district, Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Greater London. It is 11 miles (17.7 km) southwest of Charing Cross. Neighbouring places include Long Ditton, New Malden, Kingston, Surbiton, Berrylands, Hinchley Wood, Chessington, Ewell and Worcester Park. Surbiton is the nearest, about a mile to the northwest. Tolworth is divided in two by the A3 Kingston Bypass and is situated slightly north of the Greater London-Surrey border.

Southwood Open Space is a 12.9 hectare Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in Old Malden in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in London. It is a linear park along the Hogsmill River between the Kingston Bypass opposite Elmbridge Avenue and the junction between the Hogsmill and a footpath to Manor Drive North.The name Southwood Open Space is only used on the Natural England database of LNRs, and it is more commonly regarded as part of the Hogsmill River Park or Hogsmill Valley, which extends north to Elmbridge Open Space LNR. Hogsmill Valley is designated a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1.The site is mainly grassland, with hedgerows of elm scrub. These were mainly dominated by elm trees until they were destroyed by Dutch Elm Disease.The London Loop long-distance walk goes through the park.

Tolworth railway station, in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in south London, is a station on the Chessington Branch Line, 12 miles 6 chains (19.4 km) down the line from London Waterloo. The station is part of the London suburban network of South Western Railway and is in Travelcard Zone 5. The station, like all others on the branch, is built in the art deco style of the 1930s using concrete arcs for canopies; it was opened, as the original terminus of the branch, on 29 May 1938. Station buildings are below at street level on the Kingston Road. The original goods depot is now partly a freight depot operated by DB Cargo UK. The remaining area of the site is operated by London United as a bus depot.
