Tocoi Creek High School (TCHS) is a new public high school in the World Golf Village census-designated place, in north central area of St. Johns County, Florida near St. Augustine. It is part of the St. Johns County School District and opened to students for the 2021-22 academic year. World Golf Village is zoned to Tocoi Creek.

The World Golf Hall of Fame was until recently located at World Golf Village near St. Augustine, Florida, in the United States, and it is unusual among sports halls of fame in that a single site honors both men and women. It is supported by a consortium of 26 golf organizations from all over the world. It is moving back to Pinehurst, North Carolina. The Hall of Fame Museum Building was designed by the specialist museum architecture firm E. Verner Johnson and Associates of Boston. They also produced the museum master plan that established the size, mission and qualities of the museum and the surrounding facilities and site. The Hall of Fame Museum features a permanent exhibition and a rolling program of temporary exhibitions. Designed by museum design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the Hall of Fame and exhibition area contains exhibits on the game's history, heritage, and techniques; major players and organizations; golf course design, equipment, and dress.

The World Golf Village (WGV) is a golf resort in St. Johns County, Florida, United States, located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. It was created by the PGA Tour and showcases the World Golf Hall of Fame. In addition to the resort the World Golf Village features residential and commercial developments. There is also a census-designated place with the same name.

Fort San Francisco de Pupo (Spanish: Fuerte San Francisco de Pupo) was an 18th-century Spanish fort on the west bank of the St. Johns River in Florida, about eighteen miles from St. Augustine (San Agustín), the capital of Spanish Florida (La Florida). Lying on the old trail to the Spanish province of Apalachee in western Florida, Fort Pupo and its sister outpost, Fort Picolata on the opposite shore of the river, controlled all traffic on the ferry crossing. The remains of Fort Pupo are situated about three miles south of Green Cove Springs in Clay County, near the end of Bayard Point opposite Picolata. The surrounding area is a hammock of southern live oak, southern magnolia, pignut hickory and other typical trees native to the region.The site of Fort Pupo was excavated in stratigraphic tests by cultural anthropologist John Goggin and students of the University of Florida in 1950 and 1951; his team's excavations indicated that the original structure of Fort Pupo was little more than a sentry box. A letter written by Royal Engineer Antonio de Arredondo on January 22, 1737 describes it as "a sentry box built of boards, eight feet in diameter… surrounded by a palisade." This diminutive fortification was replaced in 1738 by the construction of a new wooden blockhouse, barracks, and storehouses on the orders of the governor of La Florida, Manuel de Montiano. The work was done under the direction of Engineer Pedro Ruiz de Olano, who pulled a crew of carpenters, sawyers, and axemen from construction of the Castillo de San Marcos, the fortress of St. Augustine, to rebuild the Pupo blockhouse. Fort Picolata (Spanish: Fuerte Picolata) was an 18th-century Spanish fort on the east bank of the St. Johns River, about eighteen miles from St. Augustine (San Agustín), the capital of Spanish Florida (La Florida). Lying on the old trail to the Spanish province of Apalachee in western Florida, Fort Picolata and its sister outpost, Fort San Francisco de Pupo, controlled all traffic at the ferry crossing where the river narrows considerably, a natural pass called "Salamatoto" by the Indians. The first defense works at the site, built soon after 1700 as an outpost of the military defensive network of St. Augustine, were little more than a sentry box surrounded by a palisade.

The state forest includes 199 acres of Bottomland Forest, 129 acres of Wet Flatwoods, 124 acres of Mesic Flatwoods, 26 acres of floodplain, 23 acres of Baygall forest, 2 acres of Floodplain Marsh, 2 acres of ruderal and 1 acre of dome swamp.

Ponte Vedra is an unincorporated area in northern St. Johns County, Florida, United States, 18 miles (29 km) southeast of downtown Jacksonville, 26 miles (42 km) north of St. Augustine and west of the Intracoastal Waterway. Historically, there was no distinction between Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra Beach. However, after the Nocatee development became reality and Ponte Vedra High School opened, the United States Postal Service designated the area south and southwest of the 32082 area as Ponte Vedra and assigned it zip code 32081 in anticipation of future growth. Ponte Vedra is located west of the Intracoastal Waterway; south and east of the Duval county line. It presently includes parts of Palm Valley, much of Nocotee, Allen D. Nease Senior High School and Ponte Vedra High School The population of Ponte Vedra was 33,249 according to Census data:ACS 2023 and it is primarily a residential area.

Tocoi Creek is a tributary of the St. Johns River in St. Johns County, Florida. Kayakers report seeing abundant wildlife including turtles, alligators, and osprey and what is left of an old steamship dock as they paddle the creek. The creek is named after a Timucuan word that means water lily. The indigenous Timucua lived in the area prior to European contact in the 1500s through about 1800.Its southern bank was once the home to the settlement of Tocoi. The area was a transportation hub in the late 1800s, but it is now considered a ghost town. In 1872, author Harriet Beecher Stowe, who spent winters in nearby Jacksonville from 1867 to 1884, reportedly called the landing at Tocoi Creek "a shed and a sand-bank and a little shanty, where to those who require, refreshments are served."The St. Johns County school board voted to name its newest high school, Tocoi Creek High School, after the creek in December 2020. The school will open in 2021.

Tocoi is a former settlement along the St. Johns River in St. Johns County, Florida. Tocoi was the site of a ferry landing and a local rail line to St. Augustine, Florida. The name is said to come from a Native American word for water lily. The Tocoi Creek in the area is a tributary of the St. Johns. A commercial Spanish moss factory was in the area.Elizabeth Stuart Phelps Ward's 1879 book Sealed Orders features Tocoi and its train station as a setting.

The Disease Vector Education Center is located in St. Augustine, Florida. It is commonly called the Mosquito Museum by locals and is the first museum of its kind in the United States. It features an insect themed playground, a simulated helicopter, and resources to learn about malaria, dengue fever, West Nile virus, yellow fever, Zika virus, chikungunya, and lymphatic filariasis. The education center opened in 2024 and is operated by the Anastasia Mosquito Control District, which is a special district funded by the taxpayers of St. Johns County, Florida. It cost $4.5 million to build and is 6,000 square feet. The University of Florida and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services contributed resources to the center.

St. Johns County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 United States Census, its population was 273,425.
