Pori Airport

Finnish Aviation Academy Ltd (Finnish: Suomen Ilmailuopisto Oy, FINAA for short) is an aviation school based in Pori, Finland. It is located near the Pori Airport. The academy is a private school owned by the state of Finland, the national airline Finnair and the city of Pori.

Pori railway station (Finnish: Porin rautatieasema, Swedish: Björneborgs järnvägsstation) is a railway station in Pori, Finland. It has VR service to Tampere and to Port of Pori. Since Pori is a terminal passenger station, the traffic is quite moderate. Pori railway station serves approximately 225,000 people annually.

Art Association NYTE ry is founded in 1987 in Pori as an artist group and art association. It is as a launching platform for young artists in Satakunta Region. Art Association NYTE ry begun as an interdisciplinary artist group which included artists from various fields including, fine-art, Cinema and Live-Arts. Many of NYTE's activities take place in the social centre 3h+k. Which translates as three rooms and a kitchen. It includes a theatre, gallery space and computer resource room. There is also an outside yard used for some performances and was started in the 1980s.

Pori (Finnish: [ˈpori]; Swedish: Björneborg [bjœːrneˈborj] ; Latin: Arctopolis) is a city in Finland and the regional capital of Satakunta. It is located on the west coast of the country, on the Gulf of Bothnia. The population of Pori is approximately 83,000, while the sub-region has a population of approximately 129,000. It is the 10th most populous municipality in Finland, and the eighth most populous urban area in the country. Pori is located some 10 kilometres (6 mi) from the Gulf of Bothnia, on the estuary of the Kokemäki River, 110 kilometres (68 mi) west of Tampere, 140 kilometres (87 mi) north of Turku and 241 kilometres (150 mi) north-west of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Pori covers an area of 2,062.00 square kilometres (796.14 sq mi) of which 870.01 km2 (335.91 sq mi) is water. The population density is 71.88/km2 (186.2/sq mi). Pori was established in 1558 by Duke John, who later became King John III of Sweden. The municipality is unilingually Finnish. Pori was also once one of the main cities with Turku in the former Turku and Pori Province (1634–1997). The neighboring municipalities are Eurajoki, Kankaanpää, Kokemäki, Merikarvia, Nakkila, Pomarkku, Sastamala, Siikainen and Ulvila. Pori is especially known nationwide for its Jazz Festival, Yyteri's sandy beaches, Kirjurinluoto, Porin Ässät ice hockey club, FC Jazz football club, which won two championships in the Veikkausliiga in the 1990s, and Pori Theater, which is the first Finnish-language theater in Finnish history. Pori is also known for its local street food called porilainen. During its history, the city of Pori has burned down nine times; only Oulu has burned more often, as many as ten times. The current coat of arms of Pori was confirmed for use by President P. E. Svinhufvud on December 11, 1931, and was later redrawn by Olof Eriksson. The city council reaffirmed the use of the redrawn version on October 27, 1959. The bear motif of the coat of arms comes from a 17th century seal and the motto, deus protector noster or "God is our protector", is also on the coat of arms of the city's founder, Duke John.

IsoKarhu (literally translated "BigBear") is a shopping center owned by Citycon, which was opened in 1991. It is located in the city center of Pori, Finland, along the Yrjönkatu pedestrian street between Karhunpää, Linna and Itätulli districts. The oldest part of IsoKarhu was renovated in 1991 into a property where the Centrum department store, originally owned by Osuusliike Kansa, operated. The department store property, completed in 1973, was designed by Jouko Ylihannu, an architect of Osuustukkukauppa (OTK). In 2001–2004, IsoKarhu expanded to cover the entire block. Initially, the shopping center building in Pori, completed in 1978 and designed by architect Osmo Solansuu, was renovated for the use of the shopping center. The extension was introduced in October 2001. In 2004, the last extension to the corner estate of the Liisankatu and Isolinnankatu streets was built. At the same time, a driveway and footbridge connecting the parking lot of IsoKarhu and the Sokos department store in the adjacent block was completed. In the summer of 2017, Citycon said that it will open Finland's third Irti Maasta climbing and adventure park in IsoKarhu next winter. In November 2018, Citycon said it was planning to have business premises on the street level of Isokarhu, but other floors could include apartments or hotel space, for example. On the other hand, there could even be high-rise buildings on top of the IsoKarhu parking lot in the future. In 2018, the mall had more than 40 specialty stores, the most significant of which were: KappAhl, Gina Tricot and Burger King.

Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (Finnish: Diakonia-ammattikorkeakoulu, Diak) is a university of applied sciences (a polytechnic) in Finland. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Its campuses are located in Helsinki, Oulu, Pori, Pieksämäki and Turku.

Pori Stadium (Finnish: Porin stadion) is a multi-purpose stadium in Pori, Finland. It is currently used primarily for football and stadium is the home of FC Jazz. It is also the former home ground of FC PoPa and Musan Salama. Pori Stadium is located at Isomäki sports center some two kilometres south of the city. Stadium is sometimes nicknamed as the Stadium of Eternal Wind due to windy conditions that are common on the stadium and its surroundings. By the main entrance is a javelin thrower statue by Finnish sculptor Kalervo Kallio which is inspired by Matti Järvinen's gold medal throw at the 1932 Summer Olympics.

Pori Old Town Hall is a former town hall located in Pori, Finland. It was completed in 1841 by the design of German architect Carl Ludvig Engel. Neoclassical style town hall is one of the few buildings in Pori that was saved from the great fire of 1852 as only the clock tower was destroyed. Tower was rebuilt in 1891. The pediment features a Latin description "Curia Arctopolis" meaning "the court of Pori". The Latin name "Arctopolis" is a translation of city's Swedish name "Björneborg". Pori Old Town Hall served the city government until 1961. Today it is used by the city tourist office and other city officials. A restaurant is placed in the basement at the former city jail. In 2008 a statue of the founder of Pori, John III of Sweden, was revealed by the Old Town Hall.

Pori Theatre (Finnish: Porin Teatteri) is a theatre in Pori, Finland. It was established in 1931 as a merger of two local theatres. Theatre director is Christian Lindroos

The Satakunta Museum (Finnish: Satakunnan Museo, Swedish: Satakunda Museum) is a historical museum in the city of Pori, Finland. The museum was established in 1888 and it is one of the oldest historical museums in Finland. In 1980, Satakunta Museum was given the status of a Regional Museum. Satakunta Museum presents the history of Satakunta province and the city of Pori. The collections include over 80,000 artefacts and other objects. The museum's archives include over 300,000 photographs, maps and architectural drawings. Satakunta Museum is located near the city center by the river Kokemäenjoki. The present museum building was completed in 1973.

Pori Brewery (Finnish: Porin Oluttehdas) was a brewery in Pori, Finland established 1853. It was last owned by Danish brewing company Carlsberg and closed in 2009. Pori Brewery was the second oldest brewery in Finland and one of the oldest in Nordic countries. Pori Brewery was established by three local businessmen Anton Björnberg, K.J. Löneberg and Isaak Karström. It was first known as Bayerska Bryggeriet (The Bavarian Brewery). In 1898 the brewery merged with another Pori based brewery and was newly named as Bäckmans Ölbryggeri Ab (The Bäckman Beer Brewery). In the 1920s Bäckman's brewery ended to the ownership of Sulo Salmelin, a businessman from Tampere who owned the Pyynikki Brewery in his hometown. From 1940 Pori Brewery was a part of the Pyynikki Brewery. Since 1959 it worked again as an independent company known by the name Porin Oluttehdas. In 1972 the brewery was bought by Finnish brewing company Sinebrychoff which was owned by Carlsberg from 1997.

Pori Pesäpallo Stadium is a pesäpallo stadium located in Pori, Finland. Since its opening it has been the home field of the Pesäkarhut, a Superpesis team. Pori Pesäpallo Stadium is located in the Isomäki Sports Centre. The special features of the stadium are the close proximity of the stands to the field. The Pesäpallo All-Star game: East-West, was played at the Pori Pesäpallo Stadium in 2021. Additional stands were built for the event.
