Bunnet Stane

West Lomond is the highest point in the county of Fife, Scotland and the highest peak in the Lomond Hills. Its cone-shaped summit, which is the remains of a volcanic plug, rises above an escarpment of Carboniferous sandstone and limestone layers, capped with a quartz-microgabbro sill. The conspicuous peaks of West Lomond, and its neighbour East Lomond, are visible for many miles around, which explains one suggested origin of their name, the 'Lomond' or 'beacon' hills. On the summit are the remains of an Iron Age hill fort. West Lomond is usually climbed from Craigmead car park on the Falkland-Leslie road which is at a height of almost 300 metres. Another route of ascent leaves from the Bunnet Stane and climbs diagonally up the steep north slopes of the escarpment to a gap in the cliffs, gaining the plateau a short distance from the summit cone. This route is steeper and begins at a much lower altitude than the Craigmead car park.

Gateside railway station served the village of Gateside, Fife, Scotland from 1858 to 1950 on the Fife and Kinross Railway.

It also comprises a school (which is currently closed due to lack of primary aged pupils to attend), a park, seven-a-side football pitch, there used to be a village shop, and a pub (The Gateside Inn) which has now been converted into a private residence, the Gateside Memorial Hall and a garage (the Minimart). Gateside won a Tesco Magazine competition in 2012 and was named the "Friendliest Street in the UK." The River Eden runs through the village, which flows to Guardbridge and then into the North Sea. The nearest city is Perth.

It lies to the east of Loch Leven, on the A911 road, below Bishop Hill in the Lomond Hills. It is approximately 4 miles (6 kilometres) west of Glenrothes and 4 miles (6 kilometres) east of Kinross.

Strathmiglo railway station served the village of Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland from 1857 to 1950 on the Fife and Kinross Railway.

Strathmiglo (Scottish Gaelic: Srath Mioglach) (Ordnance Survey grid reference NO214101) is a village and parish in Fife, Scotland on the River Eden. It lies on the old A91 road from Milnathort to Cupar and St. Andrews but was bypassed by a new road to the north in the 1970s. Nearby settlements include Auchtermuchty and Falkland.

Strathmiglo Town House is a municipal structure in the High Street, Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland. The structure, which is now disused, is a Category A listed building.

Scotlandwell is a village in Portmoak, Kinross-shire, Scotland. It is within the Perth and Kinross council area. It lies to the east of Loch Leven, at the junction of the A977 and B920 roads, approximately 4 miles (6 kilometres) west of Glenrothes and 4 miles (6 kilometres) east of Kinross. Scotlandwell is one of the historic sites of Kinross-shire. Named Fons Scotiae by the Romans who founded it nearly 2,000 years ago, the curative waters that bubble up through the sandy ground were used by Red Friars who maintained a hospital in the village between 1250 and 1587. Thousands of pilgrims came to Scotlandwell to take the water, the most famous perhaps being King Robert the Bruce who is alleged to have found a cure for leprosy here. The two main historical features of Scotlandwell village are the Well and Wash House.

Carsehall is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is northeast of Loch Leven and west of Bishop Hill in the Lomond Hills. It is on the A911 road at its junction with the B919 road. It is approximately 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Glenrothes and 3 miles (5 kilometres) east of Kinross. It is the location of the Balgedie Toll Tavern.

Balvaird Castle in Perthshire is a traditional late medieval Scottish tower house. It is located in the Ochil Hills, around 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of Abernethy. The name Balvaird is from Baile a' Bhàird, 'Township of the Bard' in Gaelic. Balvaird Castle is a scheduled monument, and is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland. The spelling of its name has many variations, including Balverd, Balverde, Balward, Balwaird and Baleward.
