Mystic Lake (California)

The Rabbit Fire was a wildfire in Moreno Valley, California, ignited at around 3:30 PM PT on July 14, 2023. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. As of July 22, 2023, the fire had burned 8,283 acres (3,352 ha) and was fully contained.

Rancho Verde High School is one of three comprehensive high schools in the Val Verde Unified School District. The school is situated on 38 acres in the southern section of Moreno Valley, California. Rancho Verde represents a community of diverse social and economic backgrounds containing both suburban and rural populations. As of 2018, the school serves 2,074 students with 24.94 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers and 83.17 FTE staff.

The Mt. Eden Formation is a geologic formation in Riverside County, California. It underlies the San Timoteo Formation, and preserves fossils dating back to the Neogene period.

Lakeview is a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 2,104 at the 2010 census, up from 1,619 at the 2000 census. The community is named for nearby Mystic Lake.

Rancho San Jacinto Nuevo y Potrero was a 48,861-acre (197.73 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Riverside County, California given in 1846 by Governor Pío Pico to Miguel Pedrorena. At the time of the US Patent, Rancho San Jacinto Nuevo y Potrero was a part of San Diego County. The County of Riverside was created by the California Legislature in 1893 by taking land from both San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. The grant encompassed present-day Lake Perris.

The Badlands are a mountain range in Riverside County, California. They are also known as the San Timoteo Badlands. The range trend northwest–southeast with the San Jacinto Valley to the southwest, the San Timoteo Canyon to the northeast and the San Jacinto Mountains to the east. These mountains separate the cities of Beaumont and Moreno Valley. The mountains are crossed by California State Route 60, California State Route 79, and a handful of smaller roads.

The Manzanita Fire was a wildfire that burned south of the towns of Beaumont and Banning near Highway 79 in Riverside County, California during June 2017. The fire had consumed some 6,309 acres (2,553 ha) and was burning eastward towards the community of Poppet Flats and Highway 243. Fanned by Red Flag conditions, the Manzanita fire ignited from a traffic collision that grew to over 1,200 acres (490 ha) within several hours of burning. The communities of Poppet Flats, Silent Valley and Highland Springs were threatened for a time but no structural damage occurred during this incident. The fire was fully contained on Friday, June 30.

Potrero Creek is a minor waterway of Riverside County, California in the United States. Potrero Creek has a 5-mile (8.0 km)-long course and flows south through the San Jacinto River basin. Potrero Creek drains about 35 square miles (91 km2) of the San Jacinto Mountains. Potrero joins the San Jacinto River near California State Route 79, at Gilman Hot Springs, California. There are reportedly a small group of cave shelters along Potrero Creek in Massacre Canyon, south of Beaumont, on what was called the Stanton Ranch in 1962. Massacre Canyon supposedly gets its name from a battle that took place around 1540, when Temecula people massacred defenders of a village (with associated chia plantings) of the tribe now known as the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians, which was called Ivah and was located at what is now Gilman Hot Springs, California.

Lake Perris is an artificial lake completed in 1973. It is the southern terminus of the California State Water Project, situated in a mountain-rimmed valley between Moreno Valley and Perris, in what is now the Lake Perris State Recreation Area. The park offers a variety of recreational activities. Because of this and the lake's proximity to major population centers, it is very crowded during the summer months. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has issued a safe eating advisory for any fish caught in the Lake Perris due to elevated levels of mercury and PCBs.

The Lakeview Mountains are a range of low mountains encompassing approximately 30 square miles (80 km2) of land in western Riverside County, Southern California, at the northern end of the Peninsular Ranges System.

Nuevo (Spanish for "New") is a rural community located east of Lake Perris and the city of Perris in Riverside County, California. The population of the census-designated place (CDP) is 7,033 according to the 2020 census, up from 6,447 at the 2010 census.
