Lummus Park Historic District

Lummus Park is a 5.9-acre (2.4 ha) urban park in the Lummus Park Historic District of Miami, Florida, just west of Downtown.

The Wagner Homestead was built c. 1855 by William Wagner, who came to Miami with his Creole wife Everline. Wagner, a U.S. Army veteran, had joined the army in 1846, fought in the Mexican War under General Winfield Scott until he was wounded in the Battle of Cerro Gordo, and sent to Charleston S.C. to recuperate. When Wagner's former military unit was sent to reopen Fort Dallas in 1855, he came to the Miami area and decided to move to South Florida. Wagner died in 1901 on his homestead. He was one of the area's first permanent residents and was actively involved in local political and community affairs. The Wagner house was originally located along a tributary of the Miami River which was later renamed Wagner Creek. In 1979 the Dade Heritage Trust moved the house from its original location near Culmer Metrorail Station to Lummus Park in downtown Miami. The Wagner home reflects the early days of settlement along the Miami River during the nineteenth century and is the only known house in Miami which remains from this period. It is a rare example of vernacular wood frame architecture and is unique in its use of Balloon frame construction.The home is located in Lummus Park on the north side of the Miami River at NW 4th Avenue and NW 3rd Street. It is the oldest known home still standing in Miami.

Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial High School is a secondary school in Downtown Miami, Florida that opened in 2009 with a class of new freshmen. The school has three magnet academies: Homeland Security, Forensic Science, & Law Studies. The school offers many advanced programs such as Advanced Placement and Dual enrollment with some freshmen already being enrolled in Chemistry and Algebra II. Law Enforcement was named a Magnet School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America for its commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation and the delivery of a high quality education. Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial High School is nationally ranked by U.S. News & World as one of the best schools in America. It has been consecutively ranked an A school and is part of the Miami Dade County Public Schools magnet program.

The J. W. Warner House is a historic home in Miami, Florida. It is located at 111 Southwest 5th Avenue. On June 1, 1983, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Atlantic Gas Station (also known as the Valiant Auto Body Shop) is a historic site in Miami, Florida located at 668 Northwest 5th Street. On December 29, 1988, it was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places. It was a gas station of the Atlantic Refining Company.

The Stephen P. Clark Government Center, known also as Government Center, Miami-Dade Center, or County Hall, is a skyscraper in the Government Center district of Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. It is the headquarters building of the Miami-Dade County government. Many county offices are located in or near the building. The local and federal courthouses are located within five blocks of the building. The tower is 510 ft (155 m) tall, and has 28 stories. It has one of the highest height-to-floor ratios of any skyscraper, at 18.2 feet (5.5 m) per floor. The Government Center Metrorail station is located inside the building, giving it easy access to public transit. It is located in western downtown, on North First Street between West First and West Second Avenue. The building was completed in 1985. It is named after the former Mayor of Miami-Dade County and Mayor of Miami, Stephen P. Clark (1923-1996).

The Greater Bethel AME Church is a historic church in Miami, Florida. It is located at 245 Northwest 8th Street. On April 17, 1992, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The church was built in 1927. On February 12, 1958, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a speech at the church, "Launching Of The SCLC Crusade For Citizenship."

The Museum Tower is a high-rise office building located in the Government Center district of Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. As its name implies, the building is situated across the street from HistoryMiami (and the former Miami Art Museum), which are both part of the Miami Cultural Plaza. The visibility of Museum Tower from I-95 provides it a valuable location. The building has 29 stories and stands at a height of 377 feet (115 m). The Museum Tower is used completely as class A office space. The building, still under construction, appears in a scene (at 00:45:42) from the 1986 film "Aladdin, Superfantagenio", starring Bud Spenser.

MiamiCentral is a train station in Miami, Florida. Located in Downtown Miami, the station provides access to Brightline inter-city rail service and, in the future, Tri-Rail commuter rail service. The station is part of a 9-acre (3.6 ha) mixed-use complex, which includes 3 million square feet (280,000 m2) of residential, office, commercial, and retail development.The station is located within walking distance of the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Metromover station and the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail station. The Government Center station, providing both Metromover and Metrorail service, is directly connected to MiamiCentral via a pedestrian bridge over NW 3rd Street. The station was built by All Aboard Florida, a subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries (FECI) overseeing Brightline, and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in association with Zyscovich Architects.

Government Center station is an intermodal transit hub in the Government Center district of Downtown Miami, Florida. It is operated by Miami-Dade Transit and serves as a transfer station for the Metrorail and Metromover rapid transit systems and as a bus station for Metrobus, Paratransit, and Broward County Transit buses. MiamiCentral is directly connected via a pedestrian bridge over NW 3rd Street. The station is located near the intersection of Northwest First Street and First Avenue, a part of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center Building. It opened to service May 20, 1984, next to the site of a former FEC railway station which is now MiamiCentral.

The Lyric Theater is a historic theater in Miami, Florida at 819 Northwest Second Avenue. It served Miami's African American community. On January 4, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
