The Orlando Florida Temple is the 48th constructed and 46th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Located near Windermere, Florida, it was built with a modern single-spire design. It is the second largest LDS temple in the Eastern United States, after the Washington D.C. Temple.

Windermere is a town in Orange County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 3,030. It is part of the Orlando Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Isleworth is a community outside Windermere, Florida, in Orange County. Located outside the Orlando city limits, the community is desirable for its proximity to the city's downtown, its location within the Butler chain of lakes, and as a local status symbol of wealth and grandeur. Isleworth traces its roots to the Chase family, a group of citrus grove owners from Philadelphia who purchased land in the area after the U.S. Civil War. Sidney and Joshua Chase referred to their property as the "Isle of Worth," because its citrus trees seemed naturally resistant to periodic cold snaps. In 1984, Chase descendants sold their lands to Arnold Palmer, who with developers designed an extra large golf course for wealthy members. In 1993, the Tavistock Group purchased the golf course and surrounding area and began developing the large, expensive and magnificent mansions that are a hallmark of the community. Isleworth is home to a championship 18-hole golf course originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, later re-designed and modified by Steve Smyers. The course consistently ranks as the longest and toughest course in the state by the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA). It complements another Tavistock development on the other side of Orlando, Lake Nona. Late in 2007, the community became a bone of contention between Orange County officials and nearby Windermere when the city announced plans to annex Isleworth. With property tax rolls totaling $800 million that year, it generated $3.5 million in tax revenues for the county that the city was anxious to redirect to its own coffers. Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty quickly threatened to end county fire and sheriff services to Isleworth if annexation plans went forward.Beginning in December 2014, Isleworth will become the new location of the Hero World Challenge.

The Cal Palmer Memorial Building (also known as Finders Keepers) is a historic site in Windermere, Florida. It is located at 502 Main Street. On November 29, 1995, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The 1890 Windermere School (also known as the Armstrong-Parramore House) is a historic school in Windermere, Florida, United States. The schoolhouse is located at 113 West Seventh Avenue. The building served the community as a school between 1890 and 1916, then as a community center through 1923. After its days as a community center, it became a private residence. In 1995 the Armstrong-Parramore family, who owned the land and building, donated it to the city. Rooms and structures added to the building by the Armstrong-Parramores were dismantled, restoring the building to its original form. On June 5, 2003, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 2011, the Windermere city government wished to move the historic building to another location. However, a movement arose to keep it in its current location. The issue was put to Windermere voters in the form of a town charter amendment. The amendment, which protected the schoolhouse from further move attempts, passed overwhelmingly with 71.25% of voters in favor.

The 9/11 Memorial at Windermere, Florida is a memorial dedicated to the victims of the September 11 attacks in New York City, the Pentagon and Flight 93 in 2001. The memorial features a piece of steel from the World Trade Center that fell to the ground among the rubble and debris. Surrounding it are ceramic tiles that honor those who died in the attacks; each person that lost their life had a tile representing their country. A cement path has also been created around the steel from the World Trade Center. The idea for a memorial to the September 11 attacks in Windermere was conceived of by Boy Scout Jeff Cox as part of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project. Cox orchestrated the project with the help of his family, the mayor of Windermere, Gary Bruhn and Cox's Boy Scout Troop, Troop 6. The dedication to this memorial was held on Saturday, February 20, 2010. A primary plaque described the September 11 attacks and the memorial. An ancillary plaque was placed in the honor of the mayor, Troop 6, and Cox for erecting the memorial.

The Windermere Town Hall (also known as the Old Windermere Women's Club) is a historic site in Windermere, Florida, United States. It is located at 520 Main Street, and built in 1922. On June 3, 1994, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Gotha is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County, Florida, United States. Gotha is located between Ocoee and Windermere and had a population of 1,915 at the 2010 census, up from 731 as recorded by the 2000 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is the resting place of the famous painter Bob Ross.

MetroWest is a master-planned community in Orlando, a city located in the central portion of the U.S. state of Florida. The 1,805-acre (730 ha) mixed-use community is located southwest of downtown Orlando, with the main entrance situated on MetroWest Boulevard, off of Kirkman Road. The Palm Cottage Gardens, also known as the Henry Nehrling Estate, is a historic site in Gotha, Florida. On November 7, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played each March at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge, a private golf resort owned since 1974 by Arnold Palmer in Bay Hill, a suburb southwest of Orlando, Florida. The event was founded in 1979 as a successor to the Florida Citrus Open Invitational, which debuted in 1966 and was played at Rio Pinar Country Club, east of Orlando, through 1978. Arnold Palmer won the Florida Citrus Open in 1971. Since 1979, the tournament title has had several different names, most of them including "Bay Hill," but has played under the Palmer name since 2007. On March 21, 2012, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and MasterCard Worldwide announced an extension to MasterCard's "Presented by" sponsorship until the 2016 tournament.In June 2014, the PGA Tour approved a resolution to grant the winner a three-year exemption, one more than regular Tour events and on par with winners of the World Golf Championships, The Tour Championship, and the Memorial Tournament.The winner receives a red cardigan sweater in memory of Arnold Palmer, a tradition that began with the 2017 tournament after Palmer's death in 2016.In 2019, the event was added to the Open Qualifying Series, giving up to three non-exempt players entry into The Open Championship.

The Bay Hill Club & Lodge is a private golf club and hotel in the southeastern United States, located in Bay Hill, Florida, a suburb southwest of Orlando.The first 18 holes at Bay Hill (Champion and Challenger nines) were designed by Dick Wilson in 1961, and were built by Bob Simmons. Considered one of Wilson's best works, the course illustrates his typical approach of slightly elevating the putting surfaces to improve visibility and drainage. Simmons designed and built the additional 9 holes (Charger nine) after Wilson's death.The course covers 270 acres (1.1 km2), and lies between the community of Bay Hill and the Butler Chain of Lakes. There are 27 holes of golf available: the Challenger, Champion and Charger nines. It was owned by Arnold Palmer from 1974 until his death in 2016, and now by his daughter and son-in-law Amy & Roy Saunders. Bay Hill Club & Lodge also offers a 69-room Lodge, 6 guest cottages, the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy and various amenities such as tennis, instructional golf lessons, Spa & Fitness Center, and marina. You must be a member or registered Lodge guest to have access to the golf course and all Club amenities. The Golf Shop is open to the public.
