KBXR (102.3 FM), often referred to simply as BXR, is a local radio station located on Old Highway 63 in Columbia, Missouri. It airs an adult album alternative format with a mixture of alternative rock, classic rock, and more.

Greenwood, also known as Greenwood Heights, is a historic home located at Columbia, Missouri. It was built about 1839, and is a two-story, "T"-plan, Federal style red brick farmhouse on a stone foundation. It is one of the oldest remaining structures in Boone County, Missouri.: 4  Today the house is under private ownership.The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Browns is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is located northeast of Columbia on Paris Road (Route B). Browns was once a stop on the Columbia Terminal Railroad.

The Guitar House, previously known as Confederate Hill, is a historic home located in Columbia, Missouri. It was built between 1859 and 1862 and is a two-story, Italianate style dwelling. It has a low-pitched hipped roof, tall slender windows with segmented arches, decorative eave brackets, and a single-story front porch with square supports. The house was constructed by David Guitar, an officer in the Union forces (the 61st Regiment of the Enrolled Missouri Militia) during the American Civil War. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Prathersville is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. Prathersville was named after William Prather, a local merchant. It is located in north Columbia.

The University of Missouri Women's Hospital, formerly University of Missouri Women's Hospital, is the only hospital in Missouri exclusively dedicated to the health of women. The hospital was formerly home to MU Children's Hospital, and is currently home to MU Women's Center, and the Family Birth Center. The Women's Hospital no longer has a pediatric Emergency Room and inpatient services, having moved to University Hospital. In Fiscal Year 2009, 1,793 babies were born in the Family Birth Center. The hospital has the da Vinci minimally invasive surgical robotic system. It is located in eastern Columbia near the interchange of Interstate 70 and U.S. 63 at 404 North Keene Street.

KFRU (1400 AM) is a radio station located in Columbia, Missouri. Its programming format consists primarily of news, talk and sports. The station is licensed to Cumulus Media. The station is also audible on translator K255DJ 98.9 FM in Columbia.

Rock Fork Lakes Conservation Area is a nature preserve and former strip mine in Boone County, Missouri. Located north of Columbia, Missouri adjacent to Finger Lakes State Park it is over 2000 acres of lakes, wetlands, forest, and prairie. Much of the land is severely degraded from strip mining by the Peabody Coal Company from 1963 to 1972. The land was acquired by the Missouri Department of Conservation in 1979. An unstaffed shooting range is open to the public and was renovated in 2014. The 50-acre Rocky Fork Lake has a boat ramp and is used for fishing. It is named after Rocky Fork Creek.

Columbia Township is one of ten townships in Boone County, Missouri, USA. As of 2012, its population was 41,475. The township contains the eastern half of the City of Columbia including most of the original (downtown) area.

Muriel Williams Battle High School (commonly known as Battle) is a public high school in Columbia, Missouri, United States. It opened for summer school on June 3, 2013, and began its first school year in August 2013. The school serves students in grades 9–12, although seniors did not attend the first year of operation. It is one of four public high schools in the Columbia Public Schools district. Former NFL defensive lineman Atiyyah Ellison worked here as a football coach.
