The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (in case citations, S.D. Fla. or S.D. Fl.) is the federal United States district court with territorial jurisdiction over the southern part of the state of Florida. Appeals from cases brought in the Southern District of Florida are to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit).

The South Side School is a historic U.S. school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is located at 701 South Andrews Avenue. On July 19, 2006, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. South Side School opened in 1922 due Florida land boom of the 1920s. The architect of the South Side School was John Peterman and the builder was Cayot and Hart. In 1949 the school was expanded, it was enlarged again in 1954. South Side School was changed from an elementary school in 1967 to be a school for special needs children. In 1990s the school was closed. The school became a city-designated historic landmark in 1996. Although the city hopes to turn the building into a cultural arts center, the renovation has encountered several setbacks.

The Coca-Cola Bottling Plant (also known as the Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company) is an historic building located at 644 South Andrews Avenue at the corner of Southeast 7th Street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Built in 1938, it was designed by Fort Lauderdale architect Courtney Stewart in the Mission/Spanish Revival style of architecture. It is listed in the historic preservation unit of the city's comprehensive plan and is also listed on the Broward Trust for Historic Preservation's Significant and Endangered Sites in Broward County, Florida.The building is currently proposed to be converted into a parking garage.A 1,000 car garage was erected encircling the building.

110 Tower, formerly known as AutoNation Tower, is a 410.1 feet (125.0 m) modernist office building in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The building was one of the first modern high-rise office buildings constructed in the city, and became part of the city's sprawling skyline. The building has a baltic-brown granite clad and glass exterior, it currently stands as the fourth-tallest building in Fort Lauderdale's skyline, and also the tallest office building. 110 Tower is located adjacent to the Broward County Courthouse and the Broward county jail in Fort Lauderdale's Justice District along 6th Street. It is across the street from the new 27 story Broward County Courthouse Building that will begin construction in October 2011. In October 2005, Hurricane Wilma struck South Florida and damaged the building's facade, including several windows. The most notable damage was the removal of the blue neon lighting that lined the top of the building which was blown off by high winds. The lighting was replaced in 2010 with LED lights that allow the building lines to be highlighted with multiple colors. In September 2010, the building's master tenant, AutoNation, moved out of the building when its lease expired, leaving the building half empty. With the building half empty the owners, Genesis Capital Partners XI, Ltd., took the opportunity to substantially renovate the building. In October 2010, 110 Tower began undergoing the substantial $31 million renovation of the building's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as well as the renovation of the common areas and exterior. Most floors were gutted to the slab, enabling the owners to replace obsolete electrical systems, HVAC, and water systems with modern, sustainable technologies. These improvements enabled the building to earn the Energy Star Rating in September 2011, as well as being awarded the LEED EB Gold designation by the U.S. Green Building Council that year. Also in 2011, 110 Tower was named LEED E.B. Gold Building of the Year by the South Florida chapter of the U.S.G.B.C., and the city of Fort Lauderdale recognized 110 Tower's sustainable efforts by naming Thursday, September 7, 2011, as 110 Tower Day. The future of the South Side of Downtown Fort Lauderdale is improved substantially with renovation of 110 Tower, the construction of the new Broward County Courthouse, and the planned addition of surface rail along 6th Street that will serving the downtown and waterfront areas of Fort Lauderdale.

The Sam Gilliam House (also known as the Gilliam-Adams House) is a historic home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is located at 11 Southwest 15th Street. On March 29, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Croissant Park Administration Building is a historic site in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is located at 1421 South Andrews Avenue. On July 25, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Broward Health currently operates more than 30 healthcare facilities, including Broward Health Medical Center, Broward Health North, Broward Health Imperial Point, Broward Health Coral Springs, Salah Foundation Broward Health Children's Hospital, and Broward Health Weston.

Salah Foundation Children's Hospital (SFCH), formerly Chris Evert Children's Hospital, is a pediatric acute care children's hospital located within Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The hospital has 135 pediatric beds. It is affiliated with Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is a member of Broward Health. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout southeastern Florida. The hospital is also a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.The Broward Health Children's Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center was originally named after Broward native Chris Evert, before being renamed the "Salah Foundation Broward Health Children's Hospital." The hospital is one of less than 200 facilities recognized in the United States by the National Association of Children's Hospitals.

Las Olas River House is a 42-story residential skyscraper located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It stood as the tallest building in Ft. Lauderdale, until The Icon on Las Olas overtook it in late 2017. The structure is a complex created by three adjoining buildings; two duplicate 42-story towers, and one 34-story tower.The building has 285 residential units, made up of one, two and three bedroom condominiums, and also includes a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) glass walled fitness center that overlooks the New River which is only for the exclusive use of residents, and a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) rooftop garden on the sixth floor. Las Olas River House condo includes a sixth-floor cocktail bistro lounge, separate quiet library area, private meeting room, poolside cabanas and a major conference area for meetings and conducting business. Las Olas River House also contains "Smart" building features that allow all its residents to access all the building's amenities at a touch of a button.The building is part of a highrise boom in the downtown area, along with other condominiums and residential towers such as Las Olas Grand.

Stranahan House is the home of Fort Lauderdale pioneers Frank and Ivy Stranahan. Built in 1901 as a trading post and converted into a residence for the Stranahans in 1906, the house is the oldest surviving structure in Broward County. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and today operates as a historic house museum. The House is open for guided tours at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. daily, and hosts special events throughout the year.

The New River Tunnel, officially known as the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel, is a highway tunnel that carries U.S. Route 1 underneath the New River and Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The tunnel replaced the Federal Aid Highway Bridge, a drawbridge opened on August 26, 1926, and closed in 1958. Upon its completion in 1960, it was the only operating public tunnel in Florida, until the completion of the Port of Miami Tunnel in 2014, though two private tunnels exist at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista. Alfred Spear built the New River Tunnel. His business, the Thorington Construction Company of Providence, R.I., was responsible for the construction of the project.The tunnel was built after a lengthy debate on whether to construct another bridge or a tunnel. The predecessor drawbridge operated so slowly that it sometimes took motorists 45 minutes to cross from one end of the bridge to the other, creating massive traffic jams in the heart of the city.In 1986 it was renamed in honor of Henry E. Kinney, who had advocated its construction while he was chief of the Fort Lauderdale/Broward Edition of the Miami Herald newspaper.

Riverwalk, also known as the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk, is a riverwalk along New River in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Its length is over a mile and goes from the Sailboat Bend neighborhood to near the Stranahan House. It is in the former club district in downtown Fort Lauderdale. There are two main streets that run through the district, Las Olas Boulevard and Himmarshee Street. In addition to the bars and clubs, there used to be restaurants, cafes, and a movie theater. It is being redeveloped into a residential area. The concept of the riverwalk was first proposed in 1926. After a 1986 bond issue, it started being developed and the first section was completed in 1990.One area of Riverwalk is known as "Himmarshee Village", which is down Himmarshee Street passing the train-tracks. There are several bars, clubs, cafes, and restaurants. The Himmarshee Village was developed n the late 60s as a peaceful village dwelling. The New River canal ran adjacent to the Village, where the locals fished or set traps for blue crab. Other nearby landmarks includes the Museum of Science & Discovery.There is also a park that runs along with waterfront that is home to many festivals and events.
