Columbus City Hall is a historic city hall located at 5th Street and Franklin Street in Columbus, Indiana. It was designed by architect Charles Franklin Sparrell and built in 1895. It is a three-story, Romanesque Revival style red brick building on a limestone foundation. It features a steeply pitched slate roof, prominent parapet gables, and four-story tower above an arched entrance.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 1979. It is located in the Columbus Historic District.

Chaos I is a kinetic artwork by Swiss artist Jean Tinguely located inside The Commons, which is downtown Columbus, Indiana, United States. The work was commissioned by J. Irwin Miller, his wife Xenia Miller, and E. Celementine Tangeman (Miller's sister) in late 1971 for The Commons, an enclosed public space designed by Cesar Pelli. The artwork is often simply called Chaos and is occasionally referred to as Chaos No.1.

Bartholomew County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana. It was designed by noted Indiana architect Isaac Hodgson, built in 1871–1874 at the cost of $250,000, and dedicated in 1874. Construction was by McCormack and Sweeny. The building was hailed as "the finest in the West" upon its completion.It is a three-story, Second Empire-style red-brick building trimmed in limestone. It features a mansard roof, corner pavilions, Corinthian-order portico, and a six-level clock tower.: 2–3  The clock tower is 154 feet tall. A six-inch thick, 10-ten clock bell was installed in 1875. The clock's weighted mechanism were replaced with an electric motor in 1940 and a 900-pound weight fell.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 1979. It is located in the Columbus Historic District.

The Cleo Rogers Memorial Library, also known as the Main Library, is the flagship library of the Bartholomew County Public Library system. It includes a branch in Hope, Indiana, and a bookmobile that serves the county. The building was designed by I. M. Pei & Partners and constructed by Dunlap & Company, completed in 1969, and dedicated in 1971. It is notable for its design of red brick with concrete details and its Library Plaza, an urban space punctuated by the sculpture, "Large Arch" by Henry Moore. It is named for Cleo Rogers (1905-1964) who was the county librarian for 28 years and assistant librarian for nine years.

The First Christian Church (originally known as the Tabernacle Church of Christ) in Columbus, Indiana, was built in 1942. It was the first contemporary building in Columbus and one of the first churches in the United States to be built in a contemporary architectural style.The building, designed by Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen, consists of a glass-fronted main hall, with a tower and bridge section. Interior details such as light fixtures, screen and furniture were designed by Saarinen's son Eero Saarinen (who would later design the North Christian Church in Columbus) and Charles Eames. The building was designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service in 2001.

The Crump Theatre is located in downtown Columbus, Indiana, at 425 Third Street, is part of the Columbus Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre is owned by the Columbus Capital Foundation and periodically used as an event space for a variety of acts, including musicians, comedians, and paranormal investigators.

McEwen-Samuels-Marr House is a historic home located at Columbus, Indiana. The rear section was built in 1864, and the front section in 1875. It is a two-story, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a stone foundation, four brick chimneys, and a hipped roof. The building has housed the Bartholomew County Historical Museum since the 1970s.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The Cummins Corporate Office Building in Columbus, Indiana is a modernist office building designed by Kevin Roche. Constructed in 1983, the building serves as the corporate headquarters of the Cummins engine company. It was constructed on an old railroad yard and is unique for being built around the Cerealine Building, which was Cummins' first factory building.

The Republic Newspaper Office is a modernist building in Columbus, Indiana that was originally home to the local newspaper The Republic. Completed in 1971, it is an acknowledged masterpiece of Modern architect Myron Goldsmith, and was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architecture in 2012.

Haw Creek Leather Company is a historic factory building located at Columbus, Indiana. It was built between 1914 and 1916, and is a two-story, brick industrial building. It sits on a raised basement and has a flat roof. It features arched window openings. The Haw Creek Leather Company operated a tannery at this location until 1955.: 5, 7 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Columbus Historic District is a national historic district located at Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana. It encompasses 574 contributing buildings and 1 contributing sites in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Columbus. It was developed between about 1850 and 1930, and includes notable examples of Federal and Italianate style architecture. A number of commercial buildings feature locally manufactured cast iron and pressed metal components. Located in the district are the separately listed Bartholomew County Courthouse, Columbus City Hall, and First Christian Church. Other notable buildings include the First National Bank, The Crump Theatre (1889), Reo Theater, Ulrich Bakery (c. 1850), Samuel Harris House (1853), Keller House (1860), Old Post Office (1910), Franklin Building (c. 1870), Gent Mill (c. 1875), First United Presbyterian Church (1871-1885), Irwin Block (c. 1890), Irwin Home and Gardens (1864, 1910), and St. Batholomew's Roman Catholic Church (1891).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
