Richmond Hill Tunnel is a railway tunnel to the east of Leeds city centre, in West Yorkshire, England. The tunnel is known to be the first in the world specifically designed to carry passengers to be worked by steam trains rather than a stationary engine. One of the innovative methods employed to reassure passengers going through the lightless tunnel, was to place copper sheets underneath the air shafts which were intended to reflect the light around the tunnel. The original Richmond Hill Tunnel was 700 yards (640 m) long, but in 1894, it was widened into a cutting with a shorter tunnel, which is the existing structure in use today. The present Richmond Hill Tunnel is 118 yards (108 m) long, and is part of the longer Marsh Lane Cutting, which connects the eastward entrance and exit into Leeds railway station to the lines going towards Selby and York. The railway line through Richmond Hill is part of the TransPennine Line which connects Manchester and Leeds, with Selby, York and Hull.

Marsh Lane railway station was built as the Leeds terminus of the Leeds and Selby Railway. The combined passenger and goods station opened in 1834. During the construction of the extension of the Leeds and Selby Line into central Leeds in the 1860s the station was demolished, and replaced with a large goods station and a separate through passenger station. In 2019, councillors at Leeds City Council suggested in the local media that serious discussions were underway about reopening the station as the city's second major railway station.

St Patrick's Church is the name of two Roman Catholic Parish Churches in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The original church was built from 1889 to 1891, designed by John Kelly and is a Grade II listed building. It is situated on Rider Street, next to the New York Road and East Street Arts. In April 2001, St Patrick's Church moved to Torre Road. The original one closed and the new church opened the next day. The new St Patrick's Church is located on Torre Road in the east end of the city.

Quarry Hill is an area of central Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is bounded by the Leeds Inner Ring Road in the east and north and the Leeds – York / Hull railway in the south. The area falls within the City and Hunslet ward of Leeds City Council.

Armouries Square is a large public square in central Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, adjacent to the Royal Armouries Museum, after which it is named.It was opened as part of a regeneration project which sought to update the area around Leeds Dock with the square being a hard-standing display area for displays by the Royal Armouries Museum.

The Royal Armouries is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.The Royal Armouries Museum is a £42.5 million purpose-built museum located in Leeds Dock that opened in 1996. Its collection was previously on display or in storage at the Tower of London where the Royal Armouries still maintains a presence and displays in the White Tower.As at all UK National Museums, entry is free, though certain extra attractions are charged for.

The Anglican Diocese of Leeds (previously also known as the Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales) is a diocese (administrative division) of the Church of England, in the Province of York. It is the largest diocese in England by area, comprising much of western Yorkshire: almost the whole of West Yorkshire, the western part of North Yorkshire, the town of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, and most of the parts of County Durham, Cumbria and Lancashire which lie within the historic boundaries of Yorkshire. It was created on 20 April 2014 following a review of the dioceses in Yorkshire and the dissolution of the dioceses of Bradford, Ripon and Leeds, and Wakefield. The diocese is led by the Anglican Bishop of Leeds and has three cathedrals of equal status: Ripon, Wakefield, and Bradford. There are five episcopal areas within the diocese, each led by an area bishop: Leeds, Ripon, Wakefield, Bradford and Huddersfield.

Leeds Conservatoire (formerly known as The Leeds Music Centre, the City of Leeds College of Music, and Leeds College of Music) is a higher education music conservatoire based in the Quarry Hill district of Leeds, England. It was founded in 1965 by Joseph Stones. Aside from its education provision, which also includes short courses and programmes for adults and school-age musicians, Leeds Conservatoire hosts a seasonal programme of concerts, largely in its 350-seat auditorium 'The Venue'. In 2011, Leeds Conservatoire was awarded All-Steinway School status, becoming the only conservatoire in England to have 90% of its pianos from the Steinway family.Leeds Conservatoire became a wholly owned subsidiary of Leeds City College in August 2011, and is now a member of the Luminate Education Group. In 2018, the conservatoire regained its status as a Higher Education Institution.
