Santelhöchi Pass

Egerkingen is a municipality in the district of Gäu in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.

The Ruchen is a mountain of the Jura, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn. It lies between Langenbruck and Eptingen. The Ruchen is the easternmost summit above 1,100 metres in the Jura Mountains. East of the Ruchen is the Belchenflue.

Belchenflue Pass (el. 1055 m.) is a mountain pass to use only by hikers in the Jura Mountains between the cantons of Basel-Country and Solothurn. Nearestby access by car is on the Chilchzimmersattel. Actually the pass does not have a distinct name. It is the signpost just nearby the dead-end hiking trail that has Belchenflue written on. The mountain is also called Bölchen by locals. The name came originally from Celtic from the sun god Belenus. The namegiving nearby peak (el. 1099 m.) was an important marker for the tribal calendar establishing the seasons. Along with the peak of the same name in Alsace (Alsatian Belchen) and Black Forest (Black Forest Belchen), it allowed the establishment of the winter and summer solstice.[1] As is the case with much of the Jura range, the cliffs are formed of hard oolithic limestone, which has been exposed as the softer stone above it has eroded. The pass forms the divide between the watershed of the Aare in the south and the Ergolz in the north. Both flow into the Rhine. To the east are the Challhöchi and Unterer Hauenstein passes.

The Belchenflue is a mountain of the Jura, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn, south of Eptingen. The nearby Belchenflue Pass links the two cantons. The mountain is also known as the Swiss Belchen (Schweizer Belchen) and is part of the so-called Belchen System, a group of mountains with the name "Belchen" that may have been part of a Celtic sun calendar.

Egerkingen railway station (German: Bahnhof Egerkingen) is a railway station in the municipality of Egerkingen, in the Swiss canton of Solothurn. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Jura Foot line of Swiss Federal Railways.

Härkingen is a municipality in the district of Gäu in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.

Chilchzimmersattel (el. 991 m.) is a mountain pass in the Jura Mountains in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland. It connects Eptingen and Langenbruck. The pass road has a maximum grade of 7,35 percent. The pass is open all year round, even though it is not cleared after snowstorms. Numerous fortifications can be seen near the pass, dating from World War I and before.

Alt-Bechburg Castle is a castle in the municipality of Holderbank of the Canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.

The Belchen Tunnel is a motorway tunnel in Switzerland, and forms part of the A2 motorway from Basel to Chiasso. It links Eptingen in the canton of Basel-Country with Hägendorf in the Canton of Solothurn. The tunnel was opened in 1966, and is 3,180 metres (10,430 ft) long.

Gunzgen is a municipality in the district of Olten in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.

Sculpture at Schoenthal is an art foundation in Switzerland. It is named after the Schönthal Monastery, a former church near the village of Langenbruck, Basel-Landschaft, which is now used for temporary art exhibitions. An array of sculptures, including some by well-known artists, is dotted around the monastery area and the surrounding countryside.
