Armona Union Academy

Armona is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kings County, California, United States. Armona is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west-southwest of Hanford, at an elevation of 239 feet (73 m). It is part of the Hanford–Corcoran Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,156 at the 2010 census. Armona's motto is "Small and Proud".

The community is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west-northwest of Hanford, at an elevation of 249 feet (76 m).A post office operated at Grangeville from 1874 to 1920.Grangeville was founded in 1874 by James A. Hackett and Peter Kanawyer. It is the oldest existing community in Kings County. When the Southern Pacific Railroad bypassed Grangeville in 1876, the thriving new community dwindled in size and importance.

A arts high school, Sierra Pacific High School, opened on August 13, 2009 with 217 freshman. Hanford High School and Hanford West High School each serve approximately 1,700 students. Earl F. Johnson High School serves about 250 students. Hanford Adult School serves a wide variety of students through its many and varied programs. HJUHSD students attend Hanford High School, Hanford West High School or Sierra Pacific High School based on their home address. These attendance areas were created with input from parents and other community members to create neighborhood schools and to balance student population between the schools.

Lemoore (formerly, La Tache and Lee Moore's) is a city in Kings County, California, United States. Lemoore is located 7.5 miles (12 km) west-southwest of Hanford, at an elevation of 230 feet (70 m). It is part of the Hanford-Corcoran Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA Code 25260). The population was 24,531 at the 2010 Census. The California Department of Finance estimated that Lemoore's population was 26,725 on July 1, 2019. Lemoore is home to Naval Air Station Lemoore, a master jet base housing F-18 and F-35 squadrons assigned to the Pacific fleet.

The Kings County Courthouse was erected after Kings County, California was formed; it opened in 1896. Constructed in an eclectic mix of styles in a park in the center of Hanford, it was expanded in 1914. The building served as the county's courthouse until 1976 when it was replaced by the new Kings County Government Center on West Lacey Boulevard. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The old courthouse was remodeled in the early 1980s and now houses offices, small shops and restaurants.
