The One Thirty North Eighth Building is a historic building located at 130 North 8th Street in Quincy, Illinois.

The U.S. Post Office and Courthouse is a post office and federal courthouse located at 200 North Eighth Street in Quincy, Illinois. The building was designed in 1885 and completed in 1887. Architect Mifflin E. Bell, Supervising Architect at the time, designed the French Renaissance Revival style building. Bell's design was inspired by Richard Morris Hunt's design for the William K. Vanderbilt House in New York City; at the time, the French Renaissance Revival style had not spread to Illinois, which made Bell's work distinctive in the region. The building's design features a limestone exterior, arched entrances and first-floor windows, and an ornate roof with pointed gables and dormers.The building, also known as the Orville H. Browning Station, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 2, 1977.

St. John's Anglican Cathedral is the designated cathedral and mother church of the Anglican Diocese of Quincy, located at 701 Hampshire Avenue in Quincy, Illinois. Established in 1837 as the first Anglican/Episcopal church in Quincy, its current building dates to 1853 and is a contributing property to the Downtown Quincy Historic District. The building is the oldest existing church in Quincy.

B’nai Sholom Temple is a synagogue in Quincy, Illinois. It was built in 1870 in the Moorish Revival style. The original, 80 foot high, twin minaret-style towers were damaged by a tornado in 1947 and not replaced.The B’nai Sholom Congregation in Quincy dates from 1852.

The Robert W. Gardner House in Quincy, Illinois, Adams County, is designed in the Second Empire style (along with a few elements common to Italianate style) and found its place among the locales on the National Register of Historic Places on April 20, 1979. Though the building was constructed in the later half of the 19th century, 1873, the architect as well as the builder are unknown. The interior woodwork, all original, has been fully restored including the walnut staircase. Gardner invented the speed governor used in steam engines and the Gardner Museum of Architecture and Design in Quincy is named for him.

The Adams County Courthouse is a government building in central Quincy, the county seat of Adams County, Illinois, United States. Built in 1950 after a tornado destroyed its predecessor, it is the fourth building to serve as a courthouse for Adams County.

The South Side German Historic District is a neighborhood within Quincy, Illinois, United States just south of downtown. The neighborhood includes most of Quincy's rich German architecture. The region is also widely known as "Calftown", named for the number of calves once owned by its inhabitants. It was added into the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 with a boundary increase in 1995.

State Savings Loan and Trust is a historic bank building located at 428 Maine Street in Quincy, Illinois. The bank was built in 1892 for brothers Lorenzo and Charles H. Bull, who were prominent Quincy businessmen and community leaders. Chicago architectural firm Patton & Fisher designed the bank in the Richardsonian Romanesque style; local architect Ernest M. Wood designed an addition for the building in 1906. The building has a five-bay facade, with three bays on the original portion and two on the addition; the bays are each marked by a window with a thick stone arch. The original section is topped by a large front-facing gable, providing for attic space above the second story.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 23, 1979.

The Morgan-Wells House, also known as the Norwood-Morgan-Wells House, was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places on November 16, 1977. The house was located at 421 Jersey Street in the Adams County city of Quincy, Illinois. This Italianate structure was built in 1860 onto another structure by Edward Wells. The original building, which was later the rear of the house, was constructed in 1853 by J.E. Norwood, a pork packer. Quincy banker Lorenzo Bull, who owned the home by 1901, gave it to the Cheerful Home Association and it became the first licensed children's home in the state of Illinois in 1901. In 1933 the YWCA purchased the home for $10.On October 17, 2016, the Quincy City Council approved a demolition permit for the Morgan-Wells House to allow the expansion of offices for the local newspaper. The Herald-Whig subsequently took title to the house and promptly demolished it.

The Downtown Quincy Historic District is a historic district located in downtown Quincy, Illinois, containing numerous buildings showcasing some of the city's late 19th century and early 20th century architecture. In the 1800s, Quincy was a popular destination for travelers making their way west via rail service. The Mississippi River was also a major economic benefit for the community, furthering the city's importance in commerce.

The John Wood Mansion was built between 1835 and 1838 by John Wood, who in 1860 became the 12th governor of Illinois on the death of Governor William Bissell. The Wood family moved into the Greek Revival home situated at 12th and State Streets in Quincy, Illinois from an unusual two-story log cabin in 1837. Quincy is the county seat of Adams County. Wood founded both the county (1825) and city (1835). Wood's 14-room mansion was built by John Cleaveland and endured a move from its original site to its current location, about a block east, so Wood could build an even larger mansion. The Greek Revival building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 17, 1970, and in 2007 was named by the Association of Independent Architects one of Illinois' 150 most important architectural structures. The John Wood Mansion features four large Doric columns, which Wood himself turned at a lathe he built for that purpose, four large chimneys and many ornate details inside and out. A great many original Wood family and period furnishings are displayed throughout the mansion. Today it is owned and operated by the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County.[1]The house is open for public tours from April through October. The Society also offers educational tours of the house to all local 3rd and 4th grade students each year, as well as special candlelight tours open to the public in December. In celebration of the 2018 Illinois Bicentennial, the John Wood Mansion was selected as one of the Illinois 200 Great Places by the American Institute of Architects Illinois component (AIA Illinois).
