Soltau

Soltau (Han) station is in the town of Soltau in the German state of Lower Saxony, located in the centre of the Lüneburg Heath. As a junction station on two railway lines, Hannover Hbf – Buchholz (Heath Railway) and Bremen Hbf – Uelzen (Uelzen–Langwedel railway), it is a central transport hub of the region and serves commuters and visitors to the Lüneburg Heath as a destination and transfer station. The station was opened in 1873 and by the mid-20th century it was served by local and long-distance services running in seven different directions. The America Line (Amerikalinie), which ran from Berlin to Bremerhaven via Soltau, had considerable significance for passenger and goods traffic from the ports of the North Sea at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. At that time, Schnellzug (semi-fast) services also ran. In addition, there were connections to several light railways to Lüneburg, Celle and Neuenkirchen. After the Second World War, the America Line increasingly lost its national significance. Passenger traffic on the light railways has been discontinued.

The Soltau Toy Museum (German: Spielzeugmuseum Soltau), formerly the North German Toy Museum (German: Norddeutsche Spielzeugmuseum) in Soltau originated from a private collection. It was founded in 1984 by Hannelore Ernst. The museum is located in a listed building which consists of a shop and house in the centre of Soltau. Exhibits from four centuries recall something of the history of toys and culture. In addition to dolls made of the widest variety of materials there are doll's houses, rooms, kitchens and shops as well as model railways, and lead and wooden toys, Laterna Magica devices and a host of teddy bears and stuffed toys. There are also opportunities to play with some of the toys. The museum has a total area of 600 square metres and receives 40,000 visitors a year. The pièce de resistance of the exhibition is Dingley Hall, a three-metre-wide (9.8 ft) and two-metre-high (6.6 ft) doll's house that was bought in 2003 for €190,000 at Christie's in London. This exhibit is, however, only part of a valuable collection that represents decades of work. In order to ensure the continued existence of this important collection, a charitable foundation, the "Stiftung Spiel: Historisches Spielzeug - innovative Spielräume" was formed and has run the museum since 1 August 2005. The Ernst family has transferred its toy collection to the foundation.

Soltau is a small river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Böhme in the town Soltau.

Brock is a village in the borough of Soltau in the Heidekreis district in the German state of Lower Saxony. The village has 158 inhabitants (as at: 2003). The hamlets of Bassel, Hebenbrock, Penzhorn and Imbrock are part of the parish. Brock lies on the Lüneburg Heath south of Soltau on the river Böhme. The B 3 federal road and the A 7 motorway run through the parish of Brock. The motorway junction of Soltau-Süd also lies within the parish. The council chair is Wulf Heinrich Lühr. The first two episodes of the TV series Die Kinder vom Alstertal were shot at a farm in Brock.

Wiedingen is a village in the borough of Soltau in the district of Soltau-Fallingbostel in the German state of Lower Saxony. The village has 142 inhabitants (as at: 2003). The hamlets of Ellingen and Wieheholz belong to the municipality of Wiedingen.

Heide Park Resort, commonly known as Heide Park, is a theme park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. With an overall area of over 850,000 m2 (210 acres), it is the largest amusement park in Northern Germany and among the largest in the country. It is part of the British-based Merlin Entertainments which operates 123 attractions in 24 countries.

Krake (German for "octopus") is a steel Dive Coaster roller coaster at Heide Park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. It is the first roller coaster of its kind in Germany. At a cost of 12 million euros, the roller coaster features floorless trains, 476 m (1,562 ft) of track, and a maximum height of 41 m (135 ft). The attraction officially opened to the public on April 16, 2011.

Scream is a gyro drop tower at the Heide Park amusement park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. It was constructed at a cost of €7.5 million by Intamin between October 2002 and April 2003, repurposing the structure of the Aussichtsturm II observation tower which opened in 1992. With a height of 103 metres (338 ft), riders plunge down 71 metres (233 ft) up to speeds of 98.3 kilometres per hour (61.1 mph). Scream, which has a diameter of 2.8 metres (9 ft 2 in), stands on a foundation of 8 metres (26 ft) in depth and 10 metres (33 ft) in diameter. The travelling time is 82 seconds, two seconds of which are the actual fall. The deceleration phase lasts for 5.5 seconds.

Flug der Dämonen (German for "Flight of the Demons") is a Bolliger & Mabillard Wing Coaster at the Heide Park Resort amusement park located in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. The attraction officially opened to the public on March 29, 2014.

Colossos - Kampf der Giganten, German for Colossos: Battle of the Giants, is a wooden roller coaster located at Heide Park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. Manufactured by Intamin, the roller coaster opened as simply Colossos in 2001. Unlike traditional wooden coasters, its track was prefabricated, laser-cut in a factory to a high degree of precision, with sections designed to snap together like Lego pieces. Some of its planks were tightly bonded in multiple layers instead of traditionally nailed together by hand. The roller coaster closed in 2016 due to deteriorating track conditions and reopened in 2019 after refurbishment.

Toxic Garden (formerly known as Limit) is a steel roller coaster located at Heide Park, Germany. It opened in 1999 and is a standard 689m layout Suspended Looping Coaster manufactured by Vekoma. In March 2023, Heide Park announced that Limit would be renamed to Toxic Garden, with new thematic elements and a partial replacement of the ride's track.
