Lake Perris is an artificial lake completed in 1973. It is the southern terminus of the California State Water Project, situated in a mountain-rimmed valley between Moreno Valley and Perris, in what is now the Lake Perris State Recreation Area. The park offers a variety of recreational activities. Because of this and the lake's proximity to major population centers, it is very crowded during the summer months. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has issued a safe eating advisory for any fish caught in the Lake Perris due to elevated levels of mercury and PCBs.

Perris Auto Speedway, also known as the PAS, is a 1/2 mile clay oval track located at 18700 Lake Perris Drive on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds in Perris, California. The track features a raised backstretch offering fans a better view over the infield of the oval. The track hosts USAC/CRA sprint cars, street stocks, dirt modifieds, and many others. It hosted the Turkey Night Grand Prix midget car race in 1996, 2012 and 2013. The track has also hosted the World of Outlaws and the Traxxas TORC Series.The track opened on March 30, 1996. Prior to that, the site of the track was home to Lake Perris speedway, a 1/8 mile dirt oval constructed in 1987 and hosted motorcycle racing then later car racing until 1993. A 1/3 mile dirt oval operated until the end of 1995.

Rancho Verde High School is one of three comprehensive high schools in the Val Verde Unified School District. The school is situated on 38 acres in the southern section of Moreno Valley, California. Rancho Verde represents a community of diverse social and economic backgrounds containing both suburban and rural populations. The Riverside University Health System - Medical Center, or RUHS-MC, formerly Riverside County Regional Medical Center, or RCRMC, and also formerly Riverside General Hospital University Medical Center, or RGH UMC, is a public teaching hospital located at 26520 Cactus Avenue, Moreno Valley, California, United States, operated by the County of Riverside. It is classified as a Level I Trauma Center. Founded in 1893, and originally located in downtown Riverside, California, the hospital has since relocated. The current facility opened on March 31, 1998, but for the greatest part of its history the hospital was located at 9851 Magnolia Avenue in Riverside. While at that location, and operating under the name Riverside General Hospital University Medical Center, two nationally followed patient stories developed. The case of the first patient, Elizabeth Bouvia, in 1983, eventually resulted in a landmark court decision that allows mentally competent adults to refuse forced feeding by patient care facilities, allowing for the possibility of starvation, if the patient cannot otherwise ingest adequate nutrition. The second patient, Gloria Ramirez, in 1994 died in unusual circumstances in which a number of her care-givers were seriously sickened and fainted by what were claimed to be fumes emanating from Ramirez's body.

Mystic Lake is a seasonal lake in the San Jacinto Valley of western Riverside County, California. The lake's size can vary widely each year. The lake persists from one year to the next, and at other times it completely dissipates during the dry season. The Mystic Lake area attracts one of the most diverse populations of birds in the United States, with over 200 species identified.The lake is located east of the Lake Perris reservoir and the town of Lakeview, between the cities of Moreno Valley, to the north, and San Jacinto, to the south. The town of Lakeview received its name for its proximity to Mystic Lake.

Val Verde High School is a continuation high school in Perris, California, United States. Students come from the neighboring Rancho Verde High School, Citrus Hill High School, and Orange Vista High School. It is part of the Val Verde Unified School District. As of 2023, Val Verde High enrolled 329 students.The school lets students gain credits every quarter, which is an accelerated pace. The school allows students to earn college credits through dual enrollment courses. The school also offers several Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, including welding, video production, logistics, pharmacy tech, woodworking, and graphic production technologies.
