Elizabeth City Regional Airport

Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City is a United States Coast Guard Air Station co-located at Elizabeth City Regional Airport in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, along the Pasquotank River near the opening of the Albemarle Sound. The base has a garrison of approximately 855 officers and enlisted. The Coast Guard air station is also one of the busiest in the U.S. Coast Guard, operating missions as far away as Greenland, the Azores and the Caribbean.

CSS Sea Bird was a sidewheel steamer in the Confederate States Navy. Sea Bird was built at Keyport, New Jersey in 1854, was purchased by North Carolina at Norfolk, Virginia in 1861 and fitted for service with the Confederate States Navy. She was assigned to duty along the Virginia and North Carolina coasts with Lieutenant Patrick McCarrick, CSN, in command. Sea Bird served as the flagship of Confederate Flag Officer William F. Lynch's "Mosquito Fleet" during the hard-fought battles in defense of Roanoke Island on February 7–8, 1862, and Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on February 10 when she was rammed and sunk by USS Commodore Perry. Her casualties were two killed, four wounded, and the rest captured.

The Battle of Elizabeth City of the American Civil War was fought in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Roanoke Island. It took place on 10 February 1862, on the Pasquotank River near Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The participants were vessels of the U.S. Navy's North Atlantic Blockading Squadron, opposed by vessels of the Confederate Navy's Mosquito Fleet; the latter were supported by a shore-based battery of four guns at Cobb's Point (now called Cobb Point), near the southeastern border of the town. The battle was a part of the campaign in North Carolina that was led by Major General Ambrose E. Burnside and known as the Burnside Expedition. The result was a Union victory, with Elizabeth City and its nearby waters in their possession, and the Confederate fleet captured, sunk, or dispersed.

The district encompasses six contributing buildings and one contributing site originally built for the State Colored Normal School at Elizabeth City. The buildings are in the Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman architectural styles.

The district encompasses 68 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in a predominantly residential section of Elizabeth City. The district developed after 1893, and includes representative examples of Greek Revival, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Bungalow / American Craftsman, and Tudor Revival style architecture. Notable contributing buildings include the Preyer-Cropsey-Outlaw House, Markham-Bell House, Bascom S. Sawyer House, Grover Hill House, Montgomery-Corbett House, Dr. Mora S. Bulla House, the W. Paul Jackson House, Jaccia F. Burrus House, Miles L. Clark House (c. 1926), and Calvary Baptist Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Roebuck Stadium is a 5,000-seat multi-use stadium in the southern area of Elizabeth City, North Carolina on the campus of Elizabeth City State University. The stadium is known mostly as the home of the school's football team though it is also used by the track & field team and occasionally by local soccer teams.

It is located on the former Naval Air Station Weeksville in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, approximately 2 miles southeast of the present day Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City.
