As of 2018, the school was approved for bachelor's degrees in web design and manufacturing technology, in addition to 125 day, evening, weekend and online certificate and associate degree programs. It also includes one of the many police academies in the state.

Established in the 1880s to serve southeastern Springfield's growing Catholic population, it uses a tall Romanesque Revival church building, which was designed by a leading city architect; the building has been named a historic site.

The county was created on March 1, 1818, and was named for General George Rogers Clark, a hero of the American Revolution. Clark County comprises the Springfield, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Dayton-Springfield-Sidney-OH Combined Statistical Area.

The Marquart-Mercer Farm in Clark County, Ohio, southwest of Springfield, Ohio, is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.The listing includes a three contributing buildings which include a two-story brick Federal-style house and a log-and-brace-beam barn. Philip Marquart moved here from Amity Township, Pennsylvania, in the early 1800s and built a log cabin, then later the brick farmhouse.The property was farmed by Marquart and Mercer families.

The Westcott House is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Prairie Style house in Springfield, Ohio. The house was built in 1908 for Mr. Burton J. Westcott, his wife Orpha, and their family. The Westcott property is the only Prairie style house designed by Wright in the state of Ohio. The grounds include the main house and a garage with stables connected by an extensive pergola.

Catholic Central School is a private, Roman Catholic school in Springfield, Ohio. Part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Catholic Central provides education for grades PreK-12 at three campuses. It was recently ranked as one of the Top 50 Catholic Schools in the Nation. The school's sports teams are known as the Fighting Irish.

South High School was a public high school in Springfield, Ohio. It was one of two high schools in the Springfield City School District (SCSD), the other school being North High School. The school was created in 1960 when the original Springfield High School was divided into North and South High Schools. South was housed in the original Springfield High School, built in 1911, and assumed the SHS school colors of blue and gold and the athletic team name Wildcats. The building was designed by Albert Pretzinger of Dayton and modeled after the Library of Congress. South was closed in 2008 when enrollment declines in the Springfield City School District necessitated consolidating the two high schools and re-establishing Springfield High School. The new Springfield High School was built at what had been the North High School campus and the North High School building was demolished. Thanks to a large state grant, local donations, and the school district's investment, the former South High School building reopened in 2015 as the Springfield Center of Innovation: The Dome. It is still owned and operated by the Springfield City School District. SCSD operates the CareerConnectED Center and John Legend Theater within the building, and leases space in the Dome to the Global Impact STEM Academy and to Clark State Community College.

The East High Street Historic District is a cluster of mansions on the eastern side of Springfield, Ohio, United States. Located along one of Springfield's most important thoroughfares and once home to some of its most prominent residents, the cluster was named a historic district in 1974.
