Schwetzingen station is a through station in Schwetzingen, a town in the German state of Baden-Württemberg and lies not far from its centre. It is located at kilometre 13.6 of the Rhine Railway, which runs from Mannheim via Hockenheim and Graben-Neudorf to Karlsruhe. North of the station, the line to Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld branches to connect with the Main-Neckar Railway; the branch is almost exclusively used by freight. Until 1967, the Heidelberg–Speyer railway gave Schwetzingen direct connections to Heidelberg and Speyer. The only operating section of this line today is the section from Schwetzingen to the industrial area of Hockenheim-Talhaus, which is used for freight traffic. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn (DB) as a category 4 station. It has three platform tracks and is served exclusively by DB services. Its address is Bahnhofsanlage 1–3.

Oftersheim is a municipality in the district of Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 8 km southwest of Heidelberg.

Schwetzingen Palace is a schloss in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Schwetzingen was the summer residence of the Electors Palatine Charles III Philip and Charles IV Theodore (of the House of Wittelsbach). It is situated in Schwetzingen, roughly equidistant from the electors' seats at Heidelberg and Mannheim, and is most notable for its spacious and ornate gardens. Other than these exceptionally well preserved gardens and the palace proper, the compound also features the Schlosstheater Schwetzingen, the principal venue for the annual Schwetzingen Festival.

Schlosstheater Schwetzingen (Schwetzingen palace theater) is a court theater in Schwetzingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The historic building, opened in 1753, is part of Schloss Schwetzingen and since 1952 the principal venue of the Schwetzingen Festival. It is also called Hoftheater (court theater), Hofoper (court opera), and Comoedienhaus (comedy house). The frequently applied name Rokokotheater (Rococo theater) is misleading, because it shows also neoclassical elements, added in 1762.

Schwetzingen (German: [ˈʃvɛtsɪŋən] ; Palatine German: Schwetzinge) is a German town in northwest Baden-Württemberg, around 10 km (6.2 mi) southwest of Heidelberg and 15 km (9.3 mi) southeast of Mannheim. Although not functional, it was used by Muslim prisoners in the Franco-Prussian War.

Patrick Henry Village (PHV), was a United States Army family housing area located in the vicinity of Heidelberg, Germany, adjacent to and just south of the small town of Eppelheim. It opened in 1947 after World War II and was named after Patrick Henry, first and sixth Governor of Virginia. PHV was at its height populated with up to 16,000 Americans. The housing area closed on 6 September 2013.For the vast majority of its existence, PHV was not fenced, gated, or in any other way not completely open to entry and transit by the general public. After the September 11, 2001, attacks in the United States, fences were built around the living quarters so that no one could enter without an authorized U.S. government ID card. Also, the yearly German-American 'Volksfest' was moved to nearby Patton Barracks, for security reasons. In 2002, the US Army planned a large extension of the housing area. However, soon afterwards the Army announced the closure of all Heidelberg and Mannheim facilities. Patrick-Henry-Village was officially closed on September 6, 2013, after all military personnel were moved to the new headquarters of the United States European Command at Wiesbaden. On 2 June 2014, the site was transferred to the Institute for Federal Real Estate.

Rhein-Neckar-Halle is an 8,000-capacity indoor arena located in Eppelheim, Germany. During the 1970s and 1980s some of the biggest acts in the music industry performed at the venue, including Frank Zappa, Tina Turner, ZZ Top, Metallica, Genesis, Rush and AC/DC. It was built in 1970. Today it is primarily used for sports for the adjacent high school.Since 2012 the arena is closed for events with more than 199 people and since then has only been used for school sports. It has been superseded as the main indoor arena in the region by other venues such as the Maimarkt-Halle and the SAP-Arena in nearby Mannheim. It will also get a new competitor in a new, under-construction arena in Heidelberg which is due to be completed in spring 2020.

Eppelheim (German pronunciation: [ˈɛpl̩haɪ̯m] (listen)) is a city in northern Baden-Württemberg bordering Heidelberg. It belongs to the district Rhein-Neckar-Kreis.

Neu-Edingen/Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld station (formerly Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld) is a separation station in the Mannheim district of Friedrichsfeld on the border with the municipality of Edingen-Neckarhausen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. All rail tracks are in Mannheim, only the station building is located on the territory of the Edingen-Neckarhausen hamlet of Neu-Enghien. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. It has been served by the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn since December 2018.

The SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg is a state-recognized private university in Heidelberg. The university opened on October 1, 1969 as a "facility for the professional rehabilitation of people with disabilities in the tertiary education sector". In 1991, it was opened to private customers. Since then, the proportion of students with disabilities has dropped to around 5%. In 2004 it was accredited by the Science Council. SRH University uses "Competence Oriented Research and Education" (The CORE principle) study model.

Brühl (pronounced [bʁyːl] ) is a municipality in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The former fishing village along the Rhine has become a satellite of a growing Mannheim. Many of the residents of Brühl work in Mannheim. Brühl is known as the hometown of former tennis player Steffi Graf.

Ketsch (German: [kɛtʃ] ) is a municipality in the district of Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located on Bertha Benz Memorial Route. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, 14 km south of Heidelberg.
