Harlow College is a further education college in Harlow, Essex, England. This medium-sized college has 5,900 students as of 2018 of which 2,585 are on 16-19 programmes and 2,000 are on adult educational programmes. Its main campus is in the town, while recently an additional site has been built and opened at Stansted Airport, the first of its kind at a major UK airport. Harlow College's Principal and Chief Executive is Karen Spencer. The current college was established in 1984 as a tertiary college following reorganisation of post-16 education in the town. It replaced the former Harlow Technical College.The college is distinguished by its success rates and its Journalism Centre, which it has operated since 1964.

BMAT STEM Academy is a University Technical College within the Harlow College campus in Harlow, Essex, England, which opened in September 2014 as Sir Charles Kao UTC. It was named after the Nobel Prize winning scientist Charles K. Kao who worked and studied at Standard Telecommunication Laboratories in Harlow. The Academy is currently rated as "Good" in all areas by Ofsted following an inspection in January 2023.An Ofsted report in April 2017 gave the school a "Requires improvement" grade in all categories; at that time the school had 140 students although its capacity was 500.From April 2018, the school was re-launched as a member of BMAT, an academy trust which runs schools in Essex including Burnt Mill Academy and Epping St John's. It was renamed to the BMAT STEM Academy.

Burnt Mill Academy (formerly known de facto as Burnt Mill School) is a secondary school academy and specialist performing arts college situated on First Avenue in Harlow, Essex, England. The school originally opened in May 1962 as Burnt Mill Comprehensive School, de jure keeping this name until academisation in 2011. In 2003, it became a specialist performing arts college, specialising in dance, drama and music. It joined the Confucius institute programme in 2007, partnering with Suzhou Lida Middle School in Jiangsu, China. This granted the school an International School Award. It gained academy status in 2011 and formed the Burnt Mill Academy Trust (BMAT) in 2013. BMAT has since become a multi-academy trust, with 12 member schools as of 2021.At Burnt Mill's most recent Ofsted inspection, in November 2012, the school received outstanding grades in all categories. The school is the founding and leading school of the Burnt Mill Academy Trust, with the CEO being Helena Mills, the school's former headteacher. The trust was praised in 2016 by Prime Minister David Cameron as an example of the success of the academies programme, being used for the programme's defence when challenged by opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn during Prime Minister's Questions. The band Swim Deep recorded the music video for their song Grand Affection at the school, which featured the school's GCSE drama students.

St Mark's West Essex Catholic School is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Harlow, Essex, England. The school has six forms in each secondary year, each containing 20-30 students, with each form named after one of six historical Catholic figures (Bede, Elgar, Fisher, Hume, More, Newman, Thomas). St Mark's teaches years 7–13, and was the only sixth form in Harlow until the opening of Sir Frederick Gibberd College in September 2021. St Mark's celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015.

Harlow Town Park is a 164-acre (66 ha) public park in Harlow, Essex, England. The park is one of the largest urban parks in Britain. It includes multiple gardens, a petting zoo named the Pets' Corner, a bandstand, and the Spurriers House Café. It opened in 1957 and was designed by two of the most important figures in 20th Century landscape architecture in Britain: Frederick Gibberd and Sylvia Crowe. Its importance was recognised by Historic England on 18 August 2020 when it was added to the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens as Grade II. The park is set in and around the valley of Netteswell Cross, which includes a stream and a small historic settlement which retains a high level of original character. Several of the buildings are Grade II listed including 6 School Lane, Greyhound Public House, Hill Hall Farmhouse, Hoppitts, and Marshgate Farmhouse. These buildings range in age from the 16th to the late 19th centuries. Harlow Town Park received a large £2.8m grant for renovations in 2014, which were completed in 2016. The park has been awarded a Green Flag on six occasions, recognising the quality of green space management. In 2019 the Park was voted among the most popular 10 parks in the country in the Green Flag People's Choice award.

Our Lady of Fatima's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Harlow, Essex, England. It was designed between 1953 and 1954 by Gerard Goalen and was one of the earliest churches in England where the design was influenced by the Liturgical Movement. Construction did not begin until 1958 and the church was consecrated in 1960. Notable for its highly decorated interior, the church contains examples of dalle de verre glasswork, which are considered the first major instance of the style in Britain. This work was undertaken by Dom Charles Norris of Buckfast Abbey. Goalen designed the church in a Modernist style, influenced by European examples. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Contrapuntal Forms (BH 165) is a stone sculpture by Barbara Hepworth, one of her first public commissions, made in 1950–51 for the Festival of Britain and installed outside the Dome of Discovery on South Bank, London. It was one of two Hepworth commissions for the festival: the other was an abstract rotating sculpture, Turning Forms (BH 166).The work stands 120" (3.04m) high and is carved from blue limestone from County Galway, Ireland. It depicts two semi-abstracted standing figures. The sculpture was commissioned by the Arts Council of Great Britain who presented it to the new town of Harlow in Essex in 1953. It was the first artwork acquired (though not the first commissioned) by the Harlow Art Trust, and it is still sited at Glebelands in Harlow.The sculpture was listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England in April 1998.

St Paul's Church, Harlow is a Church of England parish church located in the new town of Harlow, Essex, England. Designed by Derrick Humphrys and Reginald Hurst, it was built between 1957 and 1959. It is a Grade II listed building.

Harlow Sportcentre was a cricket ground in Harlow, Essex. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1964, when the Essex Second XI played the Warwickshire Second XI in the Second XI Championship.Essex played 2 first-class matches there in 1970 against Cambridge University and Kent.In addition, the ground has also hosted List-A matches. The first List-A match there came in the 1969 Player's County League and saw Essex play Worcestershire. From 1969 to 1982, the ground held 7 List-A matches, the last of which saw Essex play Leicestershire in the 1982 John Player League.

It is 22 miles 59 chains (36.6 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Roydon and Harlow Mill stations. Its three-letter station code is HWN. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Greater Anglia.

Harlow Marsh is a 13.8 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Harlow in Essex. It is owned and managed by Harlow District Council.The site is in three separate areas, Maymeads Marsh (or Honeymead Marsh), Marshgate Spring and Parndon Moat Marsh. Maymeads Marsh has a reed-filled pond with a bird hide, and wildflower meadows with many insects. Over 100 species of bird have been recorded, including the rare little ringed plover and ring ouzel. Parndon Moat Marsh has ponds, woodland, wildflower meadows, drainage ditches, sedge beds and a moat, which is a Scheduled Monument. Marshgate Spring has mature woodland with oak and hornbeam, and marshes with reed and sedge beds.Maymeads Marsh is between the River Stort and the railway line, east of Harlow Town railway station. There is access from a footpath along the southern side of the river. West of Maymeads Marsh, a footbridge over the railway line gives access to a path to Edinburgh Way, and the entrance to Marshgate Spring is on this path. The entrance to Parndon Moat Marsh is on the west side of Allende Avenue, between the river and the railway line.
