The Mount Calvary Baptist Church is a historic church at 11229 Kendall Road in Orange, Virginia. Built in 1892, it is a well-preserved example of a rural church built for African-Americans during the Jim Crow era. It is a frame structure with a metal roof and a projecting square tower topped by a pyramidal roof. The main entrance is at the center of the tower, set in a pointed-arch opening, matching those of windows on the facade on either side. Also on the property is a graveyard, established about 1919, with about 100 marked graves.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Mount Sharon is an historic estate house and plantation remnant in rural Orange County, Virginia. Located off Route 600 about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of the city of Orange, the Mount Sharon estate house is a two-story Georgian Revival house built of concrete and faced in brick. It was designed in 1937 by Louis Bancel LaFarge for Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Augustus, on a plantation they purchased in 1935 from the Taliaferro family, which had owned it since the early 18th century. The Augustuses demolished the deteriorating Victorian-era plantation house on the site to build the house, which has restrained exterior styling, and high quality interior woodwork designed by LaFarge.The property, consisting of the estate house, several outbuildings from the 1930s, and 77.5 acres (31.4 ha) of surrounding land (reduced from the more than 1,000 that made up the original plantation), was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The original section dates to the early- to mid-18th century, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, frame Colonial dwelling with a steep gable roof and "U"-plan stairway of a form unknown elsewhere in Virginia. It retains nearly all its original late-Georgian interior detailing. It was doubled in size about 1797, with a two-story Federal-period addition that stands at right angles to the original block and is flanked by early shed-roofed end wings. The house was restored in the 1960s. Also on the property are a contributing 19th-century smokehouse, a contributing 18th-century cemetery, and a contributing garden site.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Hare Forest Farm is a historic home and farm complex located near Orange, Orange County, Virginia, United States. The main house was built in three sections starting about 1815. It consists of a two-story, four-bay, brick center block in the Federal style, a two-story brick dining room wing which dates from the early 20th century, and a mid-20th-century brick kitchen wing. Also on the property are the contributing stone garage, a 19th-century frame smokehouse with attached barn, an early-20th-century frame barn, a vacant early-20th-century tenant house, a stone tower, an early-20th-century frame tenant house, an abandoned storage house, as well as the stone foundations of three dwellings of undetermined date. The land was once owned by William Strother, maternal grandfather of Zachary Taylor, and it has often been claimed that the future president was born on the property.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The original section was built about 1730, and expanded in at least four major building campaigns over the next half-century. It had its present configuration by 1840. The house is a 1+1⁄2-story, four-bay, log and frame structure featuring a central chimney, two-room plan main block flanked by early gable-end lean-tos and rear additions. It has a steep gable roof with modern dormers. It was renovated in the 1970s. Also on the property is a contributing mid-19th century smokehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Waddell Memorial Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located near Rapidan, Orange County, Virginia. It was built in 1874, and is a Carpenter Gothic frame building covered with board-and-batten siding. It features a three-stage tower at the gable end with a ground level with an equilateral-arched doorway, a middle level with a rose window, and a belfry with double pointed windows.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It is located in the Rapidan Historic District.

Notable buildings include the Emmanuel Episcopal Church (1874), "Annandale" (c. 1825), the Rapidan Trading Post (1903), Rapidan Post Office (1914), Lower Rapidan Baptist Church (1914), Rapidan Passenger Depot (c. 1890), and the Peyton-Grhby House (c. 1890).
