Cava de' Tirreni

Stadio Simonetta Lamberti is a multi-purpose stadium in Cava de' Tirreni, Italy. The stadium opened in 1969 and holds 5,200 spectators. The pitch is 110 × 65 metres. It is currently used, mostly, for football matches and is the home ground of the Cavese 1919.

The Accademia Musicale Jacopo Napoli (English: Jacopo Napoli Academy) is a music institute in Cava de' Tirreni. It was founded in 1987 by Felice Cavaliere and named after Jacopo Napoli, famous Neapolitan composer. It organizes Master classes in the major musical instruments as well as singing, string instruments and conducting. The music courses have been presented by the Academy Jacopo Napoli of Cava de’ Tirreni since 1987 and annually attract hundreds of young musicians from all over the world who receive advanced training under the guidance of internationally renowned teachers and performers. Among the teachers at the Academy are Leonid Margarius, Sonig Tchakerian, Marco Fiorini, Gabriele Geminiani and many others. Today, the summer Academy of Cava de’ Tirreni can be considered as one of the major musical training programmes in the Country due to the outstanding level of the renowned teaching staff on its roster and the artistic level and number of the participants. The Academy organizes also the Festival of Chamber Music "Le Corti dell'Arte", which takes place in August, where artists such as Michele Campanella, Maxence Larrieu, and François-Joël Thiollier have performed. The Festival takes place in the ancient courts of the noble palaces of the Old Town of Cava de' Tirreni. For almost a decade, the Academy has organized a prestigious course of orchestral conducting held by Bruno Aprea; it aimed at the production of operas that have been performed in concert. During the past years, the Academy organized many events; one of the most important is the Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival in collaboration with the Center for Musical Studies in Washington. The Academy organized also manifold concert seasons and the International Singing Competition "Vissi d'Arte", in Eboli. The port of Salerno, located in the gulf of the Tyrrhenian Sea, is registered in the class of II category of seaports. It is one of the major domestic ports and plays an important role in the industrial and commercial system of the center-south. In 2009, 18,426,447 tonnes and 562,782 passengers passed through the port. Tramonti (Campanian: Tramunte) is a town and comune in the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-western Italy. It is located in the territory of the Amalfi Coast.

The Stadio San Francesco d'Assisi is a football stadium in Nocera Inferiore, Italy. It is the home of A.S.D. Nocerina 1910 and former home stadium of now defunct A.S.G. Nocerina. The stadium was originally called the "Stadio Comunale" but was renamed in honour to Saint Francis of Assisi because there is a church nearby dedicated to him. The stadium was built in 1970, and rebuilt and amplified in 1978 on the occasion of the promotion of Nocerina to Serie B. Renovations on the structure have continued: in the 1986 the grandstand was covered and the tartan track was added. In 2000 the stadium was illuminated. Finally, in 2006 it was re-amplified with the Curva Nord, and the tartan track was once again restructured. The official record attendance is 15,000 from 1979, at a Serie B match between Nocerina and Genoa. In the 1992 the Stadio San Francesco hosted the visit of Pope John Paul II. The stadium is located in the east of the city, in viale San Francesco, not far from the old amphitheatre of Nuceria Alfaterna.

The Principality of Salerno (Latin: Principatus Salerni) was a medieval Southern Italian state, formed in 851 out of the Principality of Benevento after a decade-long civil war. It was centred on the port city of Salerno. Although it owed allegiance at its foundation to the Carolingian emperor, it was de facto independent throughout its history and alternated its allegiance between the Carolingians and their successors in the West and the Byzantine emperors in the east.
