Mullinavat

Castleinch or Inchyolaghan (Irish: Inse Uí Uallacháin) is a civil parish and townland in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Castleinch is a small townland of approximately 1.81 square kilometres (0.70 sq mi), and had a population of 49 people as of the 2011 census.

Kilmacow (Irish: Cill Mochua, meaning 'Mochua's church' — otherwise known in Irish as Cill Mhic Bhúith) is a small village and townland in County Kilkenny, Ireland.

The barony of Knocktopher (Irish: Cnoc an Tóchair, meaning ''Hill of the Causeway'') is a barony in the west of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The barony is 46,765 acres (189.25 km2) in size. There are 16 civil parishes made up of 125 townlands. It is one of 12 baronies in the county. The chief town is Mullinavat and it contains the settlements of Stonyford, Ballyhale, Hugginstown, Knocktopher, and Dunnamaggan. The M9 motorway bisects the barony. Knocktopher lies at the west of the county, the barony is bordered by Kells to the west (whose chief town is Kells), by the baronies of Shillelogher and Gowran to the north (whose chief towns are Bennettsbridge and Gowran), and the baronies of Iverk and Ida and to the south (whose chief towns are Slieverue and Piltown). The rivers Black Water, King's River, Little Arrigle, and Arrigle River flow through the barony. The Walsh Mountains make up a large part of the barony. Other historic sites include Norelands House, Saint Molings Well, and Goat's Bridge.Knocktopher was an early medieval cantred within the shire of Kilkenny, and part of the historic kingdom of Osraige (Ossory). Today it is part of the Roman Catholic Church diocese of Ossory and the Church of Ireland diocese of Cashel and Ossory. Knocktopher is currently administered by Kilkenny County Council.

Lough Cullen (Irish: Loch Cuilinn, meaning 'Holly Lake') is the only lake in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The lake has numerous legends attached to it.Near the town of Kilmacow, Loughcullen is name of the local area. Located in the civil parish Kilcolumb in the barony of Ida, just 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from Waterford City it is close to the County Waterford border. Loughcullen is notable in the region for being very supportive of the Kilkenny Cats hurling team. On match days and particularly when Kilkenny is participating in the All Ireland, Loughcullen is transformed into Amber and Black, the colours of the hurling team.

The River Suir Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the River Suir in Ireland. It was built as part of the N25 Waterford Bypass, and opened to traffic on 19 October 2009, some ten months ahead of schedule. The Viking settlement at Woodstown was discovered during the project and the route of the southern approach roads was altered to preserve the site. The 230 metre main span had the longest single bridge span in the Republic of Ireland, until the opening of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge, taking that record from the Boyne River Bridge on the Dublin to Belfast M1 motorway. By comparison, the main span of the Foyle Bridge in Northern Ireland is four metres longer.

Killinaspick (Irish: Coill an Easpaig, meaning 'bishop's wood') is a small village in the south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. Its name is also sometimes spelt Killinaspic, Killnaspic or Kilnaspic. Killinaspick is situated in the north of Mooncoin parish. It borders the parishes of Mullinavat, Piltown and Kilmacow. Killinaspick Catholic church is situated on the slope of the Walsh hills overlooking the parish. It was built in the mid-19th century. A tablet in the gable end of the current building, which stands south of the ancient site, states that it was built in 1866. Killinaspick church replaced the old church and graveyard in the adjoining hamlet called Tubrid. The church is one of three in the parish of Mooncoin, the other two being at Mooncoin itself and Carigeen. The main focus of the village is the crossroads, from which Tubrid Road leads to the village church and graveyard by a bridge over a stream. A missionary stone and Millennium plaque is located near the bridge. The village used to have a local shop, run by the Aylward family, but this closed in the early 1980s.

River Blackwater is a tributary of the River Suir in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is formed by the confluence of the Derrylacky River and the Poulanassy or Assy River just to the south of Mullinavat before it flows southwards through the village of Kilmacow before joining the Suir estuary below the townland of Dunkitt.A rubble stone bridge crosses the river near Kilmacow. Built about 1775 it is believed to incorporate some of a late medieval bridge of C1600. It comprises eight pointed segmental arches with squared voussoirs and rubble stone soffits. The unrefined rustic quality means it integrates well in the rural landscape.

Carrigeen GAA an Irish Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in Carrigeen in the very far south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. They are Mooncoin GAA's reserve team. The club was established in 1954 and its home grounds are at Asper Park, which were officially opened in 1991 by Paddy Buggy of Slieverue, former President of the GAA. Carrigeen play in black and amber stripes. As of 2008, the club was reportedly spending €500,000 developing its grounds, with the National Lottery putting up €200,000, Kilkenny County Council €100,000, and the club raising the remaining €200,000. Carrigeen may be one of Kilkenny's smallest clubs but the opening of these fine grounds shows the dedication and spirit that exists in the local community. Many great games of hurling have already been played on these grounds over the past few years and we look forward to many more exciting clashes in the years ahead.

Loughrea Hurling is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland. The club was founded in 1884 by Dillon Mannion and is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. Pat O Connor and Mike Kelly were in charge of the 2006 Galway Senior Hurling Championship were the team reached The All Ireland Club Final were they were defeated by Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks ending a great campaign.

Carrickshock is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club was founded in 1928 when the teams from Hugginstown and Knockmoylan were amalgamated in commemoration of the Battle of Carrickshock, 1831. Carrickshock have had success in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship, winning the competition seven times. Their record of four county titles in a row between 1940 and 1943 remained unbroken until 2009 when Ballyhale Shamrocks won their 4th title in succession. Several hurlers from the club have gone to play with the Kilkenny senior intercounty team.

Ballyhale (Irish: Baile Héil) is a village in the south east of Ireland. Located in the south of County Kilkenny, south of the city of Kilkenny and roughly halfway to Waterford city. The sport of hurling is popular in the area, and the local Gaelic Athletic Association team of Ballyhale Shamrocks are the most successful hurling club in All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship history. Local Kilkenny GAA hurler Henry Shefflin holds the record for the highest number of All Ireland Senior Hurling medals for a single player. The location is also close to the Mount Juliet golf course in nearby Thomastown. The food brand Glanbia, originally Avonmore, had its roots in a number of member-owned creameries, before becoming a global showcase coop brand for Irish agriculture. Ballyhale is also home to Kiltorcan's Old Quarry. Ballyhale also played a historic role when, in 1832, approximately 200,000 people from four counties gathered in support of those on trial for the 1831 Battle of Carrickshock. The parish of Ballyhale is made up of three areas; Knockmoylan and the villages of Ballyhale and Knocktopher. The population of the Ballyhale district is 335.

Ballyhale Shamrocks is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Ballyhale in County Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1972 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. Ballyhale Shamrocks are the most successful club in the history of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship with nine titles.
